I am calling camera via intent , my requirement is that camera should open 
and be fix in landscape mode only i.e camera in default landscape mode. Is 
it possible via intent camera or i have to write custom camera class , any 
suggestions or reference link.

[android-developers] Published app icon issue [URGENT]

Published an app to Google Play. Everything is fine except that the icon 
and name of the app thumbnail, once downloaded, isn't what I set it to be. 
I made an old version of the app code, and thought the APK I uploaded is 
under the right name, it shows that old name. I haven't used that old name 
file for weeks. The launch icon picture isn't the one I uploaded, it's just 
an android picture.

[android-developers] Geocoder getFromLocationName does not locate certian addresses.

I am using Geocoder to obtain the longitude and latitude from a list of
addresses for subsequent locations on a map. This works for the vast
number of addresses, but there are a few that fail. An example would be "45
W. School House Lane, Philadelphia, PA 19144". Other addresses on the
same street work fine (e.g. 55 W. School House Lane). Furthermore
maps.google.com can handle this address without any
problem.

Because most addresses work, the issue does not appear to be with my code
or Android, but with the service that supports it. I am not sure what
this service is or where to report the issue. One of the issues in the
Issue Tracker (*4189*
) suggests this
might be a "mobile Google application or service" and advises us to go to
*https://support.google.com/* or
*https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!forum/en/*
. But I cannot find a
reference to "Mobile Google" in either of these links.

Can anyone advise me where to go for resolution to this issue?

[android-developers] [URGENT] App title/icon are wrong

I made an app with MIT App Inventor 2 and put it through the play store. It 
works perfectly fine, loads fine, etc. A while ago, I copied a file, lets 
call it file X, and built off it to create a new file, file Y. I saved Y 
with the title "Y" and uploaded the APK of Y to the developer console. 
Everything looks fine there, but when I download it, the app shows up as 
"X". 

The image is off, too. I uploaded a picture, but it didn't use that. It 
used a picture of an android. 

I can't find anyone with this problem, help?

This is urgent because I need to present it tomorrow.

[android-developers] Access Problem External SD-Card Android 6.01

I am very deperate: After my Samsung Galaxy Note 4 updated to Android 
6.0.1., my application (written in Java - Android Studio and running since 
Android 3.3) no longer can access data on the external sd-card.

I manage to address internal sd-card via  "System.getenv("EXTERNAL_STORAGE")" 
but alas on the web so far I found no path working with the external 
sd-card.

Of course I have no problem to read/write external sd-card via 
file-explorer.

I would be very grateful for any help,

I would like to ask are Revmob Banner and interstitial ads ok to use with 
android apps, are they google policy compliant?

Last question:
if a Free play store app connects to a desktop pc software to send/retrieve 
user data, can the user buy a licence key for that pc software via the app 
using Paypal?  As the licence key would be consumed outside of the app, and 
policies say this is an allowable exception to having to use in app billing 
via Wallet.

Can I confirm this is true?

[android-developers] Android KeyStore - keys not always persisted

In my app we are using RSA key, that the app generate (using android key 
store) on the first launch. From unknown reason, the app failed to 
retrieved the key from the key store on some of the devices. I've checked 
the logs, and I could not find a correlation between this bug to a specific 
OS version or to a specific device model. Also, I know for sure the app 
tried to read it only after the key created. So - my question is that: As 
far as I know, android key store should be persistent. What can cause such 
a bug?

[android-developers] Automatically install ADB Driver for any android phone on Windows 7

I wonder if it is possible that the adb driver installs itself when any 
android phone is connected to a Windows 7 PC.

Let´s assume that I have written a programm able to read out the vendor and 
product id of any android phone and adds these information into the 
android_winusb.inf file.
Now I don´t want to go to the Windows device manager and install the adb 
driver manually for every different android phone modell.

I just want something like a plug´n´play driver.
Does somebody know if this would be possible?

Setting an alarm on a single day works fine, the alarm rings when it

My app got approved after 12 days automatically. I am not sure what is the 
problem but I was struct for 12 days with no support from any channel. 
Maybe you have no other option other than to wait? If you find some way to

We are developing an application, and we want to apply installation 
security for this application.

i.e is there a way to restrict the application to be only installed from 
Play store? 

Basically we want to block this below installation mode of apk? What is the 
feasible way to do this , please let me know. 

- Copy the Apk into an external SD card

- Insert the SD card into the tablet

- Select on the copied apk from the SD card

- Select Install when prompted

- The application gets installed from the SD card
