[android-developers] "Params" when using AsyncTask

When using AsyncTask, there are always some params associated:


AsyncTask

And when using it, I see all kinds of variations, where Params, Progress, 
and Result are swapped out with String, Void, Integer, etc.

I'm new to Android and Java, so just wondering if this is a special way 
that Java lets us customize the AsyncTask methods to accept whatever 
datatype we want. Is this what is referred to as a generic?

[android-developers] Problem with In app billing?

TL;DR: I am getting a common error with in app billing, even though I have
the correct test accounts. Do I have to opt-in with my test account?

This is my first time with in app billing, and I am getting the following
infamous error:

I have read all the documentation a couple of times, and ***I have added my
test accounts in Google Play Console:***

***On my LG-G3 android device, I have added my test email in the accounts
section (so now my phone has two google accounts associated with it)***

***THE PROBLEM:***
In the documentation
,

it says:

> Important: To test in-app products or make in-app purchases in your
> alpha or beta channel app, each tester needs to opt-in to your app’s
> alpha or beta test. On your test’s opt-in URL, your testers will get
> an explanation of what it means to be a tester and a link to opt-in.

I believe the reason for my error is because I didn't opt-in with my test
account. How do I get that link to opt-in? In the console it says this:

*"An opt-in link will be available here when you publish your app."* This
is odd, because I thought we can test in app billing without publishing to
the play store? How can I fix this and get the opt in link?

[android-developers] Issue with Google play search

Hi Everyone,

We are recently facing an issue with Google play search. If we search for 
our app in Google play, we are unable to find it. 

Although there is no competition, still the app is not appearing in Google 
play search.  

The app can only be seen from direct URL. 

Can you guys give insight on this issue? Is there anything else that can be 
done from our end? 

Just a note, we have not restricted the app by location or by any means.

I had uploaded updated apk (new version) file on playstore but on playstore 
it is showing older version and in playstore developer console new version 
that is uploaded is showing as "in prod" status. it had been completed more 
than 28 hours. still same is there.

after that i also tried to make new version apk file and upload but the 
same thing is happening again.

and also i had uploaded new screenshot in playstore developer console but 
it is also not reflecting on playstore.

please help me its urgent.

[android-developers] Connected a USB camera to android phone and getNumerOfCameras() always return 2

Hello,

I want to connect a USB web camera on my android device and write a 
application to capture data from USB camera and stream it to other device. 
When I connect this USB web cam I can see a device is created as 
/dev/video0 but through my application when I call getNumberOfCameras() 
then it is always returning 2 (One for front camera and one for Back 
camera). So, I cant use my USB web cam in application.

Any suggestions how to fix this issue?

The only information I could find was to send notifications as high 
priority to Google from your server and after that, it's in the phone's 
control.
Not a very satisfactory answer, but the best I could find on the topic as 
Samsung's optimization isn't well documented anywhere.

Hi guys,

I started working on an existing app that has been developed based on 
BaseActivity.
Because i wanted to use the action bar and the toolbar, i created an 
AppCompatDelegate.

Everything works great, except the items are always hided (even if i marked 
the item as "showAsAction=always".
