*Required Skills/Experience:*

- First level Scrum Master certification (CSM).
- Experience playing the Scrum Master role for at least two years,
diligently applying Scrum principles, practices, and theory.
- Good skills and knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation,
situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement,
empowerment, and increasing transparency.
- Knowledge of numerous well documented patterns and techniques
(example: numerous Burn down techniques, numerous Retrospective formats,
handling bugs, etc).
- Excellent communication and mentoring skills.

- Second level Scrum Master certification (CSP).
- Knowledge of other Agile approaches: XP, Kanban, Crystal, FDD, etc.

Hey, I am new to android studio. I ran the windows startup-repair in 
Windows 7 and after that I am getting this error in android studio 2.3.3 
without any description* Error: JetGradlePlugin *in Gradle Sync. Gradle 
Build is running fine. Can anyone help? I tried stackoverflow and other

[android-developers] Why is only the last item in an ArrayList shown in RecyclerView?

I am trying to learn how to use the RecyclerView and have found that only 
the last item in an ArrayList are displayed in both positions (there are 
only two) and can't figure out why. I have used LogCat to show what is 
going on so look to the LogCat output below.

- Lines 2 and 3 show that the cursor has accessed the DB.

- Lines 4 thru 7 show that the names are retrieved from the DB and passed 
to ArrayLists.

- Lines 8 and 10 show that the ArrayList petNameList is succefully passed 
to the adapter (as items).

- Line 17 shows what position in the ArrayList is being pointed to

- Line 18 shows what is stored in ArrayList[0] and line 19 shows what is 
now in "item". (I assume that what is shown is a pointer).

- Line 20 states that the values in lines 18 and 19 should be the same name 
and they are.

- Line 21 shows what onBindViewHolder has passed to the ViewHolder and it 
is NOT the first name stored in the DB or in the
  ArrayList. It should be "fert" (see line 5).

- Line 26 shows what is stored in ArrayList[1] and line 27 shows what is 
now in "item". (I assume that what is shown is a pointer).

- Line 28 states that the values in lines 26 and 27 should be the same name 
and they are.

- Line 29 shows what onBindViewHolder has passed to the ViewHolder and it 
is the name stored in the DB and in the
  ArrayList.

So, it appears that my "setText statement is passing an incorrect value, 
"qwerty", to the ViewHolder is wrong and I currently do not know why. I am 
researching this and will post an answer if I find it before someone ansers 
this question.

For clarity and space, I copied only what I think is the relevant 
MainActivity code below the LogCat output and the Adapter code below that. 
Each shows the Log.d() statements that should help with correlation.

[android-developers] java.lang.IllegalStateException: android.widget.ListView.layoutChildren (ListView.java:1618) crash - question about the traces

I only see this crash in prod. I have no data in the traces that is 
indicating where it crashed in my code.

I am trying to narrow down the part in my app where it crashed.

I have 2 questions related to the traces:

1. in the trace it ends by the call to zygoteninit. Is the information more 
relevant as I get closer to the crash? in other terms, are the first lines 
about very generic information and should I not focus too much on them?

2. I've highlighted below 3 lines that mentions a linearlayout with 
orientation vertical. Out of my 10 listviews I only have 1 linearlayout 
listview.

[android-developers] ESRB Requirement for Designed for Families Opt-In

As part of the development of an education app that targets children, its 
clear that we are gonna have to opt-in to the designed for families program 
on google play. In order to this one of the requirements is that: "Apps 
must be rated as ESRB Everyone or Everyone 10+, or equivalent." Does anyone 
have a grasp of what would be considered equivalent here? Our app and terms 
are COPPA compliant, something I have made sure of myself but we dont 
currently have the money to apply for certification by a safe-harbour 
program by the ESRB. Could an equivalent simply be having an app that is 
appropriate for children and complies with COPPA or do I need to pay 
hundreds of dollars for ceritfication by the ESRB or some other body just 
to be able to include my app on the Play store?

Did you change the versionCode? I believe it should offer to upgrade if the
version currently on the device is lower than the one on the store.

There is a "setTicker" on the Notification.Builder that on the docs says
it's what it's sent to the accesibility services. I've never used it but
perhaps you can check if that's what you need.

When a property starts with "tools:" it means it only works on the editor.
It's useful when you will modify the position or visibility of a view
programatically or  you want to use different color backgrounds to play
around with images with transparency. But it will not be reflected on your
app.
You need to use the "Infer constraints" option for the editor to create the
real constraints.

· Make suggestions and track internal and external EODB.

*Job Requirement*

· Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or related field, or
equivalent education and experience required.

· 6+ years of related work experience in similar or directly
related functions, preferably in insurance or financial services.

· Expert, demonstrated knowledge of relational databases such as
Oracle, DB2, SQL Server, Teradata, and Netezza, and ETL development. SSIS
programming experience a plus.

· Ability to work independently under general supervision with
considerable latitude for un-reviewed actions or decisions.

· Must have an in-depth knowledge of a group's applications
programming system / platform and a general knowledge of all groups'
applications programming systems. Competent to work at the highest
technical level of all phases of applications systems analysis and
programming activities. SSIS expertise preferred.

· Must possess excellent interpersonal and communications skills,
excellent problem solving skills, and the self-motivation to improve skills
and abilities as generally acquired through six years of experience.

· Must demonstrate leadership, professionalism, and preferably an
understanding of the insurance business.

[android-developers] Upgrade journey from self hosted app to Google play app (same package name).

Hi,
We have hosted our Android app on our own until today when we submitted the 
app to Play Store.
The issue comes when trying to update from self hosted -> Google Play app. 
The Google Play Store opens but it button title says "OPEN" & "UNINSTALL" 
the app. (should be "UPGRADE" & "UNINSTALL").
Is it even possible to do this upgrade, and if, how?

I looked for MqttMessage on Google and it seems like getPayload() gives you
a byte array.

So if you know that it could be a String that says "connected", you just
need to compare the strings.

String message = new String(message.getPayload());
if(message.equals("connected")) {
// Do stuff
}

You could also check equalsIgnoreCase if you don't know the capitalization.

If that "connected" is not a string but it's on some kind of object, I'm
guessing you'll need to use serialization. But I'm just using simple Java
knowledge, I don't know your project.

[android-developers] proper architecture of Android App, best practices, estabilished solutions ?

Hi

I've started learning Android about 5-6 years ago (And 2.x), i had a long 
break, now i want to learn more...but...

I'm searching for online courses, looking at developer.android.com  ,but 
still i can see only 'simple description' of every component (like Intent, 
Activity, Fragment, Views etc.)
without information how to create proper app (with proper 
layout/architecture etc.) - so i don't have to reinvent the wheel !

for example, if i want to create standalone pc app (service or desktop 
app), instead of creating everything from scratch, i would use Spring Boot, 
or Tomcat with Spring MVC/Core and Dependency Injection etc.
i would layer my app - controllers, services, repositories, model
- estabilished way / best practices.

but i can't find anything like that for Android App. Do you know anything 
about such tutorials/examples/materials ?

Hi guys,
 I'm new developing for Android and one of the requirements in the project 
I'm working on is that the application needs to run in Android 4.4.2 
because they have Samsung Galaxy Grand mobile phones (I don't know the 
exactly version). The problem is that I need to buy a mobile phone to do my

[android-developers] Android Behavior in Dual Stack DNS Query

wanted to know what is the behavior of Android phone when the APN mode is
dual stack(both IPv4/v6) and client receives both Ipv4 and V6 address.

*Reason: *

- We have tested multiple applications and found out that the application
waits for the response before firing a A query towards the DNS
servers. [have attached a wireshark of one of the application issue i had
faced]

*Questions:*

- If this is the default behavior of the OS, then can someone point me out
on what is the wait time of response before a A query is fired. (Along
with documentation/ source link if you have any)?

- Is there anyway we can change the OS behavior to fire both & A Query
simultaneously and establish a TCP connection with the mode (IPv4/V6) who
responds with a 'No Error' response code? - This could solve a lot of
problems in cases where DNS entries have been made but the site/application
is not ready in IPv6.
