[android-discuss] Re: The Archos AppLib store.

2009-11-16 Thread arnouf
Hi Thomas,

Validated = your application must work correctly on an Archos 5 IT :
good resolution screen, no Google Api use, no sensor use, no phone
use, no vibrator (on appslib.com you can find all specification).
That's all. Your application must be a real application or widget (not
a HelloWorld).
When you're application is tested and validated (count 3 weeks max)
you'll receive an email containing your coupon. You can use it on
archos.com web site and it can be used now or at the beginning of 2010
when the Archos 8gb and 16gb will be available.

Best regards,

On 16 nov, 00:07, Thomas Riley tomrile...@googlemail.com wrote:
Hey everyone, I have a few questions about the AppsLib store, hoping
 someone out there can help!

Firstly, what do they define as validated? Is that just them testing
submitted apps and giving the app Archos Approval if it works ok on a
 real Archos device?

Secondly, when your app is validated how can you find out? Do they
email you? Or do they not bother to tell you?

 Thanks,
 Tom.

 people doing automated re-syncs.

On G1, when you do a long press on home button, we can see 6

[android-discuss] Re: How many Dalvik instance max?

2009-05-11 Thread arnouf

So if I understand (thanks at all for your answers)

If the G1 device displays 6 applications it's just a UI beahviour
(there are perhaps 15 applications/activity sleeping)...

Is not a shame? Example: if I use a game application, really heavy the
morning...This game stays in memory all the day and slow down (maybe)
the device

Do I understand well?

Which means that the maximum amount of VM instances you can get depends on
the available RAM on your devices, what other services are running, etc..
It's hard to give any accurate number then.

David,

I'm not sure...let me explain :)

When I call finish() method on a running application, the activity
seems close BUT if I look for processes using DDMS, I can find the
process related to my application...

I don't understand something...I am Stuppp :'(

If the game doesn't have background services, it simply won't run.

The process is held in memory so you can switch back to it very rapidly
(i.e. all the setup is already there, no need to reload everything like
 bitmaps from disk),
 that's all.

You should see this a user-friendly optimization :-)

And what the long-press HOME displays is actually a least-recently-used list
of applications, I'm not even certain that all the corresponding apps have a
process in the system. I'm pretty sure that the 6 is a display limitation
made to keep the UI simpler.

  Do I understand well?
