I believe Probhat is working perfectly now. You can check it here:
http://bnwebtools.sourceforge.net/beta/

As I don't know how to type in Probhat. I need your help to test it.

By the way, I planning to include Lekho. Is the Lekho layout keyboard worth the
effort? How many people are using it?

I can help you with that. You can keep one Bangla and the English keyboard in
the exact same interface. Users must change language using 'esc'. Also you can
add few more layouts and provide radio buttons for selection.

Hmmm!! I just tried your online editor. I must admit it is pretty intuitive.

I was thinking of implementing some part of your editor in Submit form
of Ankur's E2B dictionary. Lot of people contribute new Bengali words
through its interface. Unfortunately most of them use English script to
write the Bengali words and those are sort of good efforts gone waste :-(
You may check it by visiting

http://www.bengalinux.org/cgi-bin/abhidhan/bdict.pl

So can you please suggest what needs to be done so that it can work
with minimal changes (in the code) of the current interface. BTW, I
am no expert in js:-)

Cheers,
Golam

Whatever you end up with, it would be very helpful if you try to
separate reusable parts of it in a javascript library of some sort. I
have thought about creating and maintaining something like it on
behalf of Ankur, but never got around to it. It has many possible use
cases; Anubadok is one, another obvious one is a search box in various
contexts (e.g. the archive, or wikipedia).

Thanks for your suggestion. In fact it is already in a reusable format. The
keyboard layouts are in a js file whereas the converters are in another one,
etc. The main page just hooks the text box with keydown and keyup functions and
provides interface functionalities. Many websites are using it. For example:
http://www.thebdnews.com/ . BDNews24.com is planning to use it as well.

I can help you with that. You can keep one Bangla and the English keyboard in
the exact same interface. Users must change language using 'esc'. Also you
can add few more layouts and provide radio buttons for selection.

 Let me know your thoughts.

[Ankur-core] Rules for Probhat layout

2007-04-23 Thread S M Mahbub Murshed
Hi all,
I am trying to create an online Probhat editor as a part of my bnwebtools
project. Where can I find the phonetic rules for this keyboard? You can try the
keyboard here: http://bnwebtools.sourceforge.net/beta/

I need your help in this regard.

Re: [Ankur-core] Rules for Probhat layout

2007-04-23 Thread Khandakar Mujahidul Islam
Hi Ubvranto Bhai,
Please check স,ষ,ড,ঢ.
In Probhat স=s, ষ=Shift+S, ড=d, ঢ=Shift+d.
But here ড=s, ঢ=Shift+S, স=d, ষ=Shift+d.
I couldn't write any যুক্ষাক্ষর.

There are many correction in Probhat Charater Map help file here.

Thanks,
Suzan
