Re: [Bes-admins] Unable to activate blackberry
Note - a normal security wipe will NOT remove the IT policy. Here's a link that discusses a way to do so; http://forums.crackberry.com/desktop-software-f153/remove-policy-using-bb-desktop-manager-693936/ From: Mark Kraakman mark.kraak...@cyso.nl To: A list for BES Admin's to discuss issues, etc. bes-admins@dataoutages.com Sent: Friday, April 6, 2012 4:49 AM Subject: Re: [Bes-admins] Unable to activate blackberry Hi, Thanks for the replies. The device has been wiped, so no IT policy. Activation does not work on multiple devices. We've also disabled all mailbox rules to ensure nothing happens to the e-mail. Re: [Bes-admins] Unable to activate blackberry
Hi, Try activating to an external email address (ie. Yahoo/gmail account) to confirm the activation email is being sent from your device. If you receive the email, then I would be taking a closer look at your spam/virus settings. It might be that the activation email is not making it's way into the users exchange mailbox. Also, I have come across where the OS had to be reloaded on the device due to corruption which resulted in the generated activation email being corrupt. BES would pickup the activation from the users mailbox as expected, but was unable to process due to corruption. Hope that helps... Re: [Bes-admins] Unable to activate blackberry
We got this a few times when the activation email was either blocked or altered by an incoming spam filters. Check the user's inbox and make sure the activation email actually gets there when you are trying to activate. You might also see if the user installed BB Desktop manager on their workstation and chose "sync locally" instead of "sync with BES", although I'm not sure if that's still an option anymore. -Jason On 4/5/2012 10:58 AM, Mark Kraakman wrote: Hi, I'm trying to activate a blackberry account, the following error shows up in the logs: Ignored - let other server/desktop do it It is not blackberry or provisioning related.
