2013-05-21 Thread David Ferrin
According to his private message to those of us who manage this list we
should all be shot for shutting it down. Interesting since we do it as a
hobby and expect or receive no compensation for doing it other than the rare
event that one of us receives a donation to help offset the cost.

If anybody wants to start their own mailing list they are certainly free to
do so and in many cases utilize a number of free services available for such
a forum.

Nobody has offered so to speak to take over this list and even if somebody
wanted to step up they would have to start from the beginning. The
membership list is only available to the three of us and I will not allow it
to be shared with anybody else. In other words it is a private database and
as such is confidential. This is especially true for those who have never
posted on the list.

Never the less any more posts like the message I am replying to and this
list won't make it until lunch time never mind next Friday.

Hi Anna,

Try the following:
1. Open the Control Panel find Power Options press enter to open.
2. When power Options opens you will be on the first tab of the power
schemes tab. Home / Office Desk should be selected here.
3. Tab 3 times to your monitor settings combobox, I have mine on 10 minutes
just in case the monitor is turned on someone forgets to turn it off, it
will turn off after 10 minutes. Tab 1 time to the hard disks combobox, I
have mine set on, never. Tab 1 time to the stand by combobox, I have mine
set on, never.
4. Tab to the apply button press the spacebar. Now control + tab 2 times
to the, Hibernate tab.
5. You should be on the, Enable Hibernation checkbox, if this box is
checked, uncheck it with the spacebar.
6. Tab to apply, press the spacebar, tab to okay , press the spacebar or
enter to save your changes close.

The steps above are the way my computers are set-up these are my
preferences. I'm not saying that you should set your computer up this way,
I'm just giving an example. I don't want the computer doing anything unless
I give the commands to do so.
Hope this helps.
Take care.

set on, never.

I give the commands to do so.
Hope this helps.

Sacrificing some power for response time, that is the trade off. The power
cost increase with that setting is minimal at the very least, I often set
them that way myself.

That is possibly a large can of worms. Overheating, an interruption of power

continue.

 Hi Anna,

 Try the following:
 1. Open the Control Panel find Power Options press enter to open.
 2. When power Options opens you will be on the first tab of the power
schemes tab. Home / Office Desk should be selected here.
 3. Tab 3 times to your monitor settings combobox, I have mine on 10
minutes just in case the monitor is turned on someone forgets to
turn it off, it will turn off after 10 minutes. Tab 1 time to the
hard disks combobox, I have mine set on, never. Tab 1 time to the
stand by combobox, I have mine set on, never.
 4. Tab to the apply button press the spacebar. Now control + tab 2
 times to the, Hibernate tab.
 5. You should be on the, Enable Hibernation checkbox, if this box is
checked, uncheck it with the spacebar.
 6. Tab to apply, press the spacebar, tab to okay , press the spacebar
or enter to save your changes close.

The steps above are the way my computers are set-up these are my
preferences. I'm not saying that you should set your computer up this
way, I'm just giving an example. I don't want the computer doing
anything unless I give the commands to do so.
 Hope this helps.
 Take care.

How can I install a signature to be place at the bottom of an e-mail message

Do you have a signature created already?
If so, when you're in the body of the email message you can do an alt n
followed by the lettrs a and s. You'll see the signature you have created
so just press enter on it. If you have more than one signature arrow up or
down to the one you want and press enter.

2013-05-21 Thread Denny Huff

To create a signature, while in Outlook do an alt f.
Arrow down to options and press enter.
Arrow down to mail and tab to, signatures and press enter.
Tab to new and press enter.
Type in a name for the signature and tab to OK and press enter.
As you tab you will see, new message, arrow up to, none.
Tab to reply and also tab up to, none.
Keep tabbing and you will see several choices for font style, size, center
text and the last one is, hyperlink. After this choice is the area where
you type in your signature.

Type it in as you want it to appear on the email message.
When finished tab to OK and press enter.
You'll need to tab several more times to OK once again.
Now use the instructions I sent earlier to include your signature in an
email.

No, I have no signature created yet. I do not know exactly where to go and
what to do there when I get to that point, in order to create the signature
from scratch. I need to start right at the very beginning.
Thanks for trying though.

Do you have a signature created already?
If so, when you're in the body of the email message you can do an alt n
followed by the lettrs a and s. You'll see the signature you have created
so just press enter on it. If you have more than one signature arrow up or
down to the one you want and press enter.

Subject: [Blind-Computing] Signature in e-mail message

I use win. 7, JAWS 12 and Outlook 2010.

How can I install a signature to be place at the bottom of an e-mail message
only when I wish to do so, not all the time, permanently?

I last did this with Outlook Express and XP, but think it could be different
now.

Thanks in advance for your detailed directions.
