Hello David,
I just double checked my idea and it works fine. This is of course
you have a scanner and a scanner software like OmniPage 15 and the
image PDF file is not a picture, but text.
I printed the image with Acrobat and then scanned the printed page
and I was then able to read the results with Jaws.
So, if there is a will, there is a way (smile) I just wanted everyone
to know that it is possible to do something like this without sighted help.
Thanks,
Lennie

If it is saved as a text or some such file that can be opened in an

Does this apply to scanned documents as well? For example, I scan a letter
into my computer, then email it as an attachment to you. How easy is it to
be read?
Thanks,
Cathie

What Marilyn has suggested about needing to use the Kurzweil Virtual Printer
to read a particular PDF file leads right into what I'm going to suggest
here. It's possible that the PDF file you are having trouble with is a
photocopy document loaded into a PDF. This means that there may be nothing
at all wrong with your Adobe Reader and you won't be able to save the
document as a text document because it is essentially one big picture of a
document that was photocopied and loaded into PDF.
