[CITTERN] Re: help request

2008-05-01 Thread Damien Delgrossi
There are some contemporary composers for 8 courses and 5 courses cittern. I
am thinking to Migheli Raffaelli who is released his new album of 8 courses
cittern and the reedition of the first one a cetera. There is also in
France Henri Agnel who composed a contemporary opera called Motti Train
with Orpharion, oud, 4 courses cittern
A corsican jazzman abroad in Marseille, France, composed contemporary musics
for guitar and electric cittern, his name is Jean-Marc Montera. Jazz
cittern.

If we look for well, we can find some treasures...

Regards,

Damien

A friend of mine is wring a short article on the state of affairs in
contemporary composition for lutes/citterns, and he asked me to assist in
gathering the information.
I don't know whether the planned new lute composition index by Lynda Sayce
and David PArsons was ever published, so we are soliciting the Collective
Wisdom for citations, as substantial as possible for the 14 composers
mentioned in the Wikipedia Article, as as any others not mentioned there.

I didn't know of the list, but can recommend the compositions for cittern by
Lee Santana, heard at the Michaelstein guitar/cittern conference. Also his
compositions for lute and viol, some of which are on CD.
