After a day of talks near Bonn, G7 ministers said they had discussed ideas for making debt relief available more quickly. But the BBC Economics Correspondent Andrew Walker says their proposals fall short of debt cancellation for the worst hit countries -- an idea urged by many charities. Some of the UK's biggest pop stars endorsed their support for Jubilee 2000, the campaign calling for the debts to be written off, at the recent Brit Awards. And the founder of Band Aid, Bob Geldof, said on Sunday that there was a strong practical and moral argument for canceling the debt. 'Stability forum' The finance ministers also agreed to establish a Financial Stability Forum to watch for warning signs of potential market turmoil. The forum, proposed by the head of the German Bundesbank, Hans Tietmeyer, will urge global financial regulators to cooperate more closely. The new body will be made up of senior officials from G7 countries as well as representatives of international institutions and regulatory bodies. "Ultimately the process of strengthening cooperation should make a significant contribution to a better functioning of the financial markets. "This will make possible a full utilization of the considerable benefits which free capital movements provide to all participants in the global financial system," Mr. Tietmeyer said. Leaders to discuss in June But our economics correspondent, Andrew Walker, says the proposal still has to be discussed by G7 leaders at their summit in June. The request for ideas for keeping a closer eye on the flow of footloose capital came after world markets slumped following Russia's de-facto default on its foreign debt last summer. It is proposed that the forum international bodies will meet at least twice a year. Sweeping changes to the way the global financial system is supervised have been ruled out. State of the world economy The state of the world economy was another main item on the agenda of the day- long talks, which officials called friendly and constructive. The US Treasury Secretary Robert Rubin said that it was "crucially important" that Japan and Europe do more to stimulate domestic demand, to suck in more goods from developing countries desperate to export their way back to economic health. Mr. Rubin had said previously the US could not continue indefinitely as the consumer of last resort for the world economy without stoking protectionist pressure at home and building up a dangerously large trade deficit. From ArabNet: The British mandate With Arab help, the British took Palestine from the Ottomans at the end of World War I in 1917-18. The Arabs willingly helped the British because they had been promised independence after the war. Unfortunately, Britain had also made promises to the Jews -- and the two sets of promises were scarcely compatible. In the Sykes-Picot agreement made with France and Russia in 1916, Britain had promised to divide the regions and rule it with its allies. In 1917 in the notorious Balfour Declaration, Britain promised, in exchange for Jewish help, a Jewish "national home" in Palestine. The Balfour Declaration of 2 November 1917 was originally a letter sent from the British Foreign Secretary, Arthur James Balfour, to Edmond J. Rothschild, a prominent British Jew and supporter of Zionism. The letter stated the British government's support for "the establishment in Palestine of a national home for the Jewish people." It made a further commitment on the part of the British government to make "the best endeavours to facilitate the achievement of this object, it being clearly understood that nothing shall be done which may prejudice the civil and religious rights of existing non-Jewish communities in Palestine, or the rights and political status enjoyed by Jews in any other country." With the Balfour Declaration, Britain's aim was to win the support of Jews for the Allied cause in World War I -- both those Jews in nations at war and those in neutral nations such as the United States. On 24 July 1922 the declaration was incorporated into the League of Nations mandate for Palestine which enumerated the terms under which Britain was given responsibility for temporary administration of the country on behalf of the Jews and Arabs living there. The mandate lasted from 1922-1948, during which time the British found themselves, because of their contradictory promises, in a most difficult and untenable situation -- but one primarily of their own making. On one hand, the Zionists anticipated large numbers of Jews immigrating to Palestine and even begin to speak of the establishment of a Jewish state. On the other hand, the Palestinians feared dispossession at the hands of the Zionists and naturally rejected British promises to deliver their country into the hands of what were, by virtually any definition, outsiders. Anti-Zionist attacks took place in both Jerusalem and Jaffa in 1920 and 1921, and a British policy statement in 1922 denied Zionist claims to all of Palestine, limited Jewish immigration but nonetheless supported the idea of a Jewish national home. The British proposed setting up a legislative council as had been done in many of their other territories, but the Palestinians, upon learning of how this was to be done, rejected the idea as discriminatory. Despite British policy and its back-and-forth nature, first supporting one side and then the other, Jewish immigration did in fact increase. Indeed, after the Nazi victory in Germany in 1933, immigration rose sharply and in 1935 over 60,000 Jews came into Palestine. An Arab revolt based on fears of Jewish domination broke out in 1936 and lasted intermittently until 1939. By that date, Britain had once again limited Jewish immigration and purchases of land and by 1940, the struggle for Palestine had abated for the duration of World War II. After the war, the struggle resumed and though Britain refused to admit 100,000 Jewish survivors of Nazi death-camps, large numbers gained entry to Palestine by illegal means. In 1947 Britain declared the mandate unworkable and passed the problem over to the United Nations. Seldom have Hollywood movies contained favorable portrayals of Arabs or Arab-Americans. Thus, millions of viewers of Hollywood movies worldwide are being burdened with Hollywood's perspective of what Arabs and Arab-Americans are like, which we all have to admit is prejudiced and extremely unbalanced. In all fairness, this record suggests that some Hollywood movies are being used as a form of private propaganda (paid for by the unsuspecting moviegoers themselves), and in this instance, the propaganda could have consequences for Mid-East and world peace. Asians My studies also reveal that Hollywood's portrayals of ASIANS AND ASIAN-AMERICANS consistently present them as enemies, cold, calculating, ruthless, aggressive, criminals, slave owners and conspiring businessmen (some of whom, of course, bought a couple of the major Hollywood studios a few years ago). While Hollywood movie villains often hold political views of the extreme right, seldom does Hollywood portray its movie villains as political liberals. Religion Another blatant Hollywood movie bias occurs with respect to RELIGION. Most are just overlooked, but some, including Christianity are vigorously attacked in films. Someone may hold the position of Pro-choice and be against the death of unwanted babies even if that person allows the death or assists in it's execution. Not everything is a black and white issue and it does not boil down to a distinction that you make, it is more complex. Just as Pro-life people are for the baby being brought to term BUT they have been known to make some exceptions, have they not, and if you allow ANY babies to be "murdered" as you say then these people are murderers and should be listed as pro-holocaust as well. I think that pro-choice is about removing the burden of having others decide what is best for you, and leaving that decision where it belongs, with the person in the situation and in the privacy of their lives. I will not defend any position since I hold to some aspects of each position, just as most people do. It is a decision that I will never have to make, and something that I would hope to never have to wrestle with in a personal relationship. -Caveat Lector- Regarding the below post and all the posts on Hollywood --- did everyone miss the Arts and Entertainment special aired about late summer 1998 (name of the special escapes me) in which it was admitted and bragged about that Jews founded, built, and run Hollywood. It is correct to say that there is no conspiracy --- it's out in the open. Liberal Jews don't need to get together and conspire any more than I need to get together and conspire which fellow pro-lifers on how to picket an abortion chamber or call in to a talk show on the subject of abortion. Most of us pro-lifers are Catholics or fundamentalist Christians (no, Virginia, orthodox Jews are not pro-life in the same sense, but support abortion in the first trimester under certain conditions) -- we were raised the same with the same teachings -- part of the same social organism, if you will (borrowing Lloyd Miller's terminology here). Likewise, liberal Jews congregating in Hollywood are also of the same mental background and upbringing -- no need to conspire at all. I'm sorry I don't remember the name of that A E special, but it's available to be bought -- is might even have 'Jewish' or 'Jew' in the title of that A E special. Now, comment on why certain groups have been portrayed certain ways by the Jews that run Hollywood: 1. Latinos - primarily Roman Catholic, the primary target of organized Jewry (in traditional form, not in the current apostate form following John Paul II, which some of us Roman Catholics call "The Counterfiet Church." 2. Arabs -- too obvious, Arabs have to be discredited since any brutalization against them must be able to be justified in order to prevent them from retaking some or all of the land that was taken from them with much violence and forced exile in 1948. 3.Asians -- no comment -- no insight. 4. Religion - better to have a backboneless population if you're in the minority by a long shot. Also, a secret or not so secret antipathy to traditional Christianity as expressed clearly in the Talmud. 5. South - the south represents the stronghold of those promote white racial integrity which Jews generally abhor. In fact, as Alan Dershowitz has recently proven, the top Jews can advocate racial intermixing for everyone else, while in the next breath advocate racial separatism for themselves (see Alan Derwshowitz's book, The Vanishing American Jew). Lest I be accused of being a racist, let me add that it's not sin to marry across racial lines, but neither do many of us believe that God made a mistake when he made the distinct races, which we must now correct by interbreeding. Each race has a right, within limits, to be justly proud of the good things in its heritage. 6. Politics -- same as religion -- better to have a muddleheaded liberal population than a principle-oriented conservative population if you're in the minority. 7. Whites, Blacks, Italian Americans, etc. -- it has been the habit of the Jewish controlled media to inculcate guilt-complexes in all other groups while holding themselves sacrosanct in their propaganda. Notice that NONE of the bashes on religion in the movies - as far as I know -- ever uses a Rabbi gone awry as the subject of its "bash" of religion. In 1926 he seized total power as dictator and ruled Italy until July 1943, when he was deposed. A puppet Fascist regime with Mussolini at its head nominally controlled northern Italy under the Germans until Mussolini's execution by partisans in 1945 (see ITALY, HISTORY OF). A neo-Fascist party, the Italian Social Movement, was founded after World War II, but its influence was small. The Philosophy of Fascism Fascist ideology, largely the work of the neoidealist philosopher Giovanni GENTILE, emphasized the subordination of the individual to a "totalitarian" state that was to control all aspects of national life. Violence as a creative force was an important aspect of the Fascist philosophy. A special feature of Italian fascism was the attempt to eliminate the class struggle from history through nationalism and the corporate state. Mussolini organized the economy and all "producers"--from peasants and factory workers to intellectuals and industrialists--into 22 corporations as a means of improving productivity and avoiding industrial disputes. Contrary to the regime's propaganda claims, the totalitarian state functioned poorly. Mussolini had to compromise with big business, the monarchy, and the Roman Catholic church. The Italian economy experienced no appreciable growth. The corporate state was never fully implemented, and the expansionist, militaristic nature of fascism contributed to imperialist adventures in Ethiopia and the Balkans and ultimately to World War II. The intellectual roots of fascism can be traced back to voluntaristic philosophers such as Arthur SCHOPENHAUER, Friedrich NIETZSCHE, and Henri BERGSON and to SOCIAL DARWINISM with its emphasis on the survival of the fittest. Its immediate roots, however, were in certain irrational, socialist, and nationalist tendencies of the turn of the century that combined in a protest against the liberal bourgeois ideas then holding sway in Western Europe. Gabriele D'ANNUNZIO, Georges SOREL, and Maurice BARRES were particularly influential. European Fascism Closely related to Italian fascism was German National Socialism, or NAZISM, under Adolf HITLER. It won wide support among the unemployed, the impoverished middle class, and industrialists who feared socialism and communism. In Spain the Falange Espanola (Spanish Phalanx), inspired by Mussolini's doctrines, was founded in 1933 by Jose Antonio Primo de Rivera (1903-36). During the SPANISH CIVIL WAR, the Falange was reorganized as the Falange Espanola Tradicionalista by Gen. Francisco FRANCO, who made it the official party of his regime. Of less importance were the Fascist movements in France and the British Union of Fascists under Sir Oswald MOSLEY. Fascist movements sprang up in many other European countries during the 1930s, including Romania (see IRON GUARD), Belgium, Austria, and the Netherlands. Fascist groups rose to power in many of the countries under German occupation during World War II. In France the VICHY GOVERNMENT of Marshal Philippe Petain was strongly influenced by the ACTION FRANCAISE, a movement that shared many ideas with fascism. The collaborationist Quisling government in occupied Norway also espoused a fascistlike ideology. The defeat of Italy and Germany in the war, however, spelled the end of fascism as an effective, internationally appealing mass movement. This is what Clinton and Hillary, Mr Hyde and Ken Starr and so many others really are...that is reptiles; an asuric race. These look like ordinary people but they are not. I have been saying this for over two years. The Bible speaks of the preformace of the "Great Sacrilage" that will become common in the last days that is demonic ritualism. The AntiChrist is here and the next century will be his. The Anti Christ "Ahriman" is here to open up an 'Ahrimanic immortality" to those that serve him; just as true religious or mystical experience opens up an immortality to those servents of God. Excuse me: I emailed that peice to another. I have been on CtrL list for close to a year and have never upload anything. Supriseingly one can learn more by reading and listening. What caught my attention about the Andrew Hennessey peice is that i believe that something here is true, as bizzare as it may sound. I am not much of a UFO buff, and I enjoy science fiction, but I prefer it to stay in the realm of entertainment. What gives validity to this post to me, is my own past time as a 'pendulum dowser'. Like looking for water, etc. For the past several years I have dowsed for disease and various health problems. One of the first things I learned about this very old technology (that is binary in nature-that is, like all methods of divination-a yes or no, or a single or double line like in the I-Ching) is the vital importance of the questions asked. If all you get is a yes or no, then the question must be carefully put together. In dealing with a person; one of the first questions that needs to be answered is "this a true human being?" Without that established any further questions can be misleading. What I have learned (and other dowsers too) is that not all who walk on two legs is necessairly human in the "real spiritual' sense of the word. Dowseing needs a focus, and this focus is a picture, hair, blood sample or signature etc; something to form a link with the entity in question. I have dowsed many photos of the politicans, bankers, generals, high rollers of every catagory. And, in contrast to most state and local officals, those of a national character; many of the latter do not dowse as human at all. At first I could not put my finger on the difference because the body was a physical human body. Later as my practice evolved (or as some may think; my Alzihammers got worse) I found that alien abductions were vastly more common than I would ever have guessed. Likewise when I came to understand the 'grays' and the 'reptoids' and various and asundry entities that are making their way into our public conversations, I found that many in positions of power and influence were diffently not human and were often, in fact, dowsed for being reptillian in soul. These beings do not have any human moral values at all. The whole sorry specticle of the Clinton impeachment was just a shell game and sham brought about by entities that have no true human interest at all. DP. The British Medical Association (BMA) is so worried by the possibility that it has commissioned a team of geneticists, biologists, lawyers and warfare experts to see if the technology is possible, and if so, to ban it. ``It is a particularly horrifying thought,'' said Dr Vivienne Nathanson, head of science and ethics for the BMA, who started the study. ``If you were a dictator somewhere in the world and you wanted to get rid of a group of people in your population who were opposing you -- whether you are talking about Hutus and Tutsis in Rwanda, Bosnian Serbs or 1930s Germany -- you could use this,'' she added. Gene therapy homes in on genes that certain people have that are different and can cause disease. For example, people with cystic fibrosis have easily identified mutations, as do some sufferers of breast cancer. New genes, or therapeutic proteins, can be delivered using engineered DNA -- the basic genetic building material. Nathanson said this could be twisted. ``If we can target people to have a therapeutic effect then maybe you could put something in that is dangerous,'' she said in a telephone interview. Race war would not be possible -- races are too genetically diverse and what people recognise as ``race'' has little genetic basis. ``You are looking for what in Scotland would be a clan or in Africa a tribe,'' Nathanson said. ``It's a family grouping where one would expect to see a genetic similarity.'' Genes targeted by such weapons could control a person's appearance -- height or hair colour -- or how their bodies process certain drugs. ``If that is the case, and it is likely to be the case, then it is possible to say we may have a weapon which was a virus or a chemical compound which has a genetic targeting component,'' Nathanson said. ``We have to recognise that there is a potential for weapons with a fair degree of selectivity and extraordinary awfulness.'' Such compounds could be delivered as a gas or spray, or put into the water supply. They could kill, make people infertile or cause the birth of deformed children. ``It would probably not be 100 percent effective but I've never really come across a dictator who seemed terribly concerned about losing some of their own population,'' she said. ``We are doing the study at the moment using as many lawyers and other experts as we can to find out whether we think it is feasible,'' said Nathanson, who presented her fears to the BMA's annual meeting in Edinburgh. ``If we do think such weapons are feasible, and so far we haven't heard anything that we think means they wouldn't be, a ban that works would be needed,'' Nathanson said. ``It would need international collaboration and cooperation.'' The incident prompted jail officials to lock Tyson in an isolation cell at the Montgomery County Detention Center, and could lead to anything from a reprimand to further jail time for the former heavyweight champion. A source close to Tyson said jail officials had stopped giving him the antidepressant Zoloft two days before the Friday afternoon incident. The medication was stopped after Tyson refused to let a prison psychologist examine him. Tyson refused on the grounds he had already undergone extensive psychological examinations by doctors at Massachusetts General Hospital in October and was under the continuing care of Dr. Richard Goldberg, who heads the psychiatric program at Georgetown University, the source said. Tyson had been taking Zoloft on a daily basis for the past four months, except for the week prior to his Jan. 16 fight with Francois Botha. Tyson was weaned gradually from the drug during that week, and began taking it again the day after the fight, the source, who asked not to be identified, told the AP. Neither jail officials nor Goldberg could be reached for comment. A call to the home of Tyson's Washington, D.C., attorney, Paul Kemp, was not returned. Tyson was in a common area with other prisoners on Friday and was talking on the phone when a guard came in and hung the phone up, the source said. The action enraged Tyson, who picked up the television set and threw it against some bars. Tyson, the source said, immediately apologized and offered to pay for the TV. Doctors at Massachusetts General testified at Tyson's licensing hearing before the Nevada Athletic Commission in October that the former heavyweight champion was often depressed but that his mood swings could be controlled if he took the proper medication. On the medication, Tyson was cheerful and cooperative in interviews with reporters when training for the Botha fight in Phoenix in December. The week of the fight, though, he was combative at times and engaged in a profanity-laced tirade against a New York television reporter four days before the fight. Tyson was being held in an 8-by-5-foot isolation cell pending a hearing either Monday or Tuesday on a citation for destruction of county property in the jail in the Washington suburb. Tyson, 32, was sentenced Feb. 5 to a one-year jail sentence for assaulting two men after a minor traffic accident in August in Gaithersburg. Tyson pleaded no contest to the charges, but might appeal the sentence. Tyson's advisers had been hoping that he would be put in a prerelease program within 60 days of beginning his sentence that would allow him to stay in a halfway house and leave during the day for training. The incident with the television, though, could harm hopes of an early release. The boxer also is on probation in Indiana for raping a beauty pageant contestant in an Indianapolis hotel room in 1991. He served three years in prison and was released in March 1995. Indiana officials say they will wait to see what happens in Maryland before deciding whether to revoke his probation. The story also implicates two other past IOC presidents - Henri de Baillet- Latour of Belgium and Sigfrid Edstrom of Sweden. The story in the Times uses the current bribery scandal engulfing IOC president Juan Antonio Samaranch as a backdrop, suggesting the problem facing the Olympic leadership is "deeper, older and more profound than what has been presented as a shabby case of some Sydney and Salt Lake City payoffs for IOC votes." The Times drew on the resources of the Simon Wiesenthal Center, a Los Angeles organization devoted to keeping alive the memory of the Holocaust and combating human rights abuses. "Leaders of the Olympics violated their own rules; they sold their souls," said Rabbi Marvin Hier, dean and founder of the center. "They injected politics into sports and they fudged the lines between business and amateurism." Brundage was the head of the U.S. Olympic Committee at the time of the Berlin Games, an infamous Olympics that became a showcase for Nazi Germany. The Times reports the German Olympic Committee assured Brundage that his Chicago construction company would receive the bid to help build the German Embassy in Washington. However, the embassy was not built then because of World War II. Baillet-Latour was IOC president from 1925-42. The Times, acknowledging the difficulty in obtaining details, says his family ran a Belgian bank that was taken over by Deutsche Bank, which helped finance Auschwitz. Edstrom succeeded Baillet-Latour as IOC president in 1942. The Times, citing research by the center, says he wrote Brundage in 1933, complaining that U.S. Jews "cause us so much trouble" and make it "impossible for our German friends to carry out the expensive preparations for the Olympic Games if all this unrest prevails." The G-7 met this weekend in Bonn and made it clear that major help for Russia is not going to be forthcoming without the implementation of impossible reforms. Russia made it clear that it was going to stand against the U.S. and the West on the three critical issues of the week. Russia let the U.S. know that it would oppose any stationing of NATO troops in Kosovo without Serb permission, and it would also oppose air strikes. Leaks appeared throughout Western newspapers about Russian arms sales to Iraq. We believe that these reports were deliberate leaks from Moscow and Minsk designed to warn the West. The Russians condemned the Turkish invasion of Iraq, and a Russian General said that the S-300 missiles shipped to Armenia were designed to protect the CIS from Turkey and NATO. At the same time, high-level meetings were being held with German and Japanese leaders. Russia is putting pressure on these two countries, and particularly Germany, to get the West to provide financial help to Russia. The Russian lever on Germany: the threat of a return of a mini-Cold War. Analysis: Three crises moved along smartly during this past week. In Kosovo, the United States and NATO postponed an unchangeable deadline after which air strikes on Serbia would begin. The capture of a Kurdish leader by Turkey led to intense rioting throughout Europe, a severe governmental crisis in Greece, and denials by Israelis and Americans concerning involvement in the capture and handover of Ocalan to the Turks. In Iraq, daily air attacks against Iraqi air defense sites continues, with Iraq continuing to warn of undefined retaliation. A Shiite cleric in Iraq has been killed and the Iranians have now said that they hold Baghdad responsible for the death. No specific threat of retaliation was made. What we are seeing is an intensifying arc of crises running from the Balkans, through Asia Minor to the Persian Gulf. We have, in the past, speculated on coordination between Baghdad and Belgrade on a strategy designed to draw U.S. military forces deeper into geographically dispersed arenas by their intensifying inherently inconclusive conflicts. Whether there has been intentional collusion or these are merely separate crises running in parallel, the fact remains that U.S. forces are now engaged in daily combat operations in Iraq and currently stand a little over 48 hours away from operations against Serbia. In the meantime, almost as a bridge between the two, Turkey, an American ally, stands simultaneously exultant over the seizure of Ocalan, as well as under intensifying pressure from a number of quarters. There appears to us to be two common denominators to these crises. The first is obvious. The United States is deeply involved in each of them. The second is less obvious but increasingly apparent. Russia is increasingly involved in each of these crises, albeit in different ways. It is our view that the willingness of both the Iraqi and Serb governments to resist U.S. pressure and thereby incur the risks of American displeasure has a great deal to do with their perception of the new role that Russia is playing in the world. It also appears to us that the Turkish capture of Ocalan and its invasion of Iraq -- while not particularly triggered by perceptions of Russian policy -- will serve to hasten the general evolution of Russian foreign policy. The Russians are primarily focused on their internal political and economic condition. There is now a general sense that the West has effectively abandoned Russia. Except for making impossible demands for reform, demands that cannot be met given Russian economic and political reality, the West is no longer prepared to underwrite Russian reform efforts. This weekend, for example, the finance ministers and central bank governors of the G-7 group met in Bonn, Germany. Their general position on Russia was that no further assistance would be forthcoming without major reforms. Without that, the G-7 announced, Russia "is increasingly faced with the serious risk of accelerating inflation, further exchange rate weakening and continued economic retraction." The G-7 announced no steps whatever to solve Russia's problems, leaving it to the IMF to negotiate with the Russians. In parallel to the Bonn discussions, Russian President Boris Yeltsin held meetings with German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder on Friday. The Administrator of the Drug Enforcement Administration, our nation's lead agency in the war on drugs, Tom Constantine, issued an edict via USA Today (2/18/99) attacking " the nation" (whatever he means by that) as not having "either the will nor the resources to win a drug war." Well, Sheesh Tom, aren't you looking over your shoulder at what the rest of the drug war generals are doing with our resources against our will? It was only last November when Newt Gingrich and President Clinton raised each other's "bipartisan" hands in "victory" over their awarding $2 billion in taxpayer funds to every mass media communications corporation on the big board for already proven useless and even contra-productive anti-drug ads. I did not have to be a court qualified expert on Drug Trafficking for my mental rip-off alert siren to sound so loud that cars in front of me were pulling off the road. Brand Week, the leading advertising trade magazine, called the whole anti- drug ad campaign "suspect." In my own book Fight Back, (Dell Publications, October, 1991), recommended reading by the Clinton Administration for Communities with Drug Problems, I cited research indicating that the federal government already knows that these ad campaigns are useless and even contra productive. The Bainbridge Washington school district anti-drug campaign was just one of several examples I chose to prove the point. It was a model for the Bush-Bennett "victorious" anti-drug campaign of 1988-90 that leaned heavily on a three year intensive media ad campaign, (identical in content to the current $2 billion campaign) that was found, by the experts, to be contra-productive; that is the blatant hypocrisy of the ads seemed to cause kids to rebel and take the very drugs they were being browbeaten not to take. This sentiment was echoed by educators all over the land. For example, Robert Ryan, then, an administrator in the California Department of Education stated in a Wall Street Journal article titled "Even a School That Is a Leader in The Drug War, Grades Itself a Failure," 11/10/90, by Joseph Pereira, that "We've thrown $45 million over the last three years into drug education in our schools. But as of yet I don't think we can say what helps and what doesn't." And now, in spite of this kind of experience all over the country, our "leaders" are spending $2 billion in one year? As Mr. Constantine pointed out in the USA Today article, the Drug Enforcement Administration, our nation's lead agency in the war on drugs only has a budget of $1.4 billion. Wouldn't it be ironic that DEA had to go to Disney or Dream Works, (President Clinton's future employer) for more enforcement money? Hey, I've seen weirder things happen when I was on the job. How ridiculously high has this corporate welfare with our hard-earned dollars gone? To put this $2 billion dollar expenditure in context, consider the following: In a recent AP release (October 17) entitled "Ad Spending Continues To Climb" it was pointed out that advertising spending was up 9.7% from last year. The largest advertiser listed was General Motors, spending an approximate $1.1 billion on print, TV and radio ads. But AP left out one even bigger spenderThe Partnership for a Drug Free America. The real difficult part for me to accept, being a career law enforcement officer who lost both a son and a brother to drugs, came when some of my old colleagues frustrated experts in the Drug Enforcement Administration who speak to me on conditions of anonymity because I am cheaper and more reliable than a psychiatrist told me that the $2 billion doled out to mainstream media could have bought every single coca leaf grown in South America this year and saved us about $14 billion in enforcement expenditures, and untold lives. And not one of our drug war generals even questions the efficacy of this mountain of our money moving directly into the coffers of giant corporations without one dollar going into the drug ravaged communities that need it the most? And why is that not a single representative of mainstream media will publish a complaint like this one? Simple folks: They're getting the money. No Mr. Constantine, when you say that "the nation" lacks will and resources to fight your drug war, what you really mean is that we lack honesty and integrity in both our leadership and the so-called Fourth

Whether it was the sight of so many eminent British historians of the rightwing persuasion gathered at a London hotel, or the excitement of a free flight from Santiago, the claque's whooping and hollering quickly reduced yesterday's event to a boisterous political rally. Even Paul Johnson, the Daily Mail commentator, found their enthusiasm a little hard to take. "It is a tradition of British press conferences not to applaud," he mumbled. His call for decorum was made in vain. He and Lord Lamont were feted by the Chileans, but they reserved their biggest cheer for Robin Harris, an aide to Baroness Thatcher. It was his pamphlet, The Tale of Two Chileans: Pinochet and Allende, that the press conference was launching. It had been written to set the record straight, said Mr Harris, who is a former head of the Conservative research department. Far from being a brutal dictator, Augusto Pinochet had "saved" Chile from the Marxist Salvador Allende. Gen Pinochet's police force, the Dina, might have murdered and tortured people, but there was no evidence the general had been involved, said Mr Harris. He wanted to explode the "myth of sainthood" which surrounded President Allende, who, Mr Harris alleged, had committed suicide in 1973 during the military coup. The president had lived in luxury while his people had starved, said Mr Harris, and Gen Pinochet had seized power reluctantly. Lord Lamont, who appeared slightly surprised when Mr Johnson introduced him as "a very distinguished" former chancellor of the exchequer, said he had met the general on Monday evening and found him in excellent spirits - "as you would expect of the good, brave and honourable soldier that he is". "Bravo, Bravo!" shouted the crowd. And so it continued. Mr Johnson pointed out that the demonisation of Gen Pinochet had been the most successful and mendacious propaganda exercise of the 20th century - "the last great triumph of the Soviet machine," he boomed. Gen Pinochet could be accused of bad management and bad judgment, but nothing else. "There have been countless attempts to link him to human rights atrocities, but nobody has provided a single scrap of evidence." Then there were questions from the floor. How many were killed or tortured? asked one journalist. And were their deaths acceptable, a price worth paying to crush the left? There was a moment of quiet; the panel fidgeted. Mr Johnson broke the silence. Avoiding the first question, he said that he believed the general had saved many thousands if not hundreds of thousands of lives by preventing a descent into chaos. And neither did Mr Harris appear to know how many people had died.

Hyping Multos and Smartcard for Windows With its embedded microprocessor, a smart card is, in effect, a computer the size of a credit card. And like all computers, it needs an operating system. Until recently, these operating systems have been proprietary, with different applications running under different operating systems. This means the operating system used by, say, a smart phone card, will be different to one used for storing health records. There are estimated to be between 80 and 100 proprietary smart card operating systems in use worldwide. But several multi-application smart card operating systems are being developed that are set to transform the smart card market. "Any industry based on proprietary operating systems doesn't make a lot of sense," says Michael Keegan, chief executive of Mondex International, a subsidiary of MasterCard. Multi-application smart cards are not new. But the new operating systems promise to change the way this type of card is produced. Traditionally, a smart card manufacturer has carried out the fabrication process and downloaded the smart card application and operating system before shipping the card to the issuer. Although this method offers a one-stop shop for smart card production, it also means that if the issuer wants to add or remove an application, a new smart card has to be made. But multi-application operating systems will allow several applications to be placed on a smart card at any time. "Application developers need not issue their own card, but could piggy-back on another organisation's card," says Duncan Brown, head of research at Ovum (North America), a technology and telecommunications research company. "Applications can be downloaded after the card has been issued to cardholders, which reduces the cost of updates and of adding new functionality to the existing card," he says. "The balance of power has shifted from the smart card manufacturers to smart card developers." "Imagine a retailer runs a loyalty programme for three months," says Nick Habgood, chief executive of Maosco, a smart card consortium. "This application could be loaded on to a smart card, via telephone or the internet, and be removed from the card at the end of the period." Another benefit is the reduction in cost, says Mr Habgood. "A Mondex [electronic cash] card used to cost around $7 to $8 (£4-£5) to produce and that's just for a single application. But a multi-application smart card could be made for around $4. If the cost is spread among several smart card issuers, then it only costs you $1 per user to issue a smart card." Several multi-application technologies are jostling for position in the market. One is JavaCard, produced by JavaSoft, a division of Sun Microsystems. Java is a programming language that allows programs to run on computers using different operating systems, and JavaCard employs the same concept. JavaCard sits between the smart card application and the card's operating system, allowing applications to run under different hardware systems. JavaCard is supported by several companies, including Visa, Bull, Toshiba and Motorola, and Visa has run a JavaCard trial in Singapore. But JavaCard has its critics. "It has promised more than it has delivered," says Mr Brown. "It's a specification rather than an operating system and different manufacturers have interpreted it in different ways. This means there's no guarantee that applications will run on different JavaCard products." Another problem is that applications operating under JavaCard run more slowly than when using the underlying operating system. JavaCard also requires more powerful smart cards than those in use today. Mr Brown believes it will be a year before JavaCard becomes a viable smart card system. A rival approach is Multos (multi-application operating system). This has been developed by Mondex, which has handed over the standard to Maosco, whose members include Gemplus, Hitachi, Siemens-Nixdorf and Motorola. Multos offers a high level of security. This feature is important, because card issuers need to be confident their applications cannot be accessed by another party sharing the same smart card. Multos' powerful security has led to various financial organisations supporting the standard, including Europay, American Express and MasterCard. This year Hitachi and Siemens shipped the first commercial samples of Multos cards, and more than 250 application developers have taken a Multos licence. Last October, however, Microsoft announced its Smart Card for Windows operating system. Its applications include access to corporate networks, electronic cash and online transactions, such as home shopping. That, in a nutshell, is the mission of the Alternate Joint Communications Center. The mountain happens to be known as Raven Rock, and the masses are the strategic nuclear war fighters of the United States of America. "Site-R" is the location designator for a major US military bunker located inside Raven Rock Mountain, next to the community of Fountain Dale, near Blue Ridge Summit in Adams County Pennsylvania. The complex is also known as "the underground Pentagon," and affectionately to its personnel as "the Rock" or "the Hole," but the official name is the Alternate Joint Communications Center (AJCC). Over radio circuits, the facility is known as WAR-46 (permanent callsign), and MARCONI (permanent callword). The site is most well known as housing the Alternate National Military Command Center (ANMCC), and the Site-R complex is often referred to as being the ANMCC. However, the ANMCC is just a specific facility and mission within the Alternate Joint Communications Center. The ANMCC is now officially known as National Military Command Center - Site-R. HISTORY The AJCC became operational on 30 June 1953, a little over two years after the construction plans were approved by the Joint Chiefs of Staff. The initial concept of an emergency relocation site for the Pentagon was proposed in a May 15,1948 memorandum to Secretary of Defense James V. Forrestal by his senior military advisors responsible for war planning and preparedness -- the Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS). The Cold War had just begun, in March of 1948 President Truman even announced to Congress that the USSR and communism was a clear present threat to the USA. With their new TU-4 bombers (exact copies of the US B-29) JCS were concerned that the Soviets would soon be capable of a Pearl Harbor-style sneak attack on Washington would decimate America's senior military command capability. The Pentagon was soft-target, easily recognizable by high altitude bombers, and it was assumed that the enemy -- the USSR -- would have intercontinental ballistic missiles at some point in the 1950s, though it caught the U.S. by surprise when the Russians detonated their first nuclear weapon on 29 August, 1949. One of the location requirements that the alternate site had to meet was to be located far enough from Washington DC that a concentrated attack on Washington wouldn't damage the bunker. Yet another was that the site still be close enough to the Washington area so that the Joint Chiefs of Staff, their support personnel, known as the Joint Staff, and other senior military and civilian officials could be quickly evacuated to it by ground transportation or helicopter. A further complication in this 'not to close, not too far' location strategy was that the facility shouldn't be situated near the plethora of other important military and federal government sites which would probably be targeted -- the Norfolk Virginia navy facilities, Andrews Air Force Base in Camp Springs, Maryland, etc. Placement inside a mountain provides several advantages, such as: Less likely to be observed during construction than digging a big pit into flat ground. Easier to tunnel sideways deep into granite than dig downward deep into soil. The mountain interior provides a natural equivalent to building a facility with thousand foot thick hardened concrete walls. Top of the mountain can be used as an antenna site, eliminating the need for large antenna towers. While several sites were studied, Raven Rock was clearly the best in terms of location from DC, and geological factors (super hard greenstone granite composition). Additionally, a perfect support base -- Camp Ritchie, was just a few miles away in Cascade Maryland. President Truman gave final approval for the 'Fort Ritchie - Raven Rock Site' project in May of 1950, and the Department of Defense started acquiring 718 acres of land from over 30 individual property holders. While most of the land was sold to the US Government in 1950, transfers via condemnation weren't complete until 1954. Initial wording of the condemnation proceedings were vague. The United States needed the land "...to adequately provide for the establishment of facilities for the use of the Department of the Army and for other military uses incident thereto. ...and other such uses as may be authorized by Congress or Executive Order. ...lands are required for immediate use." (CNNS, 02/22/99) -- Howdy, pardner!Here's some more
rootin-tootin tales from the Wild, Wild East. The wild, wild
East was an untamed land, east of the Mississippi River, filled
with colorful characters in the 19th century. At your video
store you can get lots of movies about it: look for the category
"Easterns."
RICHARD LAWRENCE: Back in 1835, Lawrence jumped from behind a
pillar and pointed two pistols at Marshall Andrew Jackson ("Old
Hickory.") Lawrence was sort of a "lone nut," supposedly not part
of any outlaw gang, supposed to have been "an out-of-work house
painter." Lawrence pulled the trigger on the first pistol. The
cap exploded but Jackson was not hit. "Old Hickory" raised his
cane and headed toward Lawrence. Lawrence pulled the trigger on
his other pistol, but it too misfired.
Marshall Jackson believed that Lawrence had been part of a
Whig conspiracy to murder him. (The Whigs were a notorious gang
of the time.) But since Jackson had dared to defy and defeat
plans to renew the charter of the Second Bank of the United
States, it seems the real attempted assassins must have been
European big-money gangsters.
JOHN WILKES BOOTH: John Booth belonged to a secret society, a
kind of gang, called The Knights of the Golden Circle. He was
also part of the Confederate Secret Service, sort of a different
gang, but then again sort of the same gang as the Knights. (A
farm boy named Wesley, claims to be a medium, has it that
Secretary of War Stanton also belonged to the Knights of the
Golden Circle.)
John Booth did shoot Marshall Abe Lincoln dead, that part's
true. But Booth got away and didn't die until 1903. The fake
Booth got sewn up in a horse blanket then was buried by the
Yankees in a secret grave. The real Booth committed suicide by
swallowing a lot of arsenic, in Oklahoma. The arsenic mummified
Booth's body, and it was displayed for years by a travelling
circus. Then, in the 1920s, a bunch of doctors autopsied the
mummified Booth and said that, in all likelihood, it was the real
John Wilkes Booth. After that, the mummified Booth disappeared.
Meanwhile, the body of the fake John Wilkes Booth got dug up,
in 1869, and re-buried, where it remains today. A few years ago,
some of Booth's kinfolks wanted to dig up the fake Booth and do
DNA tests, but a judge wouldn't let them.
Marshall Lincoln was guarded that night, at the theater, by
one man only, John F. Parker. But Parker wandered off downstairs
and had some beers. That made it a cinch for Booth to get at Old
Abe. Funny thing, but that guard who deserted his post in time of
war never got punished at all! (Mary Lincoln, the Marshall's
wife, accused Parker of treachery.)
Well, we know that Booth was just the trigger-man. But which
gang was really behind the killing of Marshall Lincoln? Some say
it was the Catholic Gang. Some say it was the London Gang. But
I say it was the Wall Street Gang.
CHARLES GUITEAU: He was a lawyer, admitted to the Illinois bar
in 1868. Guiteau worked for Horace Greeley's campaign to be
Marshall, in 1872. That puts him as one of the Democrat Gang.
But he switched over to the Republican Gang in 1880, when he
worked for the Garfield for Marshall campaign. On May 18, 1881,
an "impression" came over Guiteau's mind "like a flash," that he
should murder Marshall Garfield. (Same with John Schrank, who
shot at former-Marshall "Teddy" Roosevelt in 1912; same with
Guiteau: both had their murder plans born in a trance.) Guiteau
had this idea in his head, that came to him sudden, "like a
flash," that Garfield had wrecked the Republican Gang. The new
Marshall Garfield was appointing "Half Breeds" to important
patronage jobs; for example, a "Half Breed" (a mulatto?) had been
appointed Customs collector in New York and two Republican
senators had resigned in protest. On July 2, 1881, Guiteau shot
Garfield twice with a .44-caliber pistol. Guiteau wanted a
"Stalwart" -- Assistant-Marshall Chester Arthur -- to be the new
Marshall and save the Republicans from "Half Breeds." Rumors of
a conspiracy were rampant. Garfield finally died on September
19, 1881. Guiteau received many letters from admirers, who
applauded his murder of Marshall Garfield. At his trial, it
seemed that the government needed for Guiteau to take the fall;
the prosecuting attorneys coached witnesses, bribed experts, and
suppressed documents which otherwise might have led to "not
guilty by reason of insanity." Guiteau was found guilty and
hanged, on June 30, 1882.

And then there is the drug war... A personal injury attorney on another email list complained about air- bags, not for the usual reasons that keep popping up here there, but because they prevent the serious injuries that keep his bank account nice plump. The mass media have largely maintained silence about the genetic engineering revolution in agriculture, and government regulators have imposed no labeling requirements, so the public has little or no knowledge that genetically altered foods are already being sold in grocery stores everywhere, and that soon few traditional forms of food may remain on the shelves. Genetic engineering is the process whereby genes of one species are implanted in another species, to give new traits to the recipient. Traditionally the movement of genes has only been possible between closely-related species. Under the natural order established by the Creator, there was no way dog genes could get into cats. Now, however, genetic engineering allows scientists to play God, removing genes from a trout or a mosquito and implanting them in a tomato, for better or for worse. Three federal agencies regulate genetically-engineered crops and foods -- the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The heads of all three agencies are on record with speeches that make them sound remarkably like cheerleaders for genetic engineering, rather than impartial judges of a novel and powerful new technology, and all three agencies have set policies that: ** No public records need be kept of which farms are using genetically-engineered seeds; ** Companies that buy from farmers and sell to food manufacturers and grocery chains do not need to keep genetically-engineered crops separate from traditional crops, so purchasers have no way to avoid purchasing genetically engineered foods; ** No one needs to label any crops, or any food products, with information about their genetically engineered origins, so consumers have no way to exercise informed choice in the grocery store. Beyond the barbed wire, Hawkins' wife and young daughter were fast asleep in a creaky billet that soldiers had hastily assembled with green lumber. A philosopher, not a physicist, Hawkins was a lonely man that summer morning, as other ''white badge'' insiders took their places miles away to witness the biggest scientific experiment of the 20th century: The test blast of the atomic bomb. So he waited at the window, and watched. At 5:29:45 a.m., a brilliant flash of white light spread silently across the desert horizon. ''I wonder when we'll hear from them,'' the secretary mused, not looking up. ''Any minute now,'' Hawkins replied. Then, in the quiet of this momentous dawn, the teletype began to clatter. Oblivious, Homer gobbles a glowing pastry and extends the box with the invitation, ''Sprinkles?'' So the Atomic Century ends. Not with a bang, but with a snicker. What started as a theoretical journey inside brilliant scientific minds, and literally exploded into a fundamental issue facing humankind, has wound up as a punchline. How? ''I think it's because a lot of things were done wrong, and other things didn't have to be done at all,'' said University of Wisconsin physicist Robert March. March is a prize-winning author who studied under Nobel laureate Enrico Fermi, a Manhattan Project collaborator who produced the first self-sustaining nuclear chain reaction in 1942. ''Everybody has a right to feel ambivalent about the horror hanging over our heads with nuclear weapons,'' March said. ''And the weapons builders thought they had to give nuclear power to the world almost as an atonement for their sins. They pushed the technology prematurely.'' The Atomic Century actually was 25 centuries in the making. In the 5th century B.C., the Greek philosopher Democritus suggested that matter could be divided into finer and finer pieces until a fundamental unit was reached. The word atom comes from the Greek word ''atomos,'' meaning indivisible. In 1803, British chemist John Dalton described atoms as the unique constituents of the chemical elements. All atoms of one element, say hydrogen, were alike and weighed the same, Dalton determined. But all hydrogen atoms were fundamentally different from atoms of the other elements. It wasn't until the turn of this century that experiments hinted at the power trapped inside the atom. In 1896, French physicist Antoine Henri Becquerel discovered radioactivity by exposing photographic film to uranium. Radiation is the energy given off by atoms. A handful of unstable heavy metals emit energy when their nuclei disintegrate. In 1903, Marie and Pierre Curie realized that uranium ore contained more radioactivity than could be accounted for by the uranium itself. From tons of ore, they isolated small amounts of two highly radioactive new elements - radium and polonium. They shared the Nobel Prize in physics in 1903. Marie Curie won the chemistry Nobel in 1911 for describing the new elements' properties. In 1905, Albert Einstein began publishing equations describing the atom and the forces controlling it. For the first time, he treated matter and energy as interchangeable. His signature equation, E=mc2 (energy equals mass times the velocity of light squared), was the cornerstone for controlling the release of energy from the atom. Incredible forces bound the atom tightly. If an atom was split, its two parts would weigh less than the whole, he reasoned. The difference was energy released. In 1938-39, German and Austrian scientists in Berlin bombarded uranium with neutrons and detected the emergence of much lighter elements. Physicist Lise Meitner determined the uranium atoms had split. She named the reaction fission. It was a scientific triumph, but an alarming development. What to do with Einstein's energy, once liberated? Unlike much of science, it was no idle question. The world was mobilizing for war. An extremely hazardous pesticide, EDB was banned by the US Environmental Protection Agency in 1983.=20 But in 1991, the composition of jet fuel used by commercial and military jet aircraft in the U.S. was changed from JP4 to somewhat less flammable JP8. A Department of Defence source says the move "has saved some lives" in air crashes. Ethylene dibromide is a key component of JP8.=20 The 1991 Chemical Hazards of the Workplace warns that repeated exposure to low levels of ethylene dibromide results in "general weakness, vomiting, diarrhea, chest pains, coughing and shortness of breath, upper respiratory tract irritation" and respiratory failure caused by swelling of the lymph glands in the lungs. "Deterioration of the heart, liver and kidneys, and hemorrhages in the respiratory tract," can also result from prolonged contact with JP8.=20 According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's hazardous materials list: "Ethylene dibromide is a carcinogen and must be handled with extreme caution." A even-page summary of this pesticide's extreme toxicity notes that EDB may also damage the reproductive system. According to the EPA, "Exposure can irritate the lungs, repeated exposure may cause bronchitis, development of cough, and shortness of breath. It will damage the liver and kidneys".=20 Mark Witten, a respiratory physiologist at the University of Arizona in Tucson where an official US Air Force study on JP8 was carried out, told Scientist in March, 1998 that crew chiefs "seem to have more colds, more bronchitis, more chronic coughs than the people not exposed to jet fuel."=20 EDB is 6.5-times heavier than air. Unlike normal contrails, the thick white streamers being sprayed from downward-pointing tailbooms over at least 39 states does not dissipate, but spreads into an overcast that refracts a purple color in sunlight and appears suddenly as an oily film in puddles and ponds.=20 Hundreds of photographs and videotapes made by ground observers show pairs or larger formations of aircraft spreading a white mist that thickens and drifts toward the round. Often times, it isn't wise to confuse the messenger for the message, and there are some who insist that North is still an excellent researcher. However, the reality is that North's "expertise" is non-existent: on his own site, he readily admits "I'm not a programmer. My Ph.D. is in history." I have personally seen craft of the not from Earth category on more than one Occasion. My most impressive sighting occurred in 1989 while camped in the woods outside of Grants Pass, Oregon. I witnessed a luminous object come over the ridge that made no sound and was extremely bright. The object moved out of sight before I could get my camera out to take a picture of it. However the next day I was on my way Back to Portland, Oregon and heard a radio account of and object that touched down near Portland, Oregon and was witnessed to travel south south west directly in line with the location I was camped out that Particular night in October 1989. In closing I would definitely say that yes the Government is covering up a huge issue of alien contact and I future have reason to believe that parts of the Worlds Governments probably do have treaties with beings or races from other worlds. I also have seen many a military installation with huge underground facilities. I Have even seen a map of a tunnel network within the continental USA that stretches from coast to coast and in some places across the border into Canada and Mexico. The location I saw the map was in a mobile trailer that had a stair case built inside of it. The mobile trailer was or still is located at the North La Junta, Colorado airport in a USA Air Force radar site installation. From the outside one would not have any reason to suspect a tunnel was even underneath the mobile trailer. Since it was of common construction type with skirting around the bottom of the trailer going all the way to the ground. A few messages ago, Stan first put forth the idea of mass inoculation for the US public who have witnessed the jets flying overhead in repeated crisscross-cross patterns expelling "something". For those of us outside the US, please read on, as this same activity will probably be coming to a country near and dear to you - yours. Let's backtrack a bit. Two years ago, there was the outcry from Larry Harris on threats of anthrax. Many people fluffed it off. Also, two years ago, Stan spoke with Mr. Harris so we had a pretty good understanding of his case, but at the time, we spoke little of it. Anthrax threats became a hot topic for a while on the Internet and the radio talk shows, then the dust settled. Shortly after Harris' initial newsbreak, there were numerous reports of Iraqi women found in the mid-West U.S. with vials of the anthrax virus hidden in their vaginal tracts. Next came quiet reports of intermittent contrail activity, still two years ago. Now, over the past month, the contrail spraying is in full force over the US and other countries like Canada, Australia, the United Kingdom will probably see this as well. OK, what is being sprayed? Flat out, we don't know, but let's look at this logically. Communities are being sprayed and people are becoming quite ill. One friend from this group wrote saying she's rarely sick, but now she's got this flu which she describes as being hit with "four different illnesses one right after the other." First it hit her respiratory system and she literally couldn't breathe, then she was delirious, then dizziness and vomiting, with aches, pains and swollen glands. Not exactly a picnic is it... Many folks have expressed the opinion that it is something our government is doing to us and not for any good purpose. The question we must ask is WHY would our governments intentionally kill off great masses of its population and its livestock? This makes no sense. Now before you stop reading right here and feel compelled to send us an email, read the rest of the commentary. This is OUR OPINION, not gospel, OK? The contrails and other things are depositing organics across America. BUT, these things are being done to protect Americans from an almost unavoidable biowarfare attack which will come from the Middle East. To inoculate the entire population officially, and out in the open, would not be a good idea for several reasons: 1) There isn't enough time to inject every living thing including livestock (which can and do carry anthrax). 2) There isn't enough time to manufacture enough antibiotic DNA material to save everyone so some folks must be sacrificed. 3) The public would panic if they knew the risks. Thus they would start to break into anarchy and the American business and industrial complexes would tumble before the biowarfare even started. 4) Panic-buying of food, water purification, weapons and survival gear would overload the manufacturing capability of America and would create social unrest that would lead to the anarchy. 5) Society breakdown would precipitate fighting as soon as the anarchy stage started to become evident. More than likely you would see tribal groups rebuild along religious, racial and economic lines. There are more reasons, but these are the main ones. The only way to effectively TRY to beat a biowarfare attack on America, or any country, would be to inoculate through the water or air or food chain or all of the preceding. Two weeks ago, the [Journal of the American Medical Association] released a highly-publicized report providing conclusive, scientific proof that Americans are, in precise medical terms, a bunch of linguini weenies. Practically every media outlet in the country ran with the story, since everybody loves this kind of news: if you do have trouble getting, er, perpendicular, it makes you feel like we're all in the same tiny little boat, while if you stand at attention at ease, shall we say, it makes you feel like captain of the ship. There was just one minor detail about the study that the [Journal] neglected to mention: the labcoats who wrote it were also paid consultants to Pfizer, the people who make Viagra. Oh, gee, there's a shock. One thing that keeps a lot of people from buying Viagra is feeling ashamed to admit there's a problem... and all of a sudden out comes a study saying lots of people have the problem, so there's no reason to feel ashamed. Coincidence? Yeah, maybe. That doesn't mean the study isn't accurate. The authors were paid by Pfizer to review clinical trial data on Viagra before the drug was submitted for government approval. There's no direct connection to the study published in [JAMA], and it's entirely possible that the scientists' financial interests in no way affected their methodology and conclusions. Let's hope and assume so. But even so, the [Journal], which was informed of the connection, should have disclosed the information about the researchers' previous work for the sex drug manufacturer. If they had, the only medicine a lot of people would be taking as a result might be a big grain of salt. ___ Thanks to a new designer label, the Lizard Women of Beverly Hills might no longer adorn their scaly hides in fur. If your neighborhood isn't afflicted with rampaging Lizard Women, stay with me. I had never seen one myself until just a few weeks ago. As of last month, I now record my radio commentaries in a fancy studio just one block away from Rodeo Drive, known around world as Opulence Ground Zero. It still feels a little weird to spew forth my progressive babble from a studio fit for the Sultan of Brunei. I'd worry that I might sell out, except full-body immersion in the excesses displayed on the streets surrounding my lovely new workplace is very possibly making me even more radical. It's quite another to drive an ex-girlfriend to a job interview at an L.A. public school which doubles as an enormous ad hoc graffiti mural, and then later go to work just fifty yards from an art gallery where similar, less inspired abstracts sell for more than the price of the school itself. Where I'm from, aging is simple : your body gradually becomes triangular, "Diagnosis Murder" reruns suddenly become interesting, and then one fine morning you wake up in a silk jogging suit. Shortly thereafter they close the lid. Aging is considered inevitable, and it's accepted with dignity, grace, and black socks with shorts. In Beverly Hills, however, aging is merely the process of surgically removing ever-larger pieces of your own face. This is the only place in the world where "paper or plastic" refers to the texture of your current skin. Half of these women have their faces pulled so tight they can't even blink because their eyelids are holding their ears on. (Cue "Mutual Of Omaha's Wild Kingdom" theme music.) These, my friends, are the Lizard Women of Beverly Hills. And this time of year, they are most commonly decked out in the latest animal furs to keep their cold-blooded bodies warm through the arctic L.A. winter. But maybe not for long. To do so we must return to the years just after the end of World War II and, of course, a man named Dulles. The irony of Nixon's political career ending with a cover-up can only be appreciated with the knowledge that this turbulent career also began with one. Loftus and Aarons state that: "According to several of our sources among the 'old spies,' Richard Nixon's political career began in 1945, when he was the navy officer temporarily assigned to review . . . captured Nazi documents." The documents in question revealed the wartime record of Karl Blessing, "former Reichsbank officer and then head of the Nazi oil cartel, Kontinentale Ol A.G. 'Konti' was in partnership with Dulles's principal Nazi client, I.G. Farben. Both companies had despicable records regarding their treatment of Jews during the Holocaust. After the war Dulles not only 'lost' Blessings Nazi party records, but he helped peddle a false biography in the ever-gullible 'New York Times.'" The authors' sources reveal that not only did Dulles help cover up his Nazi client's record, he "personally vouched for Blessing as an anti-Nazi in order to protect continued control of German oil interests in the Middle East. Blessing's Konti was the Nazi link to Iben Saud [King of Saudi Arabia] and Aramco [the Arabian- American Oil Company]. If Blessing went down, he could have taken a lot of people with him, including Allen Dulles. The cover-up worked, except that U.S. Naval Intelligence scrutinized a set of the captured Konti records." According to the "old spies," Allen Dulles made a deal with the young navy officer who was reviewing the Konti files - Richard Nixon. Nixon would help Dulles bury the Konti files. In return, Allen Dulles "arranged to finance [Nixon's] first congressional campaign against Jerry Voorhis." (1) Dulles's support for Nixon paid off in 1947 when, as the freshman congressman from California, he "saved John Foster Dulles considerable embarrassment by privately pointing out that confidential government files showed that one of Foster's foundation employees, Alger Hiss, was allegedly a Communist. The Dulles brothers took Nixon under their wing and escorted him on a tour of Fascist 'freedom fighter' operations in Germany, apparently in anticipation that the young congressman would be useful after Dewey became president." [He would be useful anyway, despite the fact that incumbent President Truman won reelection in 1948, defeating Dewey.] (2) After Truman's victory, write the authors, "Nixon became Allen Dulles's mouthpiece in Congress. Both he and Senator Joseph McCarthy received volumes of classified information to support the charge that the Truman administration was filled with 'pinkos.' When McCarthy went too far in his Communist investigations, it was Nixon who worked with his next-door neighbor, CIA director Bedell Smith, to steer the investigations away from the intelligence community. "The CIA was grateful for Nixon's assistance, but did not know the reason for it. Dulles had been recruiting Nazis under the cover of the State Department's Office of Policy Coordination, whose chief, Frank Wisner, had systematically recruited the Eastern European emigre networks that had worked first for the SS, then the British, and finally Dulles. "The CIA did not know it, but Dulles was bringing them to the United States less for intelligence purposes than for political advantage. The Nazis' job quickly became to get out the vote for the Republicans. One Israeli intelligence officer joked that when Dulles used the phrase 'Never Again,' he was not talking about the Holocaust but about Dewey's narrow loss to Truman. In the eyes of the Israelis, Allen Dulles was the demon who infected Western intelligence with Nazi recruits. "In preparation for the 1952 Eisenhower-Nixon campaign, the Republicans formed an Ethnic Division, which, to put it bluntly, recruited the 'displaced Fascists' who arrived in the United States after World War II. Like similar migrant organizations in several Western countries, the Ethnic Division attracted a significant number of Central and Eastern European Nazis, who had been recruited by the SS as political and police leaders during the Holocaust. Wherever he turned, George found that the influence of the Dulles brothers was already there. Even when he fled to Texas to become a successful businessman on his own, he ran into the pirates of Wall Street. "One of Allen Dulles's secret spies inside the Democratic party later became George Bush's partner in the Mexican oil business. Edwin Pauley, a California oil man, was . . . one of Dulles's covert agents in the Roosevelt and Truman administrations . . . a 'big business' Democrat. . . ." Among the key posts held by Pauley were: treasurer of the Democratic National Committee, director of the Democratic convention in 1944 and, after Truman's election, Truman appointed him the "Petroleum Coordinator of Lend-Lease Supplies for the Soviet Union and Britain." Just after the end of World War II, "in April 1945 Truman appointed Pauley as the U.S. representative to the Allied Reparations Committee, with the rank of ambassador," as well as "industrial and commercial advisor to the Potsdam Conference, 'where his chief task was to renegotiate the reparations agreements formulated at Yalta.' As one historian noted, the 'oil industry has always watched reparations activities carefully.' There was a lot of money involved, and much of it belonged to the Dulles brothers' clients." At the same time, report Loftus and Aarons, "the Dulles brothers were still shifting Nazi assets out of Europe for their clients as well as for their own profit. They didn't want the Soviets to get their hands on these assets or even know that they existed. Pauley played a significant role in solving this problem for the Dulles brothers. The major part of Nazi Germany's industrial assets was located in the zones occupied by the West's forces. As Washington's man on the ground, Pauley managed to deceive the Soviets for long enough to allow Allen Dulles to spirit much of the remaining Nazi assets out to safety. . . . "Pauley, a key player in the plan to hide the Dulles brothers' Nazi assets, then moved into another post where he could help them further. After successfully keeping German assets in Fascist hands, Pauley was given the job of 'surveying Japan's assets and determining the amount of its war debt.' Again, it was another job that was crucial to the Dulles clique's secret financial and intelligence operations." (2) After Pauley retired from government work he went back to being an independent oil man. Loftus and Aarons state that: "In 1958 he founded Pauley Petroleum which: . . . teamed up with Howard Hughes to expand oil production in the Gulf of Mexico. "Pauley Petroleum discovered a highly productive offshore petroleum reserve and in 1959 became involved in a dispute with the Mexican Government, which considered the royalties from the wells to be too low. "According to our sources in the intelligence community, the oil dispute was really a shakedown of the CIA by Mexican politicians. Hughes and Pauley were working for the CIA from time to time, while advancing their own financial interests in the lucrative Mexican oil fields. Pauley, say several of our sources, was the man who invented an intelligence money-laundering system in Mexico, which was later refined in the 1970s as part of Nixon's Watergate scandal. At one point CIA agents used Pemex, the Mexican government's oil monopoly, as a business cover at the same time Pemex was being used as a money laundry for Pauley's campaign contributions. As we shall see, the Mexican-CIA connection played an important part in the development of George Bush's political and intelligence career. . . . "Pauley, say the 'old spies,' was the man who brought all the threads of the Mexican connection together. He was Bush's business associate, a front man for Dulles's CIA [Allen Dulles was CIA director then], and originator of the use of Mexican oil fronts to create a slush fund for Richard Nixon's various campaigns. . . . Bush Return to Table of Contents | Previous | Next EDWIN PAULEY "Try as he did," continue the authors, "George Bush could not get away from Dulles's crooked corporate network, which his grandfather and father had joined in the 1920s. Wherever he turned, George found that the influence of the Dulles brothers was already there. Even when he fled to Texas to become a successful businessman on his own, he ran into the pirates of Wall Street. "One of Allen Dulles's secret spies inside the Democratic party later became George Bush's partner in the Mexican oil business. Edwin Pauley, a California oil man, was . . . one of Dulles's covert agents in the Roosevelt and Truman administrations . . . a 'big business' Democrat. . . ." Among the key posts held by Pauley were: treasurer of the Democratic National Committee, director of the Democratic convention in 1944 and, after Truman's election, Truman appointed him the "Petroleum Coordinator of Lend-Lease Supplies for the Soviet Union and Britain." Just after the end of World War II, "in April 1945 Truman appointed Pauley as the U.S. representative to the Allied Reparations Committee, with the rank of ambassador," as well as "industrial and commercial advisor to the Potsdam Conference, 'where his chief task was to renegotiate the reparations agreements formulated at Yalta.' As one historian noted, the 'oil industry has always watched reparations activities carefully.' There was a lot of money involved, and much of it belonged to the Dulles brothers' clients." At the same time, report Loftus and Aarons, "the Dulles brothers were still shifting Nazi assets out of Europe for their clients as well as for their own profit. They didn't want the Soviets to get their hands on these assets or even know that they existed. Pauley played a significant role in solving this problem for the Dulles brothers. The major part of Nazi Germany's industrial assets was located in the zones occupied by the West's forces. As Washington's man on the ground, Pauley managed to deceive the Soviets for long enough to allow Allen Dulles to spirit much of the remaining Nazi assets out to safety. . . . "Pauley, a key player in the plan to hide the Dulles brothers' Nazi assets, then moved into another post where he could help them further. After successfully keeping German assets in Fascist hands, Pauley was given the job of 'surveying Japan's assets and determining the amount of its war debt.' Again, it was another job that was crucial to the Dulles clique's secret financial and intelligence operations." (2) After Pauley retired from government work he went back to being an independent oil man. Loftus and Aarons state that: "In 1958 he founded Pauley Petroleum which: . . . teamed up with Howard Hughes to expand oil production in the Gulf of Mexico. "Pauley Petroleum discovered a highly productive offshore petroleum reserve and in 1959 became involved in a dispute with the Mexican Government, which considered the royalties from the wells to be too low. "According to our sources in the intelligence community, the oil dispute was really a shakedown of the CIA by Mexican politicians. Hughes and Pauley were working for the CIA from time to time, while advancing their own financial interests in the lucrative Mexican oil fields. Pauley, say several of our sources, was the man who invented an intelligence money-laundering system in Mexico, which was later refined in the 1970s as part of Nixon's Watergate scandal. At one point CIA agents used Pemex, the Mexican government's oil monopoly, as a business cover at the same time Pemex was being used as a money laundry for Pauley's campaign contributions. As we shall see, the Mexican-CIA connection played an important part in the development of George Bush's political and intelligence career. . . . "Pauley, say the 'old spies,' was the man who brought all the threads of the Mexican connection together. He was Bush's business associate, a front man for Dulles's CIA [Allen Dulles was CIA director then], and originator of the use of Mexican oil fronts to create a slush fund for Richard Nixon's various campaigns. . . . "Although it is not widely known, Pauley, in fact, had been a committed, if 'secret,' Nixon supporter since 1960. It should be recalled that Nixon tried to conceal his Mexican slush fund during the Watergate affair by pressuring the CIA into a 'national security' cover-up. The CIA, to its credit, declined to participate. Unfortunately, others were so enmeshed in Pauley's work for Nixon

I happen to know several women who were once married to men, had their children, and were then abandoned after the divorce. These men never paid child-support, even claiming they had no assets. Some of these men, twenty or thirty years later, are now rolling clover, married to very wealthy women. Wouldn't it be wonderful if these women, who had been forced into years of great hardship, could go after these guys and get the alimony and child support that was owed them? Ask any lawyer. They will tell you it's way too late. That's a kind of "rape" too. And unbelievably common in our society.
