Now they oppose the Inupiats having the same rights to explore. *Myth: We need to save ANWRs oil for our grandchildren. Reality: It will supply our children and grandchildren. If the Coastal Plain was opened today it would be 7 to 10 years, and possibly longer, before the first oil reached American consumers. Oil from the Coastal Plain will supply America in a time when oil from foreign sources will certainly be more expensive and in shorter supply than today. *Myth: The Coastal Plain may have only a 200 day supply of oil. That is not worth developing. Reality: A 200 day supply is almost 4 billion barrels. The Coastal Plain probably contains much more oil, but it can be produced at a maximum rate of 2 million barrels per day (capacity of the trans-Alaska oil pipeline). Therefore, it could last for 25 years, and probably much longer. Dont be misled! *Myth: Development of the Coastal Plain will destroy the caribou. Comey was the only official overseeing special counsel Patrick Fitzgerald's leak investigation. With Attorney General Alberto Gonzales recused, department officials say they are still trying to resolve whom Fitzgerald will now report to. Associate Attorney General Robert McCallum is likely to be named as acting deputy A.G., a DOJ official who asked not to be identified because of the sensitivity of the matter tells Newsweek. But McCallum may be seen as having his own conflicts: he is an old friend of President Bush's and a member of his Skull and Bones class at Yale. But as it turns out, Newsweek's Michael Isikoff didn't get the story quite right, as the Associated Press explained today: David Margolis, a lawyer at the Justice Department for 40 years, was named Friday to oversee a special prosecutor's investigation of who in the Bush administration disclosed the name of an undercover CIA officer. Margolis, whose title is associate deputy attorney general, is taking the place of Deputy Attorney General James Comey, whose last day of work was Friday. Comey will be Lockheed Martin's new general counsel. Comey made the designation of Margolis. Attorney General Alberto Gonzales has stepped aside from the probe because he was White House counsel when Valerie Plame's name was leaked in 2003 and he has testified to the grand jury investigating the unauthorized disclosure. But there's no need to settle for that dry description when Mark A.R. Kleiman actually knows the guy: On his way out the door, Deputy Attorney General James Comey, who chose junkyard dog Patrick Fitzgerald to run the Plame scandal investigation, has chosen senior junkyard dog David Margolis to supervise Fitzgerald once Comey leaves. This is truly bad news for the bad guys. Margolis made his prosecutorial bones doing organized crime cases, eventually rising to Chief of the Organized Crime and Racketeering Section of the Justice Department's Criminal Division, from which position he supervised the seventeen Organized Crime Strike Forces which more or less won the war on the Mafia. (That's when I got to know him.) Margolis has a stratospheric IQ, has been known to wear Willie Nelson t-shirts to work, is used to long investigations using somewhat edgy investigative techniques, and can't be intimidated by anybody. Kleiman's first sentence nails it precisely -- the Mayberry Mafia somehow screwed up and hired someone who was serious about law and order to be John Ashcroft's second-in-command at the Justice Department, and that mistake may turn out to be their undoing. Both times when they undoubtedly hoped he'd appoint someone who knew how to cover up their crimes be a team player, he's named skilled prosecutors as gung-ho as he is. Somewhere, the Bushites must be kicking themselves! Maybe, maybe not ... Back in the time of Bill Clinton and Janet Reno (and Jamie Gorelick), Margolis' name pops up everywhere -- in the FBI vendetta against AIM and Leonard Pelltier, in Fostergate, Ruby Ridge, Waco, Whitewater ... Watching him, it's as though he's playing Columbo -- you feel he's onto something and obliquely asking all the right questions, with an independent frame of mind (as witness this quote from him: Anyone who thinks [the war on drugs] is primarily a law enforcement issue, they're smoking wacky tabacky) -- yet somehow it seems he's always prevented from acting effectively -- hemmed in on both sides, by the Justice Department's often-overzealous agenda and by the ability of those holding high government office to steer investigators away from the politically disadvantageous truth. (1) Margolis personally summed up the case against Randy Weaver as being muddy at best, yet he couldn't avoid supporting the prosecutor's request for the death penalty for Weaver, charged with murdering a law enforcement official. (2) Summoned to the crime scene at Vince Foster's death, Margolis had to stand idly by while the Park Police ran roughshod over the crime scene, and later, he couldn't do a damned thing when Clinton clean-up boy Bernie Nussbaum, obstructing justice, made off with damning evidence. (3) When Arthur Coia, head of the Laborers International Union who lavishly contributed to the Democratic National Committee, was being considered to head up a prestigious presidential commission, Margolis, acting on behalf of the Justice Department, personally telephoned Bill Clinton

This website has communicated further with the source, who seems credible. This is what the source posted: I am navy here in charlestoni know for a fact that the nurses in charge of the clinics in the hospital in north charleston, which is just a few blocks away from the harbor have freed up the doctors sched tomorrow so they can attend said drill. i was talking about this to a fellow corpsman and one of the head nurses said we weren't to talk about it, and that he had just freed up the docs to attend the drill. its not to be common knowledge he said. there where no other details discussed. Interviewing further the source, one of the games being played military spokesmen becomes apparent. You see, the Charleston Naval Base is based in the city of North Charleston, South Carolina. So when NORTHCOMM told the Charleston Post and Courier there were no drills scheduled for Charleston -- that didn't include North Charleston, which is a different city. North Charleston contains the Naval ports -- ports off Charleston. The Charleston Naval Base has been majorly downsized the past 15 years, so the largely abandoned facilities would be perfect for a drill like this. Moreover, the Charleston Naval Base in North Charleston, did pick up one major program since the downsizing, according to GlobalSecurity.org: The military remains a major industry in the Charleston area today, despite major downsizings. The 1995 round of Base Realignments and Closures resulted in the decision for Charleston to receive the Naval Nuclear Power Training Command transferring from Orlando, Florida, bringing with it 500 permanent active military jobs as well as 2,500 transient students attending the school each year. The Navy expects to have an estimated 7,800 active and civilian employees after the April '96 closure, with the 500 Power Training Command employees to be added by 1999. The NNPTC is in the Naval Weapons Center in Goose Creek, which is north of North Charleston and was originally established as the Charleston Naval Ammunition Depot. Very interesting.So, despite denials in the Charleston print and electronic press, indications are that military facilities in the Charleston area are drilling on Wednesday August 17th.
