But as supportive as I am of alternative therapies, herbs, essential oils, all that stuff, it doesn't change the fact that my thyroid is 7/8ths dead tissue which can never be restored, a condition which was very probably (according to my endocrinologist) brought about by the severe bouts of flu I only experienced AFTER my one and only flu shot. Some other products use animal bile and it sounds unappealing to me. As for thyroid assistance using herbals, kelp was strongly recommended to me by an herbalist. The iodine in kelp is helpful. Apparently we need more iodone than is usually suggested. If anyone is interested in a nutritional approach to helping thyroid function, I can look up the info in a good book, "Prescription for Nutritional Healing." -Caveat Lector- Most processed vitamins and minearals are not used by the body. The body is positvely charged, and NATURAL minerals taken in from plants grown in the rich mineral soil (if you can find any), is negatively charged. This makes the body accept them. The processed minearls are inheirently positively charged making them difficult or impossible to be used by the body. It is almost similar to a car battery, with it's positive and negative poles, or a magnet ,with it's opposites attracting. Also the blue green algae has at least 20-28 of the known needed enzymes for the immune system to function properly. These enzymes are becoming very scarse in our diets as we eat more and more processed foods which destroy the fragile enzymes in the process of heating, irradiating, etc. the foods. Without these enzymes, our immune defense mechanism is weakened allowing many viruses and "bugs" to multiply in the body. I too do not sell anything. Then we were informed that there was something wrong with the vaccine and that it didn't protect against one virulent strain of flu that was becoming common. I wouldn't get another one. Yes, it *can* give you a full-blown case of the flu, although the odds of that happening are low; you were one of the cases where it *did* happen. I have to get a flu shot, as well as pneumovax (vaccine against Staphylococcus pneumoniae, which causes some forms of pneumonia as well as other problems), because I have a chronic lung condition (pulmonary sarcoidosis). It's your call whether you get another flu shot; if you're otherwise healthy, and don't mind running the risk, you can probably get away with skipping it. I *can't* run that risk; I have enough trouble breathing without adding the flu into the equation. I also doubt that the flu vaccine is related to the thing that Teo was speaking of--I've had a variant of it for the past two months. My pulmonologist calls it "There's a lot of that going around." I'd like to see an epidemiological study of the areas where the spraying, odd contrails, etc., have been reported, to determine if there is a greater incidence of "there's a lot of that going around" in those areas than elsewhere. As to the luminescence of the contrail, if it was the *early* night sky and the contrail was very high, remember that the sun might still be shining on it. These contrail stories make me uneasy, too. I remember going out for a paper one morning when Vancouver was being sprayed to eridicate gypsy moths. I heard a plane overhead so I hurried -- couldn't have been outside for more than 3 or 4 minutes -- but I came down with a sore throat which was one of effects on humans that the sprayers admitted might occur. So I definitely don't like chemical agents being dumped on me from above! Nevertheless, it's important to eliminate alternative explanations before getting too paranoid. The cobwebs melt or dissolve upon contact. I told a friend who just moved from Bakersfield what was being posted. She said she had seen cobweb-like strings hanging from street light poles. She saw them in October, around Halloween and thought, perhaps, they were decorations, though they were very thin. She touched them and they didn't melt or dissolve on contact. She was ill in her last month in Bakersfield -- though not with an upper respiratory infection. She had three separate bouts of diarrhea in three weeks and was puzzled by that. She did mention, however, that whenever she went to her medical plan's urgent care center to pick up prescriptions, the urgent care centers were packed with coughing people. Perhaps her experiences are related to the spraying -- though she mentioned that people get sick there in October every year -- and that it is usually chalked up to spraying cotton. -Caveat Lector- Well, as regards this sickness. I am sick myself and it is most unusual. I am told it is the flu, but it is unlike any flu I have had before, in addition I got a flu shot around October of last year. I don't know how these things relate but I have been having a problem with fatigue too, and have noticed weird contrails in the air around here lately too. One of the contrails was almost luminescent, and easily seen in the night sky. One other I observed in the daytime was similar to those attributed to pulse jets, that supposedly don't exist. Could all be a big nothing but I find it interesting that all of this is happening at the same time like this and in such widely diverse places.
