Bug#1037169: linux-image-6.1.0-9-amd64: reboots when suspending

2023-06-06 Thread Nicolas Évrard
Package: src:linux
Version: 6.1.27-1
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

When the computer goes to suspend using eg 'systemctl suspend' it sometimes
fails to suspend and reboots instead. What can also happen is that the computer
won't come back from suspend and won't react to pings either, I'll have to
force a shutdown. And sometimes everything will work as expected.

I noticed this since a few months now, updating the kernel never changed the
behaviour.

Regards,

There were a number of fixes in the LSP stuff for 0.6.0, so can you let

Hello,

So after a while I thought that it had indeed disappeared but I had it twice
today :(. It seems to be a problem with the virtual text and treesitter.

Here's a screenshot of the error in action.

Bug#1001788: neovim: undoing changes results in a mix of old and new text

2021-12-16 Thread Nicolas Évrard
Package: neovim
Version: 0.5.1-1
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

I am sorry for this bug report because it occurs on some rare occurence and I
don't have a scenario to reproduce it. Yet it's annoying enough to deserve a
bug report. Feel free to close it as unreproduceable ;).

With the arrival of LSP I switched my configuration from ALE to the builtin LSP
for linting and so on. I made this switch some days after the release of neovim
0.5.0 ; since that time I have remarked that sometimes (I'd say 2 or 3 times a
month), when I undo my changes (not just one press of 'u' multiple presses), it
results in a mix of old and new changes.

When I don't use the LSP, I don't have the issue (but I don't know if it is
because I don't use it or because I have been lucky).

For the record I am usualy editing a python file with pylsp.

Bug#988593: foot: A new version of foot is available

2021-05-16 Thread Nicolas Évrard
Package: foot
Version: 1.6.4-1
Severity: wishlist

Dear Maintainer,

Hello,

I started using foot and I'd like to thank you for packaging it.

I noticed that a new version of foot is available, you might not have been
warned because uscan seems broken for packages on https://codeberg.org/ (maybe
a gitea update that broke it). Anyway it would be cool if that version is
available on debian (I must say the URL feature looks quite neat :D).

Bug#983165: aerc: Does not display content of the emails

2021-02-20 Thread Nicolas Évrard
Package: aerc
Version: 0.3.0-2+b1
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

I decided to try aerc today but it refused to display the content of
my emails. I tried different type of accounts (imap / maildir /
notmuch) and different terminals (alacritty / urxvt).

While I can see the different mailboxes and the content of them, once
I switch to the message view the only part that are filled are the
header part and the multipart one. There part where the body of the
email should be displayed is empty (I tried with text/plain and
text/html emails).

This issue can be closed because after investigating with tcpdump it
seems that it's 192.168.1.1 that replies something different if the

2020-09-08 Thread Nicolas Évrard
Package: systemd
Version: 246.4-1

File: /usr/bin/resolvectl

Dear Maintainer,

Today we migrated a forum from one server to another hence its IP
address changed. Trying to access the new home of this service I
noticed that I continuously stumbling upon the old one (I know the DNS
propagation takes some time but it seemed long).

Anyway here's the output of my musings with resolvectl:

As you can see the DNS result obtained with dig differs from the one
of resolvectl although AFAIU systemd-resolved is using the wlan0 link
and thus the same DNS servers.

This is quite puzzling and I'd like to understand what's going on.
I tried restarting the service instead of flushing the caches and it
results in the same behaviour.

Unfortunately I don't use mutt anymore, so I can't test right now.
I'll try to find some time later today to test it again.

Bug#955730: krita does not start under wayland

2020-04-04 Thread Nicolas Évrard
Package: krita
Version: 1:4.2.9+dfsg-1
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

Hello,

I have started to use sway as my primary window manager unfortunately
krita does not work with wayland it seems. Other Qt applications seems
to work just find (provided I set the right environment variable ie
QT_QPA_PLATFORM=wayland)

Here's the log:

qt.qpa.xcb: could not connect to display :0
qt.qpa.plugin: Could not load the Qt platform plugin "xcb" in "" even
though it was found.
This application failed to start because no Qt platform plugin could be
initialized. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem.

Available platform plugins are: eglfs, linuxfb, minimal, minimalegl,
offscreen, vnc, wayland-egl, wayland, wayland-xcomposite-egl,
wayland-xcomposite-glx, xcb.

I tried running "krita --platform wayland" without success.

Here's also the result of "QT_DEBUG_PLUGINS=1 krita" (which shows that
the wayland plugins should be available I think)

Bug#955729: wofi fails to show window

This morning I updated the following packages and right after this
update wofi stopped showing the window but did not crash either.

I suspect that the libgtk-3 update is the issue.

Bug#944097: udev: Network interface does not follow the predictable naming anymore

At least I would have read it :).
So if I want to keep the old behaviour, I should override this and
replace

NamePolicy=keep kernel

By something like

NamePolicy=path keep kernel

But then I will also need to launch iwd with "--nointerfaces" in order
for it to ignore the not yet renamed interfaces.

It looks to me like it's a bit too much to do in order to use the
predictable naming scheme.

Anyway thank you very much!

Bug#936094: python3: Installing vdirsyncer or pygobject in a virtual environment results in a linker error

2019-08-29 Thread Nicolas Évrard
Package: python3
Version: 3.7.3-1
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

I noticed the same error while installing in a pristine virtual
environment the python packages 'vdirsyncer' or 'pygobject' (I made a
bug report to gnome for the later in case it matters:
https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/pygobject/issues/358)

Here's the final line of the vdirsyncer installation:

ImportError:
/tmp/easy_install-e4zaxt6y/vdirsyncer-0.17.0a3/.eggs/cffi-1.12.3-py3.7-linux-x86_64.egg/_cffi_backend.cpython-37m-x86_64-linux-gnu.so:
failed to map segment from shared object

as you can see from gnome's bug report it's the same issue with
pygobject. It made me realize that the issue might not be with the
packages but with the python shipped with sid. Thus I tried on a
buster box I have and vdirsyncer installs successfully.

I wonder if this bug is related to #919134 (although I am not sure as
this bug was found before the buster release).

Regards (and thanks for all the work you've done this far ;) as I
never had the opportunity to thank you since I never had an issue
before),

Bug#922269: x11-utils: X do not triggers the screensaver

2019-02-13 Thread Nicolas Évrard
Package: x11-utils
Version: 7.7+4
Severity: normal

Hello,

I noticed that my screensaver is not triggered anymore after the
default timeout yet I can activate it through "xset s activate".

It tried the following:

nicoe@mirabelle:~% while true; do
echo `xssstate -i` `xssstate -t` `xssstate -s`
sleep 10
done

Here's the result:

7 29983 off
9941 20054 off
19959 10036 off
29978 17 off
39997 0 off
50016 0 off

What's strange is that the timeout reach zero but the state of the
screensaver stays on "off".

I am not sure the bug resides in this package to be honest but since
xset sets user preferences for X it might be related.

Bug#913905: i3-wm: focus sometimes stucks on the previous window

2018-11-16 Thread Nicolas Évrard
Package: i3-wm
Version: 4.16-1
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

This is a quite difficult bug to trigger but it happens at least on
time per hour since the update to i3 version 4.16

The symptom is pretty easy to describe: when switching from one window
to another (either by calling a window from the scratchpad or by using
"focus left/right") the focus stays on the previous window yet the
window I expected to receive the focus appears (in case it's coming
from the scratchpad) and is decorated just like a focused window.

I have tried numerous way to reproduce this bug but I failed to find a
pattern. I am sorry about that as I know that such an erratic bug can
be a PITA without a reproducible scenario.

But since it's pretty annoying I though I would report it anyway.

Bug#913559: sensible-utils: select-editor should quote path used in the script

2018-11-12 Thread Nicolas Évrard
Package: sensible-utils
Version: 0.0.12
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

A user reported to me a problem when commiting something in mercurial.
After some investigation, the issue comes from the fact that he has a
space in its $HOME variable (don't ask me why :P). Thus those lines:

# Ensure that $HOME/.selected_editor is writeable
touch $HOME/.selected_editor || exit 1

fail because the path is not quoted.

I think that surrounding '$HOME/.selected_editor' with double quotes
will solve the issue (there might be other issues of the same kind in
the script).

Thank you.

Bug#907138: firefox: fails to show the File Chooser when dowloading where I don't have the write access anymore

2018-08-24 Thread Nicolas Évrard
Package: firefox
Version: 61.0.1-1
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

I started a download in a directory on a mounted USB drive.
I stopped the download switched to another USB drive and mounted it
without paying attention to the umask, I mounted it under the same
name.
I clicked on the download link again but was surprised that the
FileChooser did not show up (it's a zip file and I chose "Save", just
like the first time).

Today I decided to try with Chromium and it showed to me that I have
not the rights necessary to write on the USB drive.

I think that Firefox should work as Chromium and display somewhere
that the user lacks the required rights (though I don't know how/where
to show this message :D).

Regards,

Launching the same command from the version 1.13.1~ds2-3+b1 works
flawlessly.

Let me know if I can help.

Bug#886395: /usr/bin/owncloud: fails to connect to the server

2018-01-05 Thread Nicolas Évrard
Package: owncloud-client
Version: 2.4.0+dfsg-1
Severity: important
File: /usr/bin/owncloud

Dear Maintainer,

I rebooted my computer after upgrading to the newer kernel and my
owncloud client suddenly stop connecting to my server.

When I use the logging window here are some of the network error I
have:

QNetworkReply::NetworkError(ServiceUnavailableError) "Error transferring
https:///remote.php/dav/files// - server replied: " QVariant(int, 503)

The 503 HTTP Error seems strange as I can access the web interface of
nextcloud through firefox. When I try to reach the aforementioned URL
with firefox I've got a message telling me that I reached a WebDAV
interface which indicates that everything is normal.

I also have this error:

QNetworkReply::NetworkError(ServiceUnavailableError) "Error transferring
https:///status.php - server replied: " QVariant(int, 503)

But when I use curl to fetch this page I receive the expected JSON:

2017-08-14 Thread Nicolas Évrard
Package: i3status

Severity: grave

Dear Maintainer,

It seems that i3status debian build is suffering of the github issue
224:

https://github.com/i3/i3status/issues/224

That is that it can not parse its config file anymore due to a problem
with the libconfuse references.

A rebuild of the packages did the trick for me.

Bug#851661: mutt: Jump to an unrelated mail when browsing a virtual mailbox

2017-01-17 Thread Nicolas Évrard
Package: mutt
Version: 1.7.1-5
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

I have the following virtual mailbox defined:

virtual-mailboxes Inbox "notmuch://?query=tag:inbox"

This is the primary mailbox I use in order to sort emails.

When reading emails I usually navigate to the next unread message with the
keybinding. Unfortunately this does not work anymore because instead of
going to the next unread email mutt will display an unrelated and older email.

Regards,

Bug#836860: notmuch: does not considers 7 days as 1 week

2016-09-06 Thread Nicolas Évrard
Package: notmuch
Version: 0.22.1-3
Severity: minor

Dear Maintainer,

When searching for old mails using the date: notmuch does not consider 7 days
to make one week. In fact it seems to be a bit more than that.

Here is the result of counting the emails:

balisto:~% LANG=C NOTMUCH_DEBUG_QUERY=1 notmuch count "date:1w.."
Query string is:
date:1w..
Exclude query is:
Xapian::Query((Kspam OR Kkilled))
Final query is:
Xapian::Query(((Tmail AND VALUE_GE 0 à]| Ö) AND_NOT (Kspam OR Kkilled)))
716

balisto:~% LANG=C NOTMUCH_DEBUG_QUERY=1 notmuch count "date:7d.."
Query string is:
date:7d..
Exclude query is:
Xapian::Query((Kspam OR Kkilled))
Final query is:
Xapian::Query(((Tmail AND VALUE_GE 0 à]|K) AND_NOT (Kspam OR Kkilled)))
622

(I don't know why there are those strange characters after VALUE_GE).

Dear Maintainer,

I use mutt with notmuch and I bound a key to change-vfolder.
When this key is pressed if I use '?' insead of switching to a vfolder, you
will go to a screen displaying all the vfolders with the mail and unread
counts.

Both counts are 0 when they should be different (although in some situation the
unread count is correct but I haven't found yet a pattern).

This might be another recurrence of the notmuch binding missing in 1.7.0-1, does
adding this notmuch.rc to /etc/Muttrc.d fix the issue?

https://anonscm.debian.org/cgit/pkg-mutt/mutt.git/commit/?id=0e63e0b7696e7992fad40c5921d8cad4b21e7ccb

If that's the case then we should merge this bug with 836148.

Nope it won't work as I already noticed the disappearance of
notmuch.rc and fixed it by adding it in my user's .mutt directory.

Bug#766632: acpi-support: fails to correctly execute /etc/acpi/power.sh

2014-10-24 Thread Nicolas Évrard

Package: acpi-support
Version: 0.142-5
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

Here is the output of the execution of acpid -f -d:

cat: /sys/class/power_supply/AC0/online: Aucun fichier ou dossier de ce type
   /etc/acpi/power.sh: 12: [: =: unexpected operator
   /etc/acpi/power.sh: 15: /etc/acpi/power.sh: pm_powersave: not found

And indeed there is a typo line 15 pm_powersave - pm-powersave.

The online file on my machine is in /sys/class/power_supply/AC/ (no 0)
but I suppose this can vary from one machine to another.

With those two changes, the script executes flawlessly.

Regards,

Bug#764315: sup-mail: sup-tweak-labels does not correctly parse query when removing labels

2014-10-07 Thread Nicolas Évrard

Package: sup-mail
Version: 0.19.0-1
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

Hello I tried to use sup-tweak-labels to modify in bunch the labels of
some mailing list that I had imported with the following command:

   sup-tweak-labels -e --all-sources -n -r inbox -q label:ML

Unfortunately it crashed with the following traceback:

   /usr/lib/ruby/vendor_ruby/sup/index.rb:531:in `parse_query':
   Redwood::Index::ParseError (Redwood::Index::ParseError)
   from /usr/bin/sup-tweak-labels:88:in `main'

A quick glance at the code shows that I should have use AND
label:ML. And indeed it worked but it is quite counterintuitive.

I suggest to automatically add the 'AND' in the line 140 of
/usr/bin/sup-tweak-labels when opts[:query] (but it's the first time
that I read ruby code so there might be a better fix).

Bug#754450: acpi-support: laptop backlight is not dimmed when unplugging power

2014-07-11 Thread Nicolas Évrard

Package: acpi-support
Version: 0.142-1
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

I notice that since I switched to systemd my laptop do not dim the
backlight when unplugging the power cord.

According to me this is due to two things:

   - acpid wrongly calls power.sh without argument (I had to install
consolekit for power.sh to be called because it uses
 ck-list-sessions, that's maybe another bug).

   - the test CheckPolicy checks for HasLogindAndSystemd1Manager but
if I am not mistaken systemd does not handle battery events.

Thus power.sh exits and pm-powersave is never called.

Thank you for your time!

Bug#740725: xmonad spins between window when changing focus

2014-03-04 Thread Nicolas Évrard

Package: xmonad
Version: 0.11-6+b1
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

I use a specific layout for Firefox on my 0 workspace (that is a
simpleTabbed noBorders layout). Sometimes (but not always I failed to
find how to reproduce this behavior) xmonad goes in a loop when I
switch from one firefox window to another.

After I have ended this loop (by pressing again the keys that triggers
the switch) the focus stays on one of the firefox window (although not
the one currently displayed). The only way to break this state is to
open a new firefox window.

I have also this strange bug on other workspaces but less often.

I have attached my xmonad.hs

Bug#729507: virtualenvwrapper: workon launched from zsh enters in an infinite recursion

2013-11-13 Thread Nicolas Évrard

Package: virtualenvwrapper
Version: 4.1.1-1
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

Dear Maintainer,

After switching to virtualenvwrapper_lazy instead of the 'normal'
virtualenvwrapper file in my ~/.zshrc I noticed a speed up when
opening a new terminal but as soon as I tried to use workon env the
terminal hang CTRL-C or Z it did not kill anything.

After having added some debugging echo in the virtualenvwrapper_lazy
script I noticed that it enters into what seems to me and infinite
recursion.

My zsh version is 5.0.2.

Thank you.

Bug#729507: virtualenvwrapper: workon launched from zsh enters in an infinite recursion

After having added some debugging echo in the virtualenvwrapper_lazy
script I noticed that it enters into what seems to me and infinite
recursion.

Can you provide details about your debugging efforts? I would like to
forward your report to the upstream bugtracker.

I just added an 'echo ${venvw_name}' in the eval that creates the lazy
functions there:

function virtualenvwrapper_setup_lazy_loader {
typeset venvw_name
for venvw_name in $(echo ${_VIRTUALENVWRAPPER_API})
do
eval
function $venvw_name {
virtualenvwrapper_load
${venvw_name} \\$@\
}

done

Hello,

Is there any news on the packaging front? I tried to build it today
on my sid box and it worked flawlessly. It's a bit more beautiful
since pms finally can display unicode characters ;).

Bug#700428: ack-grep: do not support type-set in .ackrc

2013-02-12 Thread Nicolas Évrard
Package: ack-grep
Version: 1.96-2
Severity: normal

Hello,

Here is a snippet of a terminal session:

balisto:..ssue2996|codereview.tryton.org/|% ack --noenv --type-set rst=.rst
--type=rst user /dev/null echo 'ok'
ok

balisto:..ssue2996|codereview.tryton.org/|% ack --type=rst user /dev/null
 echo 'ok'
Unknown option: type-set rst
ack-grep: Unknown --type rst
ack-grep: See ack-grep --help, ack-grep --help-types or ack-grep
--man for options.

balisto:..ssue2996|codereview.tryton.org/|% cat ~/.ackrc
--type-set rst=.rst

As you can see the content of ~/.ackrc is making ack (I have an alias
ack-grep - ack) failing to work.

With more usual option (I tested --sort-files) it works without any
problem.

This bug has been fixed upstream in 2.1.11 which is currently
pending an upload (Gerfried told me the upload has chances to happen
this weekend) hence if you installed a new version you either built it
from the upstream tarball or installed in using their binary installer
or installed a not-so-recent version. In the former two cases please
comment in the upstream BTS, in the latter please wait for the
prospective upload.

I am using minbiff to connect to a ejabberd hosted on a gentoo server.
The running version there is 2.1.11 and unless you patch the said file
I am afraid that the bug is also present in debian.

Well, I've just installed Pidgin on my desktop Windows machine
and connected to an ejabberd 2.11.1-1 instance installed into a Sid
sandbox. The Pidgin version is

Pidgin 2.10.4 (libpurple 2.10.4)
03f3e779309e683d092706d76a5253c6794d3a66

I am also using this version:

balisto:~% pidgin --version
Pidgin 2.10.4 (libpurple 2.10.4)

… snip …

I have one host (XMPP domain) in my ejabberd configuration --
localhost.
The real host name of the machine which runs the sandbox is
jukebox.domain007.com (don't ask why it is what it is), and I have
configured it in my Pidgin config as the server to connect to (so no
SRV lookups are performed).

As you can see, I have successfully authenticated as kostix@localhost
using DIGEST-MD5 after upgrading the session to use TLS.

So, to me the issue appears to be either fixed or non-existing.
Is there something in my setup (XMPP domain? server hostname?
client settings?) that prevents the issue being discussed form
exposing itself?

From my debugging session in the ejabber the URI problem is solved.
Maybe I should make another bug (but before I'll wait for the ejabberd
upload to get the fixed version).

I used to encounter this quite a bit on FreeBSD and found it to be an
instance of the following FAQ in urxvt(7). Could you please confirm that
it is not so in your case?

| Unicode does not seem to work?
|
| If you encounter strange problems like typing an accented character but
| getting two unrelated other characters or similar, or if program output
| is subtly garbled, then you should check your locale settings.
|
| Rxvt-unicode must be started with the same LC_CTYPE setting as the
| programs running in it. Often rxvt-unicode is started in the C
| locale, while the login script running within the rxvt-unicode window
| changes the locale to something else, e.g. en_GB.UTF-8. Needless to
| say, this is not going to work, and is the most common cause for
| problems.

Good catch : I changed my .xsessionrc to add

export LANG=fr_BE.UTF-8

and now everything works fine.

Bug#673206: rxvt-unicode-256color: do not display properly utf8 characters

2012-05-16 Thread Nicolas Évrard
Package: rxvt-unicode-256color
Version: 9.15-1
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

After my daily routine of upgrading my debian packages I noticed that
urxvt stopped displaying correctly the utf8 characters. I first
suspected a problem with lightdm (since it is one of the updated
packages) not correctly setting up the environment info. Then I
noticed that uxterm displays correctly the utf8 characters.

So I suspect there is something wrong in rxvt (it's probably related
to libfontconfig since it is one of the updated packages).

Bug#654853: libpurple0: cannot connect to jabber server using SSL + DIGEST-MD5 while mcabber can

2012-01-06 Thread Nicolas Évrard
Package: libpurple0
Version: 2.10.1-1
Severity: important

Hello,

I have a strange situation connecting to a my company xmpp server
using minbif (I tried also with pidgin that's why I report the bug
against libpurple).

Since the upgrade of ejabberd to 2.1.9 I can not connect anymore. I
tried with mcabber to check that the problem is not coming from me,
and the connection succeeded.

It seems that libpurple fails the challenge response step (from
19:29:48 and 19:33:26 in the logs).

Here are the XML log of both session:

Bug#637192: /var/lib/mpd-sima/sima.db should be group writeable/readable

2011-08-09 Thread Nicolas Évrard
Package: mpd-sima
Version: 0.8.0-2
Severity: wishlist

Hello,

The file /var/lib/mpd-sima/sima.db should be group readable/writeable
so that user member of the mpd-sima group can add similarities without
switching to root.

I also think that in the case where simadb_cli do not find a local
sima.db file it should use the system wide database file.

Bug#635585: Activating follow style hinted in the configuration file renders luakit unusable

2011-07-27 Thread Nicolas Évrard
Package: luakit
Version: 2011.07.22-2
Severity: important

Hello, this is probably a stupid bug but since I am not fluent enough
in lua I am unable to provide a patch (sorry).

Activating the follow.style in /etc/xdg/luakit/rc.lua (attached) will
raise an error:

/etc/xdg/luakit/rc.lua:104: attempt to index local 's' (a nil value)
E: luakit: main:185: no windows spawned by rc file, exiting

And luakit exits thus making luakit unusable.

Bug#635523: acpitool: reports unknown state for battery of HP ProBook 6360B

2011-07-26 Thread Nicolas Évrard

Hello,

I have installed a new laptop on a HP ProBook 6360b and for a while

started to report Unknown, 97.00%. Charging the battery for hours do
not update the percentage.

If I disconnect the battery then acpitool correctly display
discharging and the percentage is decreasing (but the time remaining
is not computed because it stays at 00:00:00).

Bug#633769: python-gtk2: crashes as soon as a call to set_events is done

 import gtk
 rootwin = gtk.gdk.get_default_root_window()
 rootwin.set_events(gtk.gdk.BUTTON_PRESS_MASK)
The program '.' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadAccess (attempt to access private resource denied)'.
  (Details: serial 481 error_code 10 request_code 2 minor_code 0)
(Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously; that
is, you will receive the error a while after causing it. To debug your
program, run it with the --sync command line option to change this
behavior. You can then get a meaningful backtrace from your debugger if
you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)

It does not look like I am doing something wrong.

IIRC it's in /var/lib/minbif/users/user/prefs.xml.

It was there. The credentials were good but it didn't worked, so I
moved my account, and recreated my configs and now all is well.

If you want I can send you an anoymized diff of the two config

Maybe some encoding problem ? I can't see how those 2 lines differ
(same thing for the rest of the file).

Look at the quotes. I think that when I changed prefs.xml I noticed
the use of ' instead of and so I changed them.

Anyway, I'll leave this bug open for now, and keep the
unreproducible tag; if you ever get more info on this, or can
reproduce a crash, please add the corresponding info to this bug
report.

Ok with me.

Bug#632505: minbif disconnects from irssi

2011-07-04 Thread Nicolas Évrard
* Sébastien Delafond  [2011-07-03 21:03 +0200]:

could you confirm that minbif indeed crashed (with pgrep/ps aux for
instance) ?

If I remember correctly (I was trying to connect from Serbia in a
place where I will probably not return before a long time), minbif did
not crashed.

Now minbif do not crash but I've got those messages in a request
window:

08:24 request :: Error Reading blist.xml ::
08:24 request An error was encountered reading your buddy list. The file has not been loaded, and the
old file has been renamed to /var/lib/minbif/users/nicoe/blist.xml~.

And in the status window:

08:19 !nutellux.dyndns.org Minbif-IRCd initialized, please go on
08:19 ::: ERROR Closing Link: Incorrect credentials
08:19 ::: Connection lost to localhost

But I never changed my credentials.

If so, could you run gdb on /var/lib/minbif/users/core and get us the
backtrace ?

I indeed have a core file in minbif/users but trying to get the
backtrace gave me no stack:

maybe the conf file got corrupted somehow ?

I will move /var/lib/minbif/users/nicoe to something else to try with
a brand new setup.

Ok. But this bug (even it is not reproducible) has a major effect on
the usability of the package (at least for me), so I think its level
should be 'important'.

Looks like that core file wasn't produced while running minbif-dbg,
but the regular minbif package instead; any chance you could wipe out
that core file, install/restart minbif-dbg, and regenerate the core
file ?

Unfortunately I can not reproduce this since I am not anymore using
the network configuration I was using in Serbia.

I will try to modify my configuration as explained in the email
2011070417.ga4...@nutellux.dyndns.org to see why I have the
invalid credential error (for the record where does minbif stores
this ?).

This bug is still present.
To reproduce it:

 Go to http://tango.freedesktop.org/Tango_Icon_Library
 Follow the link 'icon-naming-utils-0.8.90.tar.gz'

Note that it works fine if I do a 'Follow (download)'
Note also that I use the normal follow because that way the file name
is correctly set.

Bug#599732: Labels on function Follow do not appear.

2011-03-31 Thread Nicolas Évrard
Package: luakit
Version: 2010.12.25+0327-1
Followup-For: Bug #599732

Hello,

I have another reproductible test case for this bug.

This feature stopped working after the following steps:

1) Go to http://maps.google.com/
2) Search something, zoom, unzoom, navigate
3) I also used street view which warned me that I must use Adobe
   Flash
4) I opened a new tab on chrome://bookmarks/ and the feature
   disappeared.

The use of google map make me think that this is probably linked to
the javascript engine.

Bug#619904: luakit: chrome://bookmarks/ is not accessible anymore

2011-03-28 Thread Nicolas Évrard
* Mason Larobina  [2011-03-28 17:09 +0200]:

2011/3/28 Nicolas Évrard ni...@no-log.org:

Package: luakit
Version: 2010.12.25+0327-1
Severity: normal

When I try to reack chrome://bookmarks/ with luakit it fails to
display the page stating: URL cannot be shown

We (the luakit developers) are slowly adding more chrome:// pages (or
luakit:// pages as they are now known) but we haven't implemented a
luakit://bookmarks/ page yet.

A re-write of the bookmarks system to use a sqlite3 database and the
creation of a luakit://bookmarks/ handler is in the works so stay
tuned.

This is quite strange since I used chrome://bookmarks/ as a homepage
for one or two months now.

Moreover in debian's /usr/share/luakit/lib/bookmarks.lua I can see the
following code:

-- URI of the chrome page
chrome_page= chrome://bookmarks/
chrome_pattern = chrome://bookmarks/?

...

--- Shows the chrome page in the given view.
-- @param view The view to show the page in.
function show(view)
view:load_string(html(), chrome_page)
end

-- Add chrome interceptor.
chrome.add(chrome_pattern, show)

Which I understood as chrome://bookmarks/ will launch the html
function which is the function to display the html page generated from
the sqlite bookmarks.

This is maybe a debian specific library.

Hello,

When you are adding an album to be played the order of the songs is
determined by the order in the library. But I think that it is more
natural to use the Disc Number and then Track Number.

I don't think luakit qualifies as a valid GNOME web browser. Am I

I don't know what are the requisites for being a GNOME web browser.
But I think that if luakit is does not meet those then chromium
doesn't either (and AFAIK only epiphany does).

triggers the same behavior.

I do not have the same behavior with chromium so I suppose it is

Ok I noticed something that triggers the transparency of the panel.
If I start nautilus then the panel become transparent.

I usually starts openbox with the following autostart.sh:

#!/bin/sh

xli -onroot $HOME/Images/sky-flower-1280.jpg
gnome-settings-daemon
xscreensaver -no-splash

Hi Nicolas.

Hello,

What WM are you using? Can you attach your ~/.config/fbpanel/default ?

Ok I did it, made fbpanel reload its config with the signal USR1 (it
flickered so I assume it worked) but nothing has changed there is
still no transparency.

Do you think the problem might come from openbox ?

Bug#599732: luakit: reproductible test case

2010-10-28 Thread Nicolas Évrard
Package: luakit
Version: 2010.09.24-1
Severity: normal

Hello,

I successfully reproduced this bug if you follow those steps:

1. Go to the www.piratebay.org
2. Search for something (I choose openbsd :P)
3. press 'f' to follow a link and choose a link to download a torrent
4. the next time I press 'f' no label appears.

Another example:

1. Got to www.lalibre.be (you might have to pass the first page if it
is the first time you go on this site)
2. Press 'f' the labels appears
3. Press escape
4. Press 'F' the labels do not appears

I have this message in the console:

Exception occured while executing script:
At (follow.lua):79: TypeError: Result of expression 'document'
[undefined] is not an object.

This is probably an unrelated bug but it has the same side effect :
the labels do not appears

Since the upgrade the version 1.6, my level 3 switch stopped working
in gdm (but not under gnome).

Here is the relevant information from /etc/default/console-setup

# The following variables describe your keyboard and can have the same
# values as the XkbModel, XkbLayout, XkbVariant and XkbOptions options
# in /etc/X11/xorg.conf.
XKBMODEL=macintosh
XKBLAYOUT=be
XKBVARIANT=
XKBOPTIONS=lv3:rwin_switch,ctrl:swapcaps

I set the severity to grave since people might have special characters
in their password and found themselves locked out of their account if
they don't know how to change it (or how to revert to version 1.5).

Bug#531580: gnome-session: does not start my preferred window-manager

2009-06-02 Thread Nicolas Évrard

Package: gnome-session
Version: 2.26.1-5
Severity: important

The new release of gnome-session insists on using metacity eventhough
I did the usual openbox --replace / Save Session combo in order to
use it the next time I log in.

Moreover, switching to openbox has the effect that gnome-session
starts to consume 10/15 % of my CPU while when I use metacity,
gnome-session use only few CPU cycles.

BTW, is it mandatory that gnome-session depends on metacity ?

Have you a list of the word with the new spelling ? I'm only a
compiler of already existing list, but hardly a creator of new list.

I'll try to fin one. Since those are new rules maybe I can start with
the current list an apply the new rules (although this process might
create some errors).
