We're currently violating the license if we have it on our FTP sites. The older package which is on the FTP site has a less restrictive license. They can be contacted for permission for Debian to release .deb packages, however that is not going to float well and would guarantee that the software is non-free (the fact that we'd have to ask kinda spells that one out though..)
