Re: [Bug 281126] Re: Can't move window from one desk to another

2008-10-20 Thread Nigel Wakefield
I am not sure which effects you are referring to.

One of the first changes that I made after installation ( at the beginning
of this month from a disc supplied by the University of KZN) was to increase
the number of workspaces from two to four. As four is the default number
there would seem to be an error there. Also I suspect that the problem is
that all the workspaces are numbered 1 so the dragging does not recognise
that there is more than one workspace, even though all the workspaces are
useable as normal.

Apart from the wallpaper and screensaver, I can't think of any other changes
that I have made

[Bug 250649] Re: power status mouse-over does not change when power plugged in

2008-10-20 Thread Chris Coulson
The information provided by HAL all looks consistent. When running from
battery:

battery.rechargeable.is_charging = false
battery.rechargeable.is_discharging = true
ac_adapter.present = false

When running from AC:

battery.rechargeable.is_charging = false
battery.rechargeable.is_discharging = false
ac_adapter.present = true
battery.charge_level.percentage = 100

It seems that in your second case, the battery is fully charged. It
would be good to see the same set of information with the AC adpater
present and the battery charging (ie, charge_level 100)

[Bug 256749] Re: Unable to mount location -- Internal error: No mount object for mounted volume

2008-10-20 Thread Stephen
I can confirm that this bug is absolutely genuine and reproducible.

This is purely speculation but could this be a synchronisation problem
between nautilus and gvfs? Selecting a link in the Computer menu
should result in the volume first being mounted and then being opened in
a nautilus window. Is it possible that nautilus is jumping the gun so to
speak, and trying to open the volume before it has been mounted?

you don't change the desktop but the icon, that's not really a bug but
really a tiny corner case, you should just refresh the view if you want
to get it update, there is no reason nautilus should automatically do

icon which is changing dynamically. to send on bugzilla.gnome.org too

[Bug 286321] [NEW] if ssh:// connection gets lost, file copies get stuck

2008-10-20 Thread Eythian
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nautilus

If you attempt to copy a file to a disconnected network location, the
copy operation gets stuck.

To reproduce:
1) have a nautilus window open with an ssh:// connection to somewhere
2) leave it alone for a long time, until the ssh connection disconnects
(bouncing the network or similar may have the same effect)
3) don't realise this has happened, and attempt to drag a local file to this
ssh connection
4) watch the 'file operations' dialogue sit on 'Preparing to copy 1 file...'
forever, and not be cancellable.

[Bug 285769] Re: Evolution Seg Fault on New Calendar Entery

2008-10-20 Thread Pedro Villavicencio
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. However, your crash report is either missing or
challenging to deal with as a .crash file. Please follow these
instuctions to have apport report a new bug about your crash that can be
dealt with by the automatic retracer.

If you are using Ubuntu with the Gnome desktop environment - launch
nautilus and navigate to your /var/crash directory and double click on
the crash report you wish to submit.

I'm closing this bug report since the process outlined above will
automatically open a new bug report which can then dealt with more
efficiently. Thanks in advance for your cooperation and understanding.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu
better.
This bug did not have a package associated with it, which is important for
ensuring that it gets looked at by the proper developers. You can learn more
about finding the right package at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage.
I have classified this bug as a bug in gnome-volume-manager.

Do you have the problem with other apps? Because maybe it is a gtk issue.

2008-10-20 Thread gerstrong
I don't think so. It's a problem with the croppy screen resolution in

After that, do a LD_PREPATCH.

[Bug 286402] [NEW] Compiz breaks video playback on i810 and intrepid

2008-10-20 Thread Christoph Langner
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: totem

I enable the desktop effects and play this [1] (or other) videos inside
totem. When i start the video i see the movie. When i move the totem
window, resize or maximize it then it breaks. The picture is lost, or i
see only parts of the video, or i see parts of the totem window as still
image.

I was able to take screenshots and recording the screen too. What you
see, is what i see on my screen... When i disable compiz by turning of
the desktop effects, video playback is fine.

Re: [Bug 228819] Re: nautilus desktop entry files doesn't update icon changes (affects avatar-factory)

2008-10-20 Thread Yuzem
Refreshing the view doesn't work here. The only way for me is to restart
nautilus or wait some time. The reason I am reporting this is because that
didn't happened with previous version but as I said before is no longer a
problem.

What about the no name thing? Is it a bug or a change in the behavior?

 you don't change the desktop but the icon, that's not really a bug but
 really a tiny corner case, you should just refresh the view if you want
 to get it update, there is no reason nautilus should automatically do

 icon which is changing dynamically. to send on bugzilla.gnome.org too
