Re: Question according to jclouds

2024-03-03 Thread Andrew Gaul
Hi Darius, unfortunately jclouds is not in a healthy state despite having a
lot of useful functionality. I plan to run the 2.6.0 release soon
 but the
next step is to move the project to the Apache attic due to inactivity
. I have
not decided what to do with my S3Proxy project which is now the most
popular application of jclouds but selectively replacing providers like
Azure with vendor SDKs would
address many of my users' issues. Honestly this is how jclouds should have
been written but 15 years ago this was not obvious. So if you are looking
for blobstore-specific solutions S3Proxy might be a good repository to
watch. Otherwise you need to figure out something on your own. Please use
the dev@jclouds.apache.org instead of my personal email for future
correspondence.

Sorry about the cut and paste -- this should be the first release
candidate of Apache jclouds 2.6.0.

[DISCUSS] Release Apache jclouds 2.6.0 RC1

2024-03-03 Thread Andrew Gaul
This thread is for discussion of the third release candidate for Apache
jclouds 1.6.3.

Please use this thread for discussion of issues uncovered in the RC,
questions you may have about the RC, etc.

If you want to help to validate the release, you'll find a set of
scripts and the corresponding instructions here:
https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/JCLOUDS/Validate+a+Release

You can also go run live tests for your preferred providers and post the
results here, or use the projects in the jclouds-examples repo, such as
the "compute-basics" to rapidly smoke test the providers you are
interested in:
https://github.com/apache/jclouds-examples

Thank you.
