As discussed on the jcp-open list, Gavin is amenable to having both Matthias
and James representing Apache on the expert group. They just need to sign
up on the JCP web site, at the link above.

I had already done so a while back. Looking forward to getting this
moving. I think if this JSR was moving any slower, it would be going
backwards ;)

sure. I think that should be manageable.
As mailed before, mailed my request to the [EMAIL PROTECTED], but no
answer yet.
I think only ASF member can *hang out* there.

While looking for the NDA form, I noticed this:

If you are interested in representing the ASF on a new or existing
expert group that doesn't have ASF representation, or participating
with the existing activities on an expert group, please send email to
the JCP open list and indicate your interest.

So you might want to subscribe to re-send your request to jcp-open@
instead, and the same page says that list is open to any committer.

I sent in a request to be on the expert group under corporation, since I
am incorporated.

I would prefer to be a co-rep for Apache, but if that's not possible, then
that's cool.

It's up to the spec lead (Gavin King in this particular case) ... but I
don't expect he would object to multiple individual participants.

As to how the official Apache rep gets selected, best bet would be to
post
your willingness to do this to the [EMAIL PROTECTED] mailing list (ASF
members
only to subscribe) to let other JCP-interested folks now of your desire.
If
there's more than one interested party, we can let Geir help us figure
out

the process for selecting one.

Yes, I'm going to be the Sun rep on this EG. It would be
  reasonable for
someone to be the Apache rep as well.

Do you have to be registered with the JCP as a corporation rather
than an individual to get that status?
