Jean, are you the owner of the Documentation blog I see on the planet?

Yes, I'm the owner of the Docs blog. I had hoped the Docs team would use it
for more than just announcements of new books, but that has not happened.
And now that the Marketing team is active on social media, it's not
 really needed for other purposes.

That chapter was also going to cover info about using the Documentation
wiki, but we don't really use it for much, and usage like tracking tasks
should be covered in other chapters.

We might as well delete reference to that chapter, which has never been
written, and renumber the other chapters.

Ok thanks, I add it to my to do. About the blog, I'll create an account
and will try to add regular articles about the project life. As the post
appears on the websites home page, it may be a good way to attract
people to the doc project.

Cheers
Sophie

 Hi :)
I noticed a lot of the Faq headings on
 https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Faq/General
 start with
 How do i ..
Most of which i could easily re-write as the more familiar How to ...

In English people often refer to How to guides and often use How To
when googling it (or duck-duck-going it or whatever) for something.

ah, ok, will remember that for the future :)

Can i go ahead and change those headings without breaking the links or
anything? The wiki-markup looks like each heading is sent to a numbered
page rather than relying on using the name of the title so it looks as
though it should be pretty easy for me.

Yes, go ahead, no problem! if you look at the way it's structured:
[[Faq/General/006|How do I install LibreOffice?]]
you see that the part containing the link is a number: 'Faq/General/006'
and the text following is the part displayed as a title '|How do I
install LibreOffice?'
So changing that last part won't break anything.

For an explanation of the numbered page, when we created the FAQ we
thought it would be easier to handle translation and to maintain it by
using numbers instead of the title of the article.

Thanks for your proposal :)
Cheers
Sophie
