Hi Lewatle,

The theme name.xsl file is the one that is called structural.xsl
during
installation and we typically rename it to oln.xsl if we our theme name
is
oln. So maybe your's is named structural.xsl and it will be under the
directory [tomcat]/webapps/xmlui/themes/

Please let me know if you found it or not.

- Debashree

 Hi Debashree

I believe that is absolutely clear, but I will have to search which
file
 specifically needs to be edited.

 Lewatle

 Hi Debashree

I searched all dspace files for the file themes.xml so I can do the
 edit
in it but a file I got is themes.xmap not themes.xml, do you created
a
file manually and if yes please indicate the full path to the file.

 Hi Lewatle,

I had wanted to remove that search box completely instead of moving
it
 to
the bottom. Upon searching the dspace-tech I had found the snippet
 that
worked for me. It might give you some clue about what you might need
 to
 do

 Hope this will help,

[Dspace-tech] Authority Control - LC Name Authority on a Windows machine

2010-04-23 Thread Christof VERDONCK
Dear

Yesterday I tried the LC Name Authority author lookup in a DSpace version 1.6
installed on a Windows machine.

After several (frustrated) attempts I started from scratch on my Linux machine
which... filled my expectations: working fine.

After that I, again, started from scratch on my Windows machine but... nope, no
result. I only get an error message:

Failed to load choice data: Exception=[object Error]

Has anybody, ever, tried the same? Is this a bug or is there anything I look
over the head? Do I need, somewhere, a configuration or...?

Yours Sincerely

[Dspace-tech] PDF viever

2010-04-23 Thread Lewatle Phaladi
Hi all

I want to enable PDF viewer for DSpace so that a user who doesn't have
PDF application installed can just view the document on the web browser
without the need to install PDF viewer.

I am using XMLUI as a default and I need to show those changes on

I also discovered that setting up most functionalities for JSPUI is
quite straight forward than for XMLUI.

The thumbnail preview is well setup on JSPUI than on XMLUI where I can
see changes happened on the web interface.

2010-04-23 Thread Jason Fowler
That should be pretty easy in XMLUI using something like Google's viewer,
especially if you have no collections that need to be authenticated. You should
be able to simply make changes to your theme.xsl file to enable it (and perhaps
messages.xml). No java coding would be necessary using this method.

You could do something very similar to what I have explained here for the
inclusion of the video tag for HTML5 pseudo streaming.

http://neoarch.wordpress.com/2009/12/15/using-the-html-5-video-tag-in-dspace/

Instead of embedding the video tag, you would put in code to embed the viewer.

I am in a bit of a hurry now. If you need more information, let me know and I
can explain this more fully next week.

Good morning,

We are working on Dspace 1.6 and have encountered a couple of problems. The

could use webui.itemdisplay.default which only applies to the jspui in 1.6. I
have looked through the documentation and cannot seem to find a similar setting
for the xmlui. Am I missing something? Thanks .

That should be pretty easy in XMLUI using something like Google's viewer,

 method.

I'm pondering googles terms of service here:

http://docs.google.com/viewer/TOS?hl=en

http://docs.google.com/viewer/TOS?hl=enSpecifically... You may not use the
Service to develop a visual document search and preview application which
embeds multiple uses of the Google Docs Viewer in a single webpage for DOC,
DOCX, or PPTX filetypes.

Sounds somewhat like what is being proposed.

p.s. Please excuse a shameless but on topic plug...
We do provide an affordable option for document streaming / Page turning on
XMLUI ( http://atmire.com/docstreaming.php ). Our latest version works
within DSpace, creating individual pages for the viewer and storing them
internally.

Re: [Dspace-tech] LC Authority Names - Lookup Feature - names w/o dates

2010-04-23 Thread Mark Diggory
Ronee,

Do you have the link? It did not come through.I am suspect that the
SRUHandler is not parsing off the date and appending it in the choices. We
may want to revisit what fields should be passed through and included in the
choices.

 Lincoln, Abraham

 Lincoln, Bommala-Abraham

The OCLC search results look like this and include dates. Can someone help
to correct this or shed some light on the problem?

2010-04-23 Thread Mark Diggory
Yes, its just returning one field of the srw record, not sure if its a
problem, just not a feature. I'd recommend possibly a JIRA ticket on
exploring if xslt can be used to provide users with simple template
option to set what the results should be formated like when turned in
Choices in the Handler.

mx:datafield ind1=1 ind2= tag=400
mx:subfield code=aLincoln, Abraham,/mx:subfield
mx:subfield code=dca. 1840-1922/mx:subfield
/mx:datafield
