HI OC FRED,
You touch the main point (and mni others on QAP too).

Just to remaind all DX'ers here:

YT1AD-Hrane YU7AV-Vojo been in P5 at the time when P5/4L4FN was active.
But, ED was not active at all, when this two verry good frends of mine been
in his local, He just deseappear so that AD AV was not eable to see him
or his permition licence even the antenna was down , (some R7 or
R-7000)
AD AV , HAVE a radio-amateur licence to operate from P5, but not the
military permition to transmit from P5...so, as everybody know this DXPN
finished as Touristic-one.

Any way, its verry dificult to think about the things like P5/4L4FN vs P5A
7O1YGF vs 7O/OH2YY. which unfortenetely happend

Stay Tuned on SIX !!!

No Tom.
P5 - No written permission, legal in the country accepted by
DXCC without any papers.
7O1YGF - As far as I know they presented written permission
they was there invited by local authorities. Not accepted by
DXCC because written permission was signed by the wrong person I don't
think a large group of operators
(experiented ops with already several expeditions to a lot of spots around
the world) can enter in
a country like 7O without any authorization and operate for a week.
If they was invited to stop the operation and leave the country, THE SAME
THING HAPPENNED
TO THE P5 OPERATOR ! If P5 was accepted without any papers why 7O1YGF
wasn't accepted too
with or without papers ??? I'm inclined to agree with Mal when he said:
The ARRL criteria is wholly solely based on who is/is not asking for the
change.(period)
Or in other words for the friends the haven; for the others the hell ...
BTW if I'm wrong please show me the point !

Re: [DX-NEWS] P5

2005-03-06 Thread G4IRN
1. Many of the existing entities are historical. A complete restructure of
the DXCC list would be confusing and bring discredit to the whole set up.
2. Adding new entities to DXCC will make it like IOTA - you will never have
anything to aim for because the list is ever growing.
3. If you've worked all the existing entities, well done. There are plenty
more challenges in ham radio. Tried QRP DXCC?
4. Its only a hobby, don't get so worked up. If you're bored, find another
interest.

So, let go back on the begining: KH8SI vs other similars at present time
(OH0,OJ0,R1MV,GD,GU,1A,etc...)
IF other obeid rules to be DELETED then KH8SI is not new-one (is about 230
km from main land) - But If others stay on the list then KH8SI-Swain
island MUST be NEW-ONE.
By the LAW of DEMOCRACY, ALL of them must be equal to the present rules
at
the time.

By now, deleting of some entities was only because of political changes,
but not by any other criteria !!!

RE: [DX-NEWS] P5

2005-03-06 Thread Harry Hodges

I would like to make an observation about IOTA:

It is NOT ever growing. There are only 1200 islands/island groups on
the list. Some islands/island groups are yet to be activated and therefore do
not have a number. Eventually, someone will be able to visit all of the islands
never activated and theoretically your score could be 1200 (actually somewhat
less since some islands/island groups have been deleted and will not be
replaced. Your awards are at the 100 thru 700 level, Plaque of Excellence at
750, and the Thousand Islands Trophy which I hope to live long enough to earn.
Get a copy of the RSGB IOTA Directory and become acquainted with the rules, see
photos of the awards and trophies, and a list of qualifying islands/island
groups.

Note the CAPS

LETS REPEAT THIS ONE LAST TIME AND I'LL TYPE SLOW SO EVERYONE CAN
UNDERSTAND WHAT IS BEING WRITTEN.

This thread is over on this reflector. I agree with all who have
complained about holding their typing fingers and responding through
the reflector, please note it was appreciated. To all those that
can't or won't head the requests will be moved to the Digest format
where they'll be able to see all the previous 24 hours posts but be
unable to post themselves. This is now the 3rd or 4th request I have
made to be condiserate, my patience is at an end

If you want to continue this on our DX-CHAT, then do so

I would like to make an observation about IOTA:

Now back to Upper andd lower case as the need sees fit

I remain as always, though a little more frazzled
