[Dx4win] Question on F3 Callsign Lookup
I'm sure I am doing something wrong, but if I knew what it is was, I wouldn't have to ask! By reading the help files, I thought I would be able to look up names and addresses from QRZ.COM by doing the following: 1. In Preferences, Ext Data, I entered http://www.qrz.com; in the Callsign Lookup Address window 2. I checked the box enabled 3. I push F3 and a new window comes up with the callsign of the call in the QSO window. 4. I push enter - nothing happens. Now, if I add additional info as help suggests to the QSL manager lookup section, when I push enter the QSL manager window of QRZ.COM comes up, but I am not interested in the QSL manager info, just the basic info as listed on QRZ.COM. Anyone have any helpful hints (besides buying the QRZ or Callbook CDROM)? Thanks, John K9EL
[Dx4win] Upgrading From 6.03 to 7.01
I have purchased 7.01 (upgrade from 6.03) and have received my key. I am wondering if I need to uninstall 6.03 before I install 7.01 and how to preserve my existing settings and preferences? Any help would be appreciated. Bryan, ZL1NI

[Dx4win] Question on F3 Callsign Lookup
I have the http://www.qrz.com/; in BOTH windows, callsign and manager. If the manager box is left blank, nothing will happen. If the URL is in BOTH windows, the F3 in the log entry window will bring up Callsign / Mgr lookup window, in this window press Enter, and if you are online, the QRZ.com window will appear and bring up the Call info that is in your Callsign window in the log. 73 Jay W5SL 1. [Dx4win] Question on F3 Callsign Lookup
If someone can write an application note for me that describes both how to SET UP and how to USE QRZ.COM lookups in DX4WIN, I'll put it on my web site and give you credit. I'll take any text-like format and do the HTML formatting myself. 73 - Jim AD1C -- Jim Reisert AD1C, 7 Charlemont Court, North Chelmsford, MA 01863 USA +978-251-9933, [EMAIL PROTECTED], http://www.ad1c.us
[Dx4win] Upgrading From 6.03 to 7.01
You do not need to uninstall 6.03. Actually leave it intact because the 7.01 will read your preferences from it. 7.01 installs in its own file on the disc and does not overwrite 6.03 After you install 7.01, and apply the key, look un the Help Files, under the Welcome window listed under Contents, there is a link for what you need to do to keep the existing settings and log files. 73, Jay W5SL [Original Message] From: Nga Tapuwae [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: dx4win@mailman.qth.net Date: 10/24/2005 5:38:55 PM Subject: [Dx4win] Upgrading From 6.03 to 7.01 I have purchased 7.01 (upgrade from 6.03) and have received my key. [Dx4win] Question on F3 Callsign Lookup
Hi Jim and the DX4win fellows... If someone can write an application note for me that describes both how to SET UP and how to USE QRZ.COM lookups in DX4WIN, I'll put it on my web site and give you credit. I'll take any text-like format and do the HTML formatting myself. Hi Jim and the Dx4win fellows... Here is what I have: (Main menu Preferences Ext data) Callsign lookup address: http://www.qrz.com/ QSL manager lookup address: http://www.qrz.com/callsign?qsl= When in the main log window, hitting F3 with a callsign opens a new window with the information about that station (may be from the RAC, if installed). The same callsign will appear in the Callsign box below. If I hit Enter, QRZ.com comes with the QSL information about that callsign. If a callsign is in the next QSL Mgr box below, when I hit Enter, QRZ.com comes with the general information (name, etc.) about that callsign. I don't know if this is the best setup, but it works well for me. 73 de Isidro, EA8NQ E-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] -- Visit the EA8NQ's DX Page: www.qsl.net/ea8nq/ -- From [EMAIL PROTECTED] Mon Oct 24 03:04:49 2005 From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] (ON4AOI) Date: Mon Oct 24 03:07:19 2005 Subject: [Dx4win] Question on F3 Callsign Lookup In-Reply-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Message-ID: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Hi Jim, I use the following method In Preferences Callsign lookup address http://www.qrz.com/ QSL manager lookup address http://www.ik3qar.it/manager/man_result.php?call= Most users will find this strange but MY priority is if the heard/worked station has a QSL MANAGER or not with a valid address. After entering the call push F3 this activates the Callsign / Mgr lookup window Push ENTER and you get the results from ik3qar website 1: if the station has a qsl mgr his call will show up 2: I copy the result to the QSL MGR field if it isn't there 3: Push F3 again in the QSL MGR field, this will pop up also the Callsign / Mgr lookup window with the QSL MGR filled in now. Click in this field and push ENTER now you get the results for this call from QRZ.COM 4: if no manager is found you can fill the original call into QSL MGR field And follow the above procedure. Example Call = EA6/ON4AOI Push F3 ENTER = ON4AOI Copy ON4AOI to QSL Mgr field Push F3 in QSL Mgr field Now In the Callsign / Mgr lookup screen Go into QSL Mgr field (where ON4AOI should be now) and push ENTER Now you get all (my) details from QRZ.COM 73 Guy ON4AOI BAND DECODER and related stuff at http://www.on4aoi.be/banddecoder.htm DX4WIN soft and related stuff at http://www.on4aoi.be/dx4win.htm DX4WIN, WRITELOG, WF1B RITTY CW RTTY interfaces at http://www.on4aoi.be/keyer.htm ARSWIN link and related stuff at http://www.on4aoi.be/web7.htm DXTELNET soft and related stuff at http://www.on4aoi.be/dxt.htm -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Jim Reisert AD1C Sent: Sunday, October 23, 2005 11:11 PM To: John, K9EL; dx4win@mailman.qth.net Subject: Re: [Dx4win] Question on F3 Callsign Lookup If someone can write an application note for me that describes both how to SET UP and how to USE QRZ.COM lookups in DX4WIN, I'll put it on my web site and give you credit.
