[Dx4win] LOG Window/Selection and Edit Group names
For a long time I've been asked to get my logs onto Lotw. So now I have begun processhere is where I am at. My log consists of QSO's from 5 calls I have held over 30 years. QSO's from 3 of these calls I will import to Lotw. Here is where I'm stuck. All QSO's have been logged as group #0 (Default I guess) If I do a search in a given DATE range I can pull out the QSOs from each CALL. But if I'm seeing this right I need to EDIT the GROUP NAME from #0 to say a call sign? On my LOG Window/Filter tabThe Selection and Edit Group Names functions are GRAYED out..can not be chosen. How do I search then mark the given QSO's for each of the 3 calls I want to upload to Lotw? Independently of one another? [Dx4win] Logs wanted for testing a .DXL, .CSV and/or .ADI conversion utility
I am writing a utility that reads, re-arranges, drops, adds and converts fields in files of these extensions. It will read any version of .DXL file and .CSV and .ADI. I have a few logs to test against it but would like more. In particular I'd like some .CSV and/or .ADI files produced by programs other than DX4WIN; but DX4WIN produced .DXL files are good too :-) I PROMISE that all logs/files received will NOT leave my PC (won't be accessible by anyone but me) and will be deleted once the program is released! Re: [Dx4win] LOG Window/Selection and Edit Group names
Hi Kirk, First, make sure you are in Expert mode (first tab of Preferences). Second, you do NOT need to EDIT the GROUP NAME from #0 to say a call sign. If the calls you used can be separated by DATE, then go to Filter - Selection and set up DATE filters for each call you used (starting and ending date). When you use that filter selection, only QSOs within those dates (i.e. with the call you used) are active. So you can export these QSOs to an ADIF file, then sign and upload to LoTW. You will also need to request separate LoTW certificates for each call (using TQSLcert). You can use one of your existing certificates to sign the requests. That will speed up the process of getting the new certs. from ARRL. 73 - Jim AD1C -- Jim Reisert AD1C/Ø, [EMAIL PROTECTED], http://www.ad1c.us - Original Message From: N0KK, Kirk [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: dx4win@mailman.qth.net dx4win@mailman.qth.net Sent: Wednesday, July 30, 2008 12:06:03 AM Subject: [Dx4win] LOG Window/Selection and Edit Group names For a long time I've been asked to get my logs onto Lotw. [Dx4win] Problem with 7.04 Import
I upgraded from 7.02 to 7.04 when I installed DX4WIN on a new XP computer a few days ago. All preferences have been moved over, and my QSL confirmation totals are the same as before. Therefore all seems to be working fine. Today I downloaded ADIF file from LoTW to import most recent confirmations. When I open the File/import-export window, I see a bunch of gibberish in the window boxes. Mostly unprintable characters intermixed with alpha/numeric characters. None of it makes sense. It is supposed to list the various import/export filters, but it is unintelligible. There appear to be references to various versions, and other readable stuff, but the boxes are certainly not filled correctly, and I cannot find or select the 'ADIF' filter. Any thoughts? Thanks for any help. Bob, W5LT ___ Dx4win mailing list Dx4win@mailman.qth.net http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win
[Dx4win] Question RE:Modified
Hello All! When entering an off-line QSO, I noticed a window with Modified that counts backwards. Do I need to allow it to count down all the way before I make another entry? I have many QSOs to enter manually. What is the most efficient manner to do this? Thanks, Bob... **Get fantasy football with free live scoring. Sign up for FanHouse Fantasy Football today. Re: [Dx4win] Problem with 7.04 Import
Hi Bob, As a guess, I'd say your DX4WIN.IEP (Import/ExPort) file got corrupted. I don't know if the format of it is compatible with 7.02 or not. If you have no other suggestions: 1) Exit DX4WIN 2) Make a copy of your DX4WIN.IEP file (located in the SAVE directory) to another name. 3) Copy the DX4WIN.IEP file from your DX4WIN 7.02 /SAVE directory to your DX4WIN 7.04 /SAVE directory 4) Try 7.04 DX4WIN again. 5) If this doesn't fix it or makes things worse a) Exit DX4WIN b) Copy the file created in step #2 above back to the 7.04 SAVE directory. Please let me or us know whether this works or not. Lee N7NU ___ Dx4win mailing list Dx4win@mailman.qth.net http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win

Pretty sure it's counting down to a save. I just hit alt-s and it's gone and the log is saved... In fact I usually have several to enter and I just hit alt-s every few... 73, Art W6KY - Original Message From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: dx4win@mailman.qth.net Sent: Wednesday, July 30, 2008 6:45:51 PM Subject: [Dx4win] Question RE:Modified Hello All!
