[Dx4win] WAS Report Counts 51 States
Hi all I am running DX4WIN version 9 and it is updated to latest version. The WAS report has decided to count 51 states. According to the WAS listing report the 51. State is "31" and the mode is IMG. I have exported the whole logbook to Excel and looked through all QSOs with and without a US state. I did not found the state "31" I have looked in the report DXCC listing and WAS listing for the "IMG" mode and also found nothing. I have searched for "31" in the state field. So far nothing found. How do I find the state "31" and removed it? Or is it the WAS report that is corrupt? If so how do I reinstall that. BTW I have been on DX4WIN since approx. 2003 coming from VQLog. I do not use DX4WIN to log QSOs live, I only use DX4WIN to update my log (mixed of 3 Danish call signs). As long as the regular updates are coming in, I have no plans to start all over with a new logging program, no matter the "things" that are missing in the DX4WIN of today. However, I miss the update file from version 8, because I put that program in as a shortcut to the Windows start up menu. Now I have to remember to update DX4WIN myself. For me the DX4WIN is one of the best logbook I have used. I have been using it for many years and it meets my expectations. But I also understand the colleagues who ask for some improvement, according to the new technologies applied to radio. I think Paul's silence does not help in this debate, perhaps if Paul indicates the reasons why he does not make these updates, many of us might understand it, but as I say, his silence does not help. What if I am clear, that for me is one of the best Logbook, I have used it for many years, and what I have for sure, is that I will continue using it. Greetings to all. Close DX4Win Go into your save directory. Right click on config.txt and select edit. Scroll down to [W-CTY] Change to LEFT=0 and TOP=0 Save file. Re-open DX4Win and the country window will be in the upper left hand corner of your screen. Move it to the proper spot. Back in 1997 I'd tried upgrading the DXBase DOS version to it's Windows version without success, fortunately enough I read the ON4UN's review published in that same year about the new software: DX4WIN; I immediately ordered a copy and I'm still very satisfied with it. My "Country" window has disappeared. It is not under any other window. It is checked on the windows listing and cannot be changed to remove the check mark. I do not see anything on the topic in the archives that has meaning to me. This was a thread in the recent past but I can't find it. Any help would be appreciated. DX4WIN: After trying other logging programs, I think I've been with DX4WIN since version 1.1 or thereabouts. Rich, Paul and all. I'm a mid happy user of DX4WIN, last time it was upgraded I was thinking about to pay or not to pay, that was the question. Time is renewing everything and the technology helps us a lot as hamradio operator and in our daytime. Two or three improvements could be a good starting point to bring more users to DX4WIN, it is the best log program I ever used, and I can say that I've tested a lot of them. But it ineed some improvements, a good connection between FT8 programs to allow recolection of qso in real time to manage our DXCC needings, an utility to upload our qso's to eqsl or Lotw in a fastest way, I don't know anything about programming that is totally true but I have talked to very good friends of mine using DX4win as their main logging program and they miss some care just a little of affection to old time users, I've been using DX4win for 20 years.. After I opened a logbook window and pointed the program to the right place for my QSO data file, I was ready to test again.
