When creating a membership list, I did not filter an empty line which created an entry for an empty callsign. When starting a filter, the callsign field is cleared but the membership field was initialized using the empty callsign (the @ in both cases) The search failed unless you searched for a callsign in that @ list! So the quick solution is to recreate your list but watch out for empty lines. My new code guards against this happening in the future. [Dx4win] WAS Oddity
I was looking at my WAS stats for 2018 and the report indicated I had worked FIFTY ONE states. Thinking that was rather impossible I did a bit of research and found that an invalid entry had resulted in mystery state #51. When looking at the WAS report, at the very bottom is the mystery state with a state name of the letter "C" and the St column has "|l" as the state. It indicates that it has been confirmed for MIX, PHO & DIG on 160, 80 and 30 but clicking on that "confirmation" results in "no matching QSO found" response and the entry box is empty except the state "SL" with a red "S". No matter how I sort the data I can't find this one. Can anybody suggest a way to repair what apparently is a corrupt database for this single entry? [Dx4win] A Minor Issue
I am running the latest version 9.02.1134 and noticed something odd. In going through my incoming bureau QSL cards I found one for which I had busted the call. I found him in my logbook viewer and brought the incorrect QSO to the screen. Then I changed the callsign to the correct one and pressed . I would have received a "Do you want to make the changes" warning previously but this did not happen and the callsign could not be corrected. If I changed the QSL route, etc. and pressed , the modified QSL route would be saved and the corrected callsign would also be saved. Just a minor issue. [Dx4win] Speaking of /0
All, At the end of the NAQP I was told by a station that I was calling that I should drop the /8 from my call (W9ILY/8) as it is not used in contests. Actually, that person was not correct in that some contests specifically state that the call zone must be indicated if different from the licensed call zone. The station I was working refused to add the /8 after my call, so I guess it won't count for one of us, probably him as he won't report the correct call. As many of you know, I have operated from a number of states and have used /7, /8, /9 and /0, mainly to differentiate between the operating locations. If I were only to give my name and state (with a variety of states such as OR, IA, MT, NE, WY, ND, SD, WI, IN, OH, MI, etc. from which I have operated) I'm sure that the correct state would be questioned many times. Am I not correct in this thinking? I sure don't want to make it more difficult for the receiving station to copy the correct info the very first time. In all the operations that I have made, this is the very first time that I have been told to drop the /8 suffix. 73, John W9ILY __ DX4WIN mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:DX4WIN@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html

Just an idea. 73, John W9ILY __ Dx4win mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Dx4win@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
Re: [Dx4win] 8.02 MMTTY Issue
The conflict I was having with PTT and rig control between MMTTY and DX4WIN has been solved. In order to avoid the conflict, I needed to use EXTFSK to point to COM2 for MMTTY PTT rather than directly selecting COM2 in the MMTTY configuration. When using EXTFSK pointing to COM2, there is no conflict and all works correctly. Sorry for the waste of bandwidth. 73, John W9ILY __ Dx4win mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Dx4win@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
[Dx4win] Set Name and QTH in 8.02
Hi. I've been working with the Multiple QSO Operations for Set Name and QTH in 8.02. Unfortunately, many of my QSO's have extraneous data that I'd like to either edit or delete. In order to do this, I'd like to see each entry before it's changed in 8.02. I know this is a time intensive method, but it will result (I hope) in a cleaner and more accurate log. When I select the Set Name and QTH option and choose Start, the program checks each entry in the database in callsign order, regardless of date. It always starts this way. If I cancel the program after making some changes, the changes I have made to that point are saved, but when I start it again at a later time, it begins at the start of the database with some entries that I have seen before and chosen to accept them. I've tried to apply filters to limit date ranges with no effect. Is there an easy way to do this so I don't have to start over each time? Thanks and Happy Holidays! [Dx4win] COM Ports (again)
I just encountered a problem that had not previously appeared. I'm running version 7.07.02 and can no longer have both radio control and MMTTY running at the same time. MMTTY is assigned to COM2 and radio control to COM3. I can either run MMTTY or have radio control, not both. They are connected to a two port serial card with one port assigned COM2 with an I/O range of AC00-AC07 IRQ22 and the other port is assigned COM3 with an I/O range of A800-A807 and IRQ22. Yes, the IRQ numbers are the same, but it's virtually impossible to manually change them in XP Home. When using N1MMLogger, I have no problems, but do with DX4Win. I even tried loading two of the previous versions of DX4Win but there is no difference. I am certain that this worked OK in the past. Any ideas, guys? Thanks. Re: [Dx4win] COM Ports (again)
Hi Jim. Unfortunately, this isn't easily possible when using XP Home. I had thought the same myself, but no joy there. Thanks for the idea, anyway. 73, John W9ILY -Original Message- From: Jim Reisert AD1C [mailto:jjreis...@alum.mit.edu] Sent: Tuesday, May 26, 2009 5:14 PM To: w9...@arrl.net Cc: dx4win@mailman.qth.net Subject: Re: [Dx4win] COM Ports (again) On Tue, May 26, 2009 at 3:48 PM, John Holmes w9...@arrl.net wrote: I just encountered a problem that had not previously appeared. Select the + sign next to the COM (serial) ports. If you right-click on a port, then you should be able to select both device address and IRQ. The standard values for those two ports are: Com 2 address 02F8 IRQ 3 Com 3 address 03E8 IRQ 4 You'll likely have to reboot after making this change. 73 - Jim AD1C -- Jim Reisert AD1C/Ø, jjreis...@alum.mit.edu, http://www.ad1c.us __ Dx4win mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Dx4win@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
Re: [Dx4win] COM Ports (again)
Hello Kostas. Thank you for the suggestions. I found the problem while looking at the MMTTY settings. I had selected EXTFSK as the PTT port instead of COM2. When I changed it to COM2, all appears to work correctly, both DX4Win and N1MMLogger. Thanks, again. 73, John W9ILY -Original Message- From: Kostas Stamatis [mailto:sv1...@otenet.gr] Sent: Tuesday, May 26, 2009 5:04 PM To: REFLECTOR dx4win Subject: Re: [Dx4win] COM Ports (again) I syggest to run mmtty first. Pse check if any port is checked there (in mmtty) If yes uncheck them (if you run afsk) if you run fsk uncheck only the radio port and check the ptt/fsk port run dx4win now under filepreferencesradio you must have the radio port, that is com3 and under filepreferencescw check com2 and ptt control under rts line Run mmtty inside dx4win right click in bottom of mmtty window and choose keying setup. Here check ptt control and rts agn. one disavantage of dx4win-mmtty combination, is that you can not use the same com port for ptt and fsk. 73 Kostas sv1dpi - Original Message - From: John Holmes w9...@arrl.net To: dx4win@mailman.qth.net Sent: Wednesday, May 27, 2009 12:48 AM Subject: [Dx4win] COM Ports (again) I just encountered a problem that had not previously appeared.
