I have it in the default of C:\dx4win805. I think I found a work around, so that it opens just as I last closed it, and does each time after. I got each window sized as I wanted them, and positioned correctly. I did the save ini, and, then save and close. After this, I went to the location o. dx4win.ini in the Save Directory, right clicked it, Properties, then click the Read only. Once I did this, I right clicked this file, copy, and save under c:\dx4win805. Replace existing file, yes. I tried opening and closing several times, and it always open as I saved it. Tried shutting the pc down a few time, and relaunching DX4IN, perfect. Since this is the dx4win.ini config file, I most likely will have to unclick the read only box when making some changes, but not sure yet. This is likely a Windows problem, not a DX4Win problem. Please try running DX4Win as Administrator. Using DX4Win 8.05 I am a long time user of DX4Win, and still love everything about it, except I can not seem to get it to save it's screen position settings. I have gone into Preference, Screen, Write ini, Save and Exit. I have tried putting a Check in the box "Leave all Windows in original position", and not checking it, and I always have to rescale the windows, especially the Log Book and Same Call windows, which always are only showing the heading when reopened.
