Re: [Dx4win] DX4WIN.CTY Release #65 - 2 August 2009
Everyone will need a new key for version 8 (the key format is different). You will still be able to download the demo, but it can't save/print QSOs (just like other major version upgrades), until you you get a new key. 73 - Jim AD1C On Mon, Aug 3, 2009 at 5:25 PM, Dick Flanagand...@k7vc.com wrote: Do you know if our V7 keys will continue to work long enough for us to obtain updated keys? -- Jim Reisert AD1C, jjreis...@alum.mit.edu, http://www.ad1c.us __ Dx4win mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Dx4win@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html

Re: [Dx4win] DX4WIN.CTY Release #65 - 2 August 2009
In the simplest case, simply copy your call.DXL file from your old DX4WIN SAVE directory to the new one. Open it up in the new version, and voila, it will all be there, with all your QSO data and award status in-tact. When you save the log with the new version, it will be in a slightly different format that is NOT backward compatible with older versions. There are upgrade instructions in the help file, and on my web page; http://dx4win.ad1c.us/appnotes/upgrade.htm with some additional notes about DX4WIN 8 at the bottom. In addition to copying your log file, you should import your preferences from the old old version to the new one. The upgrade from old version - 8 is really no more complicated than from (say) 7.02 to 7.07, but there are ways to improve upon your data this time around. 73 - Jim AD1C On Mon, Aug 3, 2009 at 5:58 PM, Andy Hewittandyphew...@btopenworld.com wrote: Jim, Questions questions Questions I know, but will there be any upgrade instructions necessary other than those that have been on your pages for yonks?
