This confuses mult with mux? The recent addition "(multiplexing)" needs to go
if I got this right.

Yes, but already done (not yet in master, but almost).
I applied all of your additions except this in

:) Yes.

Not so urgent. Another thing is the representation of the spindle that

Anyway, the default is zero:

https://github.com/LinuxCNC/linuxcnc/blob/master/src/emc/rs274ngc/rs274ngc_pre.cc#L838

But I didn't find a good source to expand what the various log levels
mean. Or how high the number can, or should, be.

RTAPI has a defined enum for debug level:
https://github.com/LinuxCNC/linuxcnc/blob/master/src/rtapi/rtapi.h#L162

But I am not clear if logging uses the same scale.

make that really simple we could mandate that spindle speeds all be

Maybe if others do it but otherwise probably not.

Fanuc - degrees. (But offers G51 part rotation in deg and G52 in rad)
Duet - radians.
Mach3 - degrees
Fagor - degrees

Four out of five in degree then, only Duet in radians. That's different,
degree ought to be a a good choice for geometry. Guess there are many
cases then fit corners accurate is simpler in degrees.

Should the G76 compound slide be in radians, to cut those ISO 1.0472

Tool frontangles and backangles?

I am a physicist, and I am fully aligned with the applicability of
radians for calculations.

But G-code is in the realm of geometry / navigation where degrees are
the appropriate unit.
