Re: [e-users] DR17: Icon Themes and SVGs
On Sun, 25 Feb 2007 02:07:40 -0500 Dana Jansens [EMAIL PROTECTED] babbled: i guess evas didn't build with svg support. Hi people, I'm noticing that the ubuntu icon themes are not working in Enlightenment. I played around with it a whole lot, to try figure out what was breaking them. I ended up experimenting on the Tango icon theme distributed in ubuntu (from which their Human theme inherits). In the Enlightenment menus, when the scalable/categories/gnome-applications.svg is not present, an icon is shown. It's shown from the non-scalable pixmaps I believe, as the image matches them. However as soon as the gnome-applications.svg is present, the icon just disappears from the Enlightenment menus wherever this icon is requested. This same behavior occurs for the other .svg's which would be used for the menu. Is this a known problem already? I'm attaching 2 of the svg's which cause this anomaly. * * Also, the icon theme parser is not correctly parsing themes which include the line: Example=x-directory-normal in them. When this line is present, the icon theme in the selector list does not give an icon, but when you remove the line, then an icon appears beside the icon theme's name in the selector. I'd like to maybe help with fixing these.. the second problem seems more feasible, if someone could point me in the right direction.. Re: [e-users] DR17, eterm (cust and paste) and bioapi usage
The first problem can be fixed two ways. Eterm is fairly old school. You make your selection, then use a middle click to paste. The second way would be to change the key mapping in your user.cfg file. I think using something like this in your action context: bind button3 copy(clipboard) will make Eterm's cut-n-paste behave as you expect. I'm using DR17 on Ubuntu Edgy for sometime time now and couldn't be happier with it. I use the get_e.sh build script found in Rastermans file section, I don't recall that I have modified it much though I probably have. I haven't used kde or gnome wm's in so long now I'm not sure I'd remember how to get around in them anymore. Personally I suggest you use CVS because the repos are usually so out of date it's not funny. Is that possible ? well e17 will use/inherit your existing locale setup unless you set your own. then geenrally it will want things like: de_DE.UTF-8 or fr_FR.UTF-8 or zh_CN.UTF-8 etc. apps e runs will inherit e's locale setup. so e is inheriting whatever you system has atm most likely. the rest will be a system setup issue. as for keyboard layouts - e doesnt touch that. u can likely change that with xkb command-line stuff.
