RE: [Finale] repeats

2003-09-04 Thread Dan Rupert

Hi Andrew:

I can't remember specifically but I think this works in 2K2:

Measure attributes\key signature, select 'always show' from the
drop down list.

OK, how do I (in FinMac 2K2) put a cautionary key and time change
into a measure when the following measure does not in fact change
time or key? This comes up because a first ending requires these
cautions (the measure to wh. it jumps has the new key and time), but
the 2nd ending is unaffected.

I know I can fake this by inserting a slim empty measure for the sole
purpose of bearing the key/time change, but must I really resort to
this kludge? I have a vague recollection that later versions of
Finale handle this problem naturally, so should I just put this
project aside till October?

RE: [Finale] Strategy for scores

I think what I would like to do is to combine the
same-family instruments (all the trumpets on one staff, e.g.). But I
insist that each trumpeter (e.g.) gets only his/her own part.

If I'm understanding you correctly, you'll want to check the *leave original
staves untouched* box in TGTools smart explosion which will meet both of
your requirements.

RE: [Finale] Accordion font

2002-06-24 Thread Dan Rupert

I also thought I had saved this font but then realized that I had saved
the website address instead
(http://www.kolumbus.fi/ari.suomela/nuotteja.htm). Unfortunately, that
link is no longer good. I've shown it only because something from the
address may jar someone's memory.

I'm wondering if Gary Persons is still on the list. At one time Gary had
a fairly extensive library of music ( related) fonts). I still refer
often to the music font information pages from his book, The Finale
Resource. Although the Finale material is now dated (Finale 3.7.2) he
shows 32 pgs of font material plus over 100 additional pgs of character
maps musical examples. Last year he saved my bacon when I needed to
show some bagpipe fingerings.

(Gary was at [EMAIL PROTECTED] last I knew.)

Anyone happen to know of a font that includes the indications for
registral

Hi Colin,

A few years ago, someone on this list was kind enough to send me an
excellent accordion register font. I was about to send you a copy when
I
realized that I no longer have it! Somewhere along the line, either
when I
was switching hard drives or upgrading my OS, I must have mistakenly
discarded this font. And I'm embarrassed to say, but I no longer recall
exactly who it was that sent me this excellent font. But perhaps he is
still around, and will take pity on us both

Regards,

- Darcy
