I prefer monitor in a contest because I use auto-keyer to play my 'CQ
contest... ditty over and over again to save my voice. Having monitor on
lets me hear myself and time when to start paying attention again.

Sure someday I'll move over to SO2R, and ill want monitor off so I can be
searching for mults while I am calling CQ, but I'm not quite there yet.

OK, that makes sense. I run my audio buffers at 256 on my computer get very
low latency. You may want to reduce your DSP Transmit buffers slightly as
well. There is a trade off on DSP buffers between latency and filter
skirts. You may want to play with that one a little.

DDUTIL has a memory feature that was added a couple months ago. It memorizes
pretty much every thing that can be remembered from the CAT commands. So all
you have to do if you bump or click something is just recall what was
memorized.

The program can memorize up to 5 memories and the memories can be labeled. It
also has a toggle feature so you can tune the band and instantly toggle back to
a given memory and then toggle back to where you were tuning. It is very
useful if you are listening to a QSO and the stations are on different
frequencies for example. You can simply toggle back and forth between the
different sides of the QSO

Does anyone have any plans on posting their recordings to the web?  If so, will

[Flexradio] Field Day with a Flex

2010-06-29 Thread Larry Springsteen
Greetings All,
I used my Flex 3000 for Field Day with my club, K5WPH 5A NM, mostly
on 40 sideband.
The main problem I had was trying to use a new UPS on the computer I
was using for the Flex. I had several hard crashes before I got it through
my thick head to change to a different generator and let the UPS charge the
battery for a while. The computer started fine and the N3FJP logging
program loaded interacting with the rest of the network. Power SDP did not
see the 3K. I checked the system and the driver looked like it loaded
but Power SDR reverted to Demo mode. I've been reading this group for
about two years. I thought, what would Dudley do? I rebuild the Database
and it came right up.
Now if only some one can point me in the right direction to get the
Flex 3000 to work with the N3FJP software collection.
