The point is all hardware fails and there are no guarantees.

Like others, I have many astrons that have never been turned off (almost)

If you are really really concerned, run off a 12v  battery and then float

an overvoltage issue.

Just to be a devil's advocate, if you take the time to read most of the
236 reviews ( I got bored at about 50) for the RS-35A M there are many
testimoials of has been used for 10, 15,18 or 20+ years without fail. Some
have never been turned off. Sure there are some failures but it does not
appear to be a prevalent occurrence. For what it’s worth I have one but use
the Icom PS-125 switcher instead to power my Flex. Several years ago they
were plentiful since they gave them away with the 756 PRO series radio and
 I prefer its size.

?? ? ? ?I have had Flex rigs from the first 1000 kit to my current 5000a.
I have downloaded all the spec sheets, that are out there, and read all
the beta testing remarks from the various testers. None of which really
tell me much about how the 6300 will work out in the real world, under day

6300/5000a, weather they be suggested improvements over the 5000a or even
improvements based on the new 6300's technology.
 ?? ? ? ? The 6300, looks great on paper and the engineering write-ups,
but what will I gain in REAL LIFEday to day operation over my 5000a.
Iam not a con tester, like to work dx and also rag chew. I do little CW

?? ? ? ?I already have a big investment in the computer,I-7 ,to run the

50 watts of carrier and modulate it 100% with a 200 watt PA. If you had a
100 watt final and ran it at 100 watts you will have no headroom for the
modulation, you would need a PA of at least 400 watts, that is symmetrical

Currently have 2 other HF radios: IC7800 and TS2000 and have had many Kenwood

There is one area where the Flex 5K falls down and has not really ever worked.
The DSP noise reduction is useless. Over the years I have not seen any

IC7800 DSP NR is FAR superior. When I purchased the Flex at the Boxborough Ma
hamfest the canned demonstration showed incredible signal improvement using NR.
So I wonder when the NR will ever be improved to at least the usable state.

BTW I’ve tried every conceivable setting on the DSP and Audio config. pages,
have lots of processing power and lots of experience with SDR’s. I work with
the most expensive SDR everyday of the week at my job: The General Dynamics
DMR, at $500K per copy this isn’t comparable but my point is I’m not new to
SDR. That said if I’m missing something I’d like to hear from others who may
have had a different experience.  Again I think this is a great radio just not
great DSP NR.

Looks like the 1500 will wind up on eBay... I still give it some more time..

It seems to me it needs to be at least as good in CW as the K line.

 Hi,

I have narrowed down to either a Flex 3000 or Elecraft KX3 for DX'ing

 SDR with my MacBook Air.

Does anyone have experience with the KX3 rig and how it stacks up against
 the Flex 3000?

 Thank you,

Hi All,

With the rollout of the new Signature line of Flex radios (the 6000

for the new arrival. This means that a lot of hams are buying a slightly
used 1500, 3000 or 5000 for their first experience with Software-Defined
Radios.

Rest assured new Flex owners, you have gotten one of the greatest values in
ham radio!

Once you connect your radio to a power supply and your computer, you run
PowerSDR, you might think What have I gotten myself into? To ease your
transition from being a knobly to becoming a Flex'er, we are offering a
New User Configuration and Orientation service. We will remotely connect to
your computer, configure Powersdr (and any associated programs you might
use) and do a walkthough of all of the features of PowerSDR. A week or two
after you have used your new radio, we will do a new session to answer any
questions you might have.

As many new Flex'ers might not have the right computer for the shack, we
have a sale for the NEXT 3 DAYS. Save from $55-105 on the only Flex-Ready
computers on the market. These computers provide the best setup possible
for a new Flex user and the orientation is included as part of the price.

Any customer who purchases an orientation service and later decides to
upgrade to a Flex Ready computer, we will apply the orientation fee towards
the purchase of your new computer.

If you decide you would like us to fully tweak your computer, we also will
apply the cost of the Orientation towards that service.

Re: [Flexradio] Owners Manual

2013-05-27 Thread Burt
This is the best comment I have seen posted here in a long time.
Reminds me of the joke, a woman is drowning a democrat throws a life preserver
but runs off to save someone else before pulling her in but a Republican throws
a life preserver but not quite far enough and makes her swim for it.

This manual business is similar, before sending out a manual, off they go to
build the next great product.

--- On Mon, 5/27/13, Patrick Greenlee patric...@windstream.net wrote:

Everyone has a personal opinion regarding manuals.  That is fine except where
you think your personal preference trumps my needs.  I too would like a
complete and up to date manual and PDF or similar is fine as I have a printer.
I would accept a hypertext version even though it precludes traditional printed
copies.  After all if I don't have a computer to read the manual on I won't be
running a Flex radio. I want a manual not a license to participate in a
scavenger hunt trying to find a tidbit here or there. I'm not trying to dictate
to anyone what they do with information, how they get it or how they
store/access it but a complete manual with TOC, chapters, etc. is not a bad
thing, traditional or hypertext.

I have managed software developments and I know that the developers prefer
slinging code over documenting.  More functionality is nice but if the users
can't employ it, then so what.  Here I sit with one of the niftiest products in
the world, the true cat's meow of ham radios and I have to participate in an
ongoing scavenger hunt for what should be in the basic documentation. I'm happy
for the individuals who have the time to devote to find out how to use this
technological marvel and I do appreciate it when they share their knowledge but
if a proper manual were available mere mortals could employ any features
available without need to sit at the feet of the priesthood.

I realize we are beating a dead horse and units of output will not be in
proportion to units of input.  Ask for what you will but The Team is off
chasing the new shiny ball and what was the new shiny ball is now a step child.
History will repeat itself. Corporate philosophy/culture, even in a young
company, is a powerful influence and the most likely outcome as regards the
manual for the new shiny ball is a repeat of the situation we have now.
Functionality will easily win out over documentation in the contest for
attention.  Sales are effected much more strongly by nifty features than by the
quality of the documentation.  Wait a year and history will repeat itself.
There will be posts bemoaning the lack of sufficient documentation to employ
the whoopee capabilities of the 6K series.

I would be absolutely thrilled to be proven wrong but don't suspect to receive
even mild titillation.

Regarding the idea that the concept of centralized and complete documentation
is obsolete...  BOVINE EXCREMENT!!!  If you think the maintainers and operators
of the nation's warfighting capability are reduced to web searches and burning
incense at the shrine of self appointed gurus you are out of touch with
reality.  Many manuals are electronic now but still complete.  You don't
maintain a joint strike fighter, or even a predator drone by looking around the
internet to find  bits of data to put in your iPad.    RANT: MODE=OFF

Hi all,
Looks like it's time for a new computer, as the old one is
starting to do really weird stuff.  We took a nearby lightning strike last
summer that came into the house via the cable company (Comcast) coax. Smoked
the modem, cable TV box and everything with an ethernet port. My ham gear is
well protected and survived the strike.  My wifes computer was the oldest, so
she got the shiny new computer.  I put an ethernet card into my machine and it
worked, but I think there was other damage to the MB.

I'd like to configure the machine primarily for the Flex 5K,
along with daily internet use.  What processor would you recommend? Intel I3,
I5 I7, Xenon?  How about O/SI'm inclined to go with Win7, but 32 or 64
bit?  I have two displays, so I'll need a video card that has ports for dual
displays.
Is one gig of video memory sufficient?

I'm looking for a machine that's fast and can handle the Flex
and online tasks (No video editing) at the same time.  I want to purchase
enough computer, but not way more than I need.  Your ideas and opinions are
most welcome!

Tnx 73 de bob,

I am 67 years old and I haven't used my car in a week, too much technology. I
bike.I never expected my Flex to last more than 10 years because of it
association with Windows.
However I never thought it would be done in by lack of a case. It would seem
that someone could be found to do it reasonably, but I am not the expert in
these matters.
A local station did not maintain its tower and it went over in a hurricane and
damaged the building, however they really wanted to get a new building and with
the insurance money they did.
Is it a stretch to think Flex wanted to end the 5000 and found an excuse to do
it?
I don't blame them if they did, they are trying to make money selling to
700,000 Jack Bennys, I don't know how anyone makes money selling to hams

By the way I make Jack Benny look like a big spender (except when it comes to

emerging technology is unacceptable to you, you should avoid it. Eventually
FlexRadio type SDR rigs will be the norm and the price will come down

When I bought my Flex 5000 in 2008, I figured it would be unable to be

This is my Flex-3000 This is an example of the distortion I can not get rid

of after owning it for just under a month. I bought this from Flex.

You are listening to a Electro Voice RE20 plugged directly into the mic

jack on the Flex. I can plug any of my mic's into the Flex, and use their

respective TX profiles. And I get the same result

The first phrase is into a dummy load with 3 watts. The second phrase is

into my dipole with 100 watts. The receiver is a Kenwood TS-950S. I set the

audio chain up with W1AEX's excellent information from his web page.

The camel hump, as you call it, is the characteristic noise signature of

after it has already trashed the signal you want to listen to.

The usual suspects are:
The wall wart running your WiFi base station.
The wall wart running your cable modem.
The rectangular in-line power supply running your laptop.
The rectangular in-line power supply running your computer monitors.
Any other wall warts or rectangular in-line power supplies running

There is an article in this month's QST describing how the little power
supply running the LED under-cabinet lighting in the kitchen was destroying

I don't normally use these.because of what happens.

I have local conditions that are quiet (-130 dBm,  But I do have a few RFI
sources (still to be located) which generate a 20 kHz wide hilltop of
noise up to -115 dBm.  The noise looks like a camel hump on the panadapter,
and is usually on the CW portion of the 15 meter band down low, and the 12
 meter CW portion as well.

When I turn on NB1 to curb that camel hump because I want to hear weak
signals that are affected in that 20 kHz segment, the entire noise floor
drops including that hump, but so do the signals to the point of being
unreadable.  And if there is a strong signal above -115 dBm anywhere in the
band, the noise floor pulses to that signal.especially if it is CW.  Which
 renders the NB1 effect useless.

I see a similar but less pronounced behavior when using NB2.the hump
 drops
a bit but the noise floor and signals do not drop (good, but not as good in
eliminating the noise with NB1).but the entire band pulses if any CW
 signals
above -115 dBm are present (obviously not good).

Pre-amp has no impact.  Resetting database has no impact.

Using Flex 3000, SDR 2.5.3.  I have noticed this in earlier versions of
 SDR,
which is why I did not use the features.  But it has me wondering about
it.and I would like to use it.

If you have Win7 running why do you want to install Win8? Is something not

 Twas the
night after Christmas, when all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a click of a mouse.
The radios were turned off even though the XYL wouldn’t even care,
In hopes that UPS soon would be there.

The ham of the house was snuggled in my bed,
While visions of a Flex 6700 danced in my head.
And XYL in her ‘kerchief, and I in my cap,
Had just settled our brains for a long winter’s nap.

When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter.
Away to the window I flew like a flash,
Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash.

The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow
Gave the lustre of mid-day to objects below.
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But a big brown truck, pulling into the rear .

With a little old driver, so lively and quick,
I knew in a moment it must be my local driver, Rick.

He walked very slowly carrying a large package up my walk
Could it be my Flex 6700, I couldn’t even talk
To the top of the porch! to the top of the wall!
Now dash away! Dash away! Dash away all!

As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly,
I pushed everyone away just to get by.

I ran to door, and pulled it open.
To see a box that said from Flex Radio, I was hopein.
As I drew in my head, and was turning around,
Rick put the box down with such a bound.

He was dressed all in brown, from his head to his feet,
And he handed me the tablet to sign when we got to meet.
A bundle of toys he had flung on his back,
And he looked like a peddler, just opening his pack.

His eyes-how they twinkled! his smile made me coy!
He handing me the package, knowing it will give me such joy!
I saw the lettering on the package and it said Flex,
I told myself not to rip it open, as this was better than sex.
 He spoke
not a word, but went straight to his work,
Handing me the tablet to sign and not being a jerk.

I ripped open the box, I  just couldn’t stop.
Jumping up and down so excited and stopped with a hop.
The Flex 6700 in all of it’s glory lay on my table.
As I caught myself caressing the Flex Radio Systems label.

And pushing all my equipment aside to make room for the box,
Hooking it up as fast as a fox!

I sprang to my mic and gave a call,
My excitement you could hear down the hall.
But as my XYL walked down the hall and was out of sight,
I keyed my new 6700 with a such a giddy voice Happy Christmas to all,
 and
 to all a good-night!

I bought a KX3 by putting my order in on March 29, but they did not charge my
card until August when they shipped. A deposit should be to require the
customer to affirm a purchase that would harm the company if not executed, not
to put more money in a companies coffers for a product that is in high demand.
The KX3 is far better than the Flex 1500. However I am pleased with my Flex 5000

     63, 8K, 16K
all to -12dB. The 125 and 4K settings, while outside of your TX
     bandwidth,
may still have a mild effect (if any) because of the skirts of
     the EQ
response for those ranges (I'm not sure how the DSP EQ
     algorithms mirror
analog behavior). Of course, if I'm wrong, I'm sure this
     knowledgeable group
      will straighten me out!

I use the Heil headset, and have had good results as follows for
     general
      (non-DX) QSOs:

      125 -3, 250 -2, 500 0, 1K +2, 2K +5, 4K +6

Remember that each little tick on the EQ chart represents 3
     dB. The above
settings give a fine crisp response with the Heil, while leaving
     some of the
pleasant lower end. Disclaimer: this reflects my preference to
     avoid the big
bassy sound on SSB. You may feel differently.

For DX punch, you might try this as a starting point:

      125 -12, 250 -6, 500 -3, 1K +3, 2K +6, 4K +9

The idea is to concentrate your TX energy in the part of the
     vocal range
that provides the most intelligibility, and ditch much of the
     low end that
robs power and does nothing for clarity.

It occurs to me that if the TX bandwidth filter is not first in
     the DSP
audio chain, then excessive low/high audio frequencies might
     make things get
really strange when they hit the compander/compressor
     algorithms. In other
words, the raw mic audio should go through the TX filter first,
     then the
other processing later. I'd love to have someone confirm these
     DSP circuit
      arrangements.

I have no idea what you are talking about.
What I do get that I did not get with the 1500 was a big easy to read display,
I do not need a separate power supply, I can work CW with the 1500 the delay
really messed up sending, I do not need a computer or earphones, I get QSK and
apparently I can hook it up to a computer. It also copies PSk, RTTY and CW
right on the screen.
I do like the 5000 and Flex is an amazing company.

Ah, okay, no prob. Since the KX3 has I-Q out, you can get the familiar PSDR
panadapter and SDR controls etc by feeding the I-Q into the appropriate version
of PSDR, available for example at http://www.telepostinc.com/NaP3.html
You may need just a cable, or you may need an outboard sound card, depending on
the capabilities of your onboard sound module.
Just a thought,

Good for you Brian,

Fortunately, organisations like the Federal Trade Commission and Texas Attorney
Generals office exist protect the interests of consumers who don't have the
benefit of your inside knowledge.

Flex doesn't need me or anyone else for that matter to hurt them. My in box is
testament to the vast swathes of customers who Flex has alienated (shafted is a
common term) by the promises made year after year and their faillure to deliver
on their promises year after year. Trust and confidence are vital to the
success of any business...for many people Flex have blown that away.

the specific implementation plans.  This is a major effort because it is a
ground up rewrite of the entire system.  I ask everyone to be patient while

    Gerald Youngblood (3/7/2008)

On the PowerSDR software front, we will be limiting updates to bug fixes and
essential enhancements in order to devote our resources to the new software
architecture.  We plan to strictly limit feature additions to PowerSDR so
that we can turn our attention to the new development, which will enhance
our ability to rapidly bring new capabilities to our customers.  It is
imperative that we make this break with the past so that all our customers
can receive the benefit of the new architecture.  We will keep you up to

If YOU search the archives I know you will find many more.

Good for you David. So you are unhappy with Flex's past performance. I guess
the major question is, What is your point? What is it that you hope to
accomplish? Are you hoping to punish Gerald? Are you hoping to hurt Flex
somehow? Are you hoping to help the rest of us who are too stupid to realize
how malevolent/stupid Flex is?

We are all big boys (and girls) here. Many of us have owned Flex products. We
are walking into this with our eyes open. I know that I don't really need your
help in this area. I am well aware of what has been promised and what has been
delivered. I even have a pretty good idea what was and is wrong. I understand
why Flex never delivered on its rewrite of PowerSDR and I also understand why
Flex has stuck with PowerSDR even given its limitations. I also understand how
the new architecture of the 6x00 series is different and how that is going to
change how they develop software for it and why that is likely to produce a
product that is far more flexible and extensible than their previous products
were/are.

I guess what I am saying here in a nutshell is, Thank you for your concern
but I don't really need your help.

[Flexradio] VU5K End of Production Notice

2012-06-02 Thread Burt
When you are dealing with today's state of the art technology this should be of
no surprise. When I bought my Flex 5000 I expect no more than 10 years service.
Flex is not your fathers or grandfathers's Hallicrafters, Hallicrafters etc
last but on the other hand Hallicrafters radios cannot match up aspects like a
panadapter in the Flex.
We don't expect more than 5 years out of our computers and Flex is half
computer.
The demise of the VU5K is a warning of what you are dealing with. It is not
Flex so much as this is the world we live in.
That said, I still prefer my Flex for how ever long it can be maintained.

If you asked him 3x and got the same response I would not be happy either BUT

Let's see it this post makes it, or
winds up on the cutting room
floor.  My dealings with Flex Radio's Tim Ellison have
 come to a
screaming halt!  He quoted me a firm price for a new
 5000A with ATU and
second receiver option, $2998. I asked Tim Ellison 3 times
 to check his
numbers and he led me to believe that this price was
 firm.  Well,
yesterday, I received an email from him saying that he had
 made a mistake
and the transceiver package price was $3499!  He said
 that he made an
honest mistake! Where I come from, if a supplier or
 individual quotes a
price and the buyer accepts it, that's a contract.  The
 arrogance of Flex
has turned me off for their gear.  This is a real
 disappointment, as I
just sold/traded my IC756 Pro III and my Yaesu FT-897D
 package to amass
funds to finance the new Flex. Bottom linebe careful
 with companies
who zoom up to the top, as sometimes they move too fast
 causing customer
service to suffer.  If I should buy another Flex, it
 would be a used one
from an individual, not from Flex Radio.  I have
 waisted much time and I

Re: [Flexradio] FW: Flex 3000 Question from a Newbie

2012-04-09 Thread Burt
You are not missing anything. If I put 100 watts into my IC2KL it would prompty
go into protect mode, if I were lucky.
Flex can say if they cannot do something, you don't need it
Physical ALC connections I have seen on all concrete (knob) radios.
It should be on the Flex 5000 at least

SUPPOSED to is the key phrase here.

Isn't the point of ALC to be a safeguard?  Obviously
you don't set all knobs right (I *love* that phrase) and
rely on ALC to take care of the level-setting for you.

Won't ALC save you from roasting your amp if you forget to
turn down the drive power?  There are lots of amps that
 don't have 100W inputs.  The KPA500 needs 30W-40W of
input, for example.  It's easy to forget to turn down
your output to the right level:  Say you're listening
around barefoot, you hear some DX and decide you need the
amp.  You flick on the amp and in the heat of battle
you neglect to turn down the drive on the Flex.  WHAM!

I can't see how ALC can be a *bad* thing assuming it's used
 properly.  Am I missing something?

Re: [Flexradio] Flex 3000 Question from a Newbie

2012-04-08 Thread Burt
As good a radio as Flex is they decided not to include an ALC line in the
radio, at least one you can physically connect to an amplifier.
Occasionally they give you useless things like the scope because it is easy to
include and not have a physical ALC maybe because it is not easy?
In any event BUY THE 3000, it is better than most others
And the customer service is exceptional

in order to gain information when I bought my 3000.There is so much griping and
complainuing that I am about to unsubscribe.Leave Flex alone and let them do
their work for the benefit of all Flex owners. BurtAF5AA

Stick me with a fork! I have held this in for a LONG time but here goes.

Can't blame FLEX can you for not releasing the info here?

In the GOOD olden days we (FLEXERS)used to be able to help with the
updates on the Alpha and Beta testing (in my opinion the BEST part of the
FLEX experience now long gone) until people started to complain and gripe
 about it.

Then they let us know when the next release may be finished and if it didn't
come out the exact second that was approximated people would trash the FLEX
 programming team.

Now Tim has let it slip on another medium about the update on Face book and
now AGAIN every one is bitching about it again.

I think if this EMAIL group is to be worth anything in the future it is TIME
for a moderator to take over this EMAIL group.

If you don't want to join face book then don't why do you need to comment
 about it.

Do us ALL a favor and stop the bitching about every little thing FLEX does
or doesn't do on YOUR time table it will ONLY hurt us as FLEX users and keep
 every thing more hush hush.

Ask your self, would you work under these negative conditions?

You can flame me if you like but that doesn't mean this isn't the truth.

FLAMERS PLEASE do if off the list server by direct EMAIL so it doesn't take
up any more bandwidth and you don't look stupid to the whole group.

73's and please, lets be grown up's and be patient and appreciative of the
 FLEX team and each other.

In fact I'm glad that it is there for those who want to use it. It's that

It's a little disappointing knowing that information was given out there and

Re: [Flexradio] Leaving Flex 5000A on all day ?

2012-01-28 Thread Burt
Of course don't worry about it, electricity is free, right?
In my station with a Flex 5000A
The computer draws 155 watts
The power supply for the Flex draws 26 watts with the Flex off
The power supply for the Flex draws 51 watts with the Flex on in standby
The power supply for the Flex draws 67 watts with the Flex in receive
The power supply for the Flex draws 446 watts with the Flex on CW transmit 100
watts on 15m
The power supply for the Flex draws 500 watts with the Flex on CW on 160 meters
My DX-40 to put out 40w draws 165w whereas my Flex to put out 40 draws 320
watts from its power supply
The power supply is an Astron RS 20A

This was after I used the 5000 tuner, the went back to bypass.
I went to auto tune again, then back to bypass and all was normal

I like the receiver, the filters, the screen - but, I

Re: [Flexradio] Flex 1500 using External Transmitter for AM

2012-01-02 Thread Burt
You can use a computer generated voice and you won't even have to speak (sounds
not all that different from SSB). Why don't you advise broadcast stations they
can use SSB? AM sounds natural even if it is less efficent.
You can take your vitamins in a pill (AKA SSB) or eat them (AM),

 From: Brian Lloyd brian-wb6...@lloyd.com
To me also. I cannot imagine why someone would run AM at
 all because one
can do precisely the same thing using SSB at 1/8 the power
 and 1/2 the

If it's so easy to reinject the carrier at the exact phase AND FREQUENCY why
does sideband sound like sideband and not like AM?

--- On Mon, 1/2/12, Brian Lloyd brian-wb6...@lloyd.com wrote:
If you demodulate an SSB signal by reinjecting the carrier at precisely the
correct frequency (very easy to do today), the result is indistinguishable from
the same baseband signal transmitted by classical AM and then recovered using
an envelope detector. (Well, not exactly. The envelope detector tends to
introduce more nonlinearity than a product detector.)

I downloaded and ran the program however there is a lot of information there
that I am clueless to understand. What am I looking for? Also when PowerSDR
freezes on startup it is not all the time and varies from 30 seconds to 3
minutes, that makes it harder to figure out
Some have already jumped to the conclusion I am an idiot (maybe true) and that
I am against Flex (NOT TRUE) In fact few are better than Time in trying to

The first step is to look at what
processes are running when you start up.  Then dig
 deeper into
the PowerSDR process to see what handles are in use,
perhaps locked.    This is more than likely
due to another process hooking and delaying the startup.

SysInternals Process Explorer is the tool of choice.

Unfortunately the video will not help anyone to debug your
issue, if you are comfortable digging
into Windows and understand what the tool presents, then go
for it.   If not..a remote session
by Neal or another windows tech is a good option.

among the thousands of PSDR users.  While Neal may have recommended the
components, he apparently did not build your PC and install the software.
Since you're at a loss, why not hire Neal to go through your PC, find the

I love my new 3000 and the fan noise makes no difference to
me since I use a professional directional dynamic
microphone.  Most decent directional microphones will
not pic up fan noise coming from behind them as they are
designed to be receive sound from the front and slightly off
front to either side.  My FLEX 3000 on my desk is maybe
16 inches from the back of the mic - which is on an $80
 telescoping desk boom.  No
problems.   Wiring the modular mic plug was a
small challenge, but the FLEX website has detailed
explanations of how to wire various mics/cords to
them.  It's really not that hard.  Good luck, Best

1700, so you could possibly pocket 7-800 bucks. Thats not small change so I
understand your question.

If anyone wants to do the trade with the above in mind, let me know.
Mine does have the tuner
