Re: [Audyssey] microphone and stereo mix question for windows vista.
Guys, I'd appreciate some definite info, not simply speculation. I know you guys are trying to help, but if I spend money on a soundcard, I want to make sure it works as intended. I'd hate to buy a sound card, only to discover that vista's the culprit. For users on this list with vista installed, which card are you using, and can you access both stereo mix and the microphone simultaneously? How about Line-in? I'm actually not even sure if this laptop has a line-in jack. There's a microphone, and a headphone jack, but that's all I can see. - Original Message - From: shaun everiss [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: Gamers Discussion list gamers@audyssey.org Sent: Sunday, October 05, 2008 3:31 PM Subject: Re: [Audyssey] microphone and stereo mix question for windows vista. no it aint vista if you mean the soundcard issue, there are 2 types of realtech soundcards and one is the stripped down version that does not have all the optionsAt 07:38 a.m. 6/10/2008, you wrote: I bet its vista. However laptop cards in general are just that basic laptop cards they don't have much going through them. at any rate these cards are for sound on the average person's laptop. Re: [Audyssey] microphone and stereo mix question for windows vista.
I know my friends card did have line in. Try out the Sound blaster cards. Those things rock- I have a sound blaster live card on a desktop here- its old but it gets the job done, and it stil sounds just as good now as it did 4 years ago, when I got it. Better than both of the other computers I have here, anyway - one with a SiS 7018 soundcard and this laptop with a Connecsant. The one with the SiS, though, is from 2002- and it really doesn't have bad sound. contact details: email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] and others msn: [EMAIL PROTECTED] skype: the_conman283 system details: Hp pavillion dv5220CA notebook pc AMD Turion(tm) 64 Mobile Technology ML-37 2.0 GHZ, 1024 mb DDR ram, Fujitsu 100 gb 4500 RPM Hard Drive, connecsant AC-link audio - Original Message - From: Yohandy [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: Gamers Discussion list gamers@audyssey.org Sent: Friday, October 03, 2008 5:32 PM Subject: Re: [Audyssey] microphone and stereo mix question for windows vista. Re: [Audyssey] microphone and stereo mix question for windows vista.
well for all the issues of no mic and stereo mix options running together like having a mic in stereo mix the hd audio cards even the express versions still put a load of vertual surround sound and 3d stuff even in stereo. At 08:12 a.m. 5/10/2008, you wrote: I know my friends card did have line in. Re: [Audyssey] microphone and stereo mix question for windows vista.
its the card yohandy. I have the same issue in xp. and its still a laptop card. if you need some sort of recording thing, I don't know. they do cost a load of cash the externals. I have heard the audygy s2zzs is good although the microphone amp is not that clean. Myself I have this box but I also have an older laptop that uses an old soundmax which has the functionality you describe. If you have a del laptop you can buy the feature for having the microphone and stereo mix for 90 I think. At 04:33 p.m. 5/10/2008, you wrote: Ok wait a sec. Is it vista, or the card? I have not seen any answer to the Real Tech sound with Vista on the web. Microsoft did not including a file to just do what we want. Now I want to add when you want to talk in a chat room be sure to make the Mike the default. Otherwise your system will hang. You must do this before enter the chat room. Re: [Audyssey] microphone and stereo mix question for windows vista.
no, there is no jack for it. Well the internal card comes with the laptop. if you have a pc you may try to get a pci card, depends on what you are doing. but any card will work, i have a crappy soundmax with nothing on it really and that does that. The older the card is, the more likely it will have the stuff you want, unless you want external or a new card, most should do this sort of thing be carefull on buying cut down cards though. after all these cards are on the mutherboard of the system as it is. Think I'm more confused than I was lol. also I'm guessing your card won't let you do line in either? - Original Message - From: shaun everiss [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: Gamers Discussion list gamers@audyssey.org Sent: Friday, October 03, 2008 7:12 PM Subject: Re: [Audyssey] microphone and stereo mix question for windows vista. there are 2 types. like me you have the stripped down version. that does not allow you that sort of access. you can have mic or stereo. which is really bad. there is no mic in the playback controls and there are seperate input and output devices. On xp my real tech high def card will not have mic and stereo mix on this laptop. the other laptop does I even tried upgrading the sounds resulting in a nice unstable computer and I had to go back to the old version. some cards are set that way. Does anyone know how to enable both stereo mix and the microphone on windows vista? I can only enable one or the other, not both. I'd really like to do some game recordings, but I can't figure out how to do this.
