[Tizen General] Problem report - url link to explaining installing build package broken

2012-10-23 Thread Journeyer J. Joh
Hello list, especially people in samsung or intel,

I found a broken link in the website below.

https://source.tizen.org/documentation/reference/git-build-system/installation

It's under the path below.

Home › Documentation › Reference › Git Build System › Installation

There is a url link to another web page as shown below.

Update 'build' package
To install the 'build' package, go to Installation 'build'

To go to install 'build', If user select the link, installation
'build' , user sees a notice that the DNS failed.

On Ubuntu, the C api, gethostbyname() returns no host entry for the
name tizen.jf.intel.com.

My system is not behind any HTTP proxy.

Best regards
Journeyer

  Hi,

  It seems that you are using command line repo and repos in gbs.conf,
  and these repo are conflict.

  If you want to use tizen-2.0_20121022.4, and don't want to change
  gbs.conf, please add --skip-conf-repos, like:

  $ gbs build --skip-conf-repos -R ... -R ...

  Thanks

[Tizen General] GBS local build error

2012-10-21 Thread Journeyer J. Joh
Hello list,

I am trying now to do a GBS local build and facing a (dependency??) problem.
Please help me.

I am doing this as the 'help content' of IDE explains.

Tizen Platform Programming Platform Development Environment Git
Build System Building with GBS Building with GBS Locally

I am doing this on several git-cloned packages;
 ssh://review.tizen.org:29418/apps/home/clock
 ssh://review.tizen.org:29418/apps/home/memo
 ssh://review.tizen.org:29418/apps/home/calendar

The help content instructs to do the following;

$ gbs build -R
http://download.tizen.org/snapshots/trunk/common/latest/repos/main/ia32/packages/
  \
-R
http://download.tizen.org/snapshots/trunk/common/latest/repos/base/ia32/packages/
  \
-A i586

And with this command I receive the following;

==
info: generate repositories ...
info: build conf has been downloaded at:
  /var/tmp/hum-gbs/tizen.conf
info: start building packages from: /home/hum/workspace/memo (git)
info: prepare sources...

 /home/hum/GBS-ROOT/local/repos/tizen
info: build roots located in:

==

I think this build is failed because I cannot find any rpm packages
under /home/hum/GBS-ROOT/local/repos/tizen

==
warning: the following packages build failed with missing depends packages:
org.tizen.memo
==

And this is the only message of this failure.

How can I trouble-shoot this?
Please help me.

Then the problem stems from the remote repository not from me...

 Please add --debug option like:

 Then the detail expansion error will be out.

 That's because some build dependency missing in remote repo not locally.

 Thanks

 Hello list,

 I am trying now to do a GBS local build and facing a (dependency??) problem.
 Please help me.

 I am doing this as the 'help content' of IDE explains.

 Tizen Platform Programming Platform Development Environment Git Build
 System Building with GBS Building with GBS Locally

 I am doing this on several git-cloned packages;
 ssh://review.tizen.org:29418/apps/home/clock
  ssh://review.tizen.org:29418/apps/home/memo
  ssh://review.tizen.org:29418/apps/home/calendar

 The help content instructs to do the following;

 $ gbs build -R
 http://download.tizen.org/snapshots/trunk/common/latest/repos/main/ia32/p
 ackages/
   \
 -R
 http://download.tizen.org/snapshots/trunk/common/latest/repos/base/ia32/p
 ackages/
   \
 -A i586

 And with this command I receive the following;

 ==
 info: generate repositories ...
 info: build conf has been downloaded at:
   /var/tmp/hum-gbs/tizen.conf
 info: start building packages from: /home/hum/workspace/memo (git)

[Tizen General] How can I acquire an OBS account?

2012-10-19 Thread Journeyer J. Joh
Hello list,

When I execute the command below,

gbs remotebuild -B Tizen:Main

I get 'error: empty user is not allowed for remotebuild, please add
user/passwd to gbs conf, and try again'.

Tizen Platform Programming Platform Development Environment Git
Build System  Configuring GBS

And in this place above, there is a note below :

Note that you do not have permission to perform remote builds without
proper OBS credentials.

So these mean that I need an OBS account and put it into the .gbs.conf.

Then where can I get the OBS account?

Best regards.

Also I wonder if this build system works now and if people now use this.
I cannot build via IDE nor via command line locally and remotely.

Best regards

Hello DongHee Yang,

You just said,
 Renewing project wizard and integrating GBS are almost finished.

Then I wonder when it would be released to public.
Is it going to be then beta?
And would it be way different than the current one?

Best regards
Journeyer J. Joh

2012/10/19 양동희 donghee.y...@samsung.com

  Dear Joh

 Use these URLs instead

 *
 http://download.tizen.org/snapshots/2.0alpha/common/latest/repos/tizen-base/armv7l/packages/

 *
 http://download.tizen.org/snapshots/2.0alpha/common/latest/repos/tizen-main/armv7l/packages/

 And now we are redesigning Plaform IDE because of these kind of usability
 problems.

 Renewing project wizard and integrating GBS are almost finished.

 If you have idea as platform developer, they will be great help for us.

 Thanks

 DongHee

 *Title* : [Tizen General] Repository URL to put into Package Manager

 Hello list,

 I am facing several problems in building a Platform Project.
 I am doing this as the 'help contents' in the Tizen IDE says.
 It's under the location below. It's in the 'help contents'.

 Tizen Platform Programming Platform Development Process Building
 the Platform Building the Platform Package in the IDE

 There is an explanation like this:

 If an error message is displayed in the Console tab, you must
 ***install the packages*** that are needed to build your project. Once
 the installation is complete, build your platform again.

 As this is explained, there is a problem during building the package I
 cloned.

 So I tried to install the packages needed.

 Tizen Platform Programming Platform Development Process Packaging
 the Platform  Installing Packages

 So I arrived this place and found an explanation below:

 If there is a warning message about the HTTP proxy environment
 variable, set the ***proxy configuration*** and restart the Package
 Manager to ensure that the warning message disappears.

 And the proxy configuration is explained in the following place.

 Tizen Platform Programming Platform Development Process Packaging
 the Platform Package Manager Proxy Settings

 OBS_HTTP_PROXY

 The help content says that this environment variable is a must to set.

 But actually I am not behind any HTTP Proxy!! (My Chrome's Proxy
 setting is EMPTY!!)
 I don't understand this but I set OBS_HTTP_PROXY to my default routing
 IP, the IP of gateway.

 And lastly I tried to set the Repository URL on the Package Manager.
 It is explained in the location below.

 Tizen Platform Programming Platform Development Process Packaging
 the Platform  Installing Packages

 But I couldn't find any repository URL. So I tried the URL below :

 http://download.tizen.org/tools/xUbuntu_11.10/

 But when I try to Refresh the Repository I put, I find error message
 from the Console view :

Hello Wang, Ning W and people of Samsung and Intel,

I found a bug during changing of my password in www.tizen.org.

I cannot login with a changed password.

[reproduce]
- Create an account.
- Go through 'forgot your password?' step.
- Receive an email with a link for one-time login to change password.
- Change password.
- And restart the browser (chrome)
- Try to logon (actually I am automatically logged on maybe because of
the browser cache?? This is another problem.)

:Sorry, unrecognized username or password. Have you forgotten your password?

- Go through 'forgot your password?' step.

This is infinite loop! I couldn't log on with a changed password. But
If I don't try to logout/logon I can access the site maybe because of
the cache??

I'd like to confirm and verify
- the Repository URL I must use
- the HTTP Proxy IP I can set (I am not behind HTTP firewall/Proxy, My
Chrome's Proxy setting is EMPTY!!)

And I wonder if building of Platform Package is even possible at this
stage. Do others compile this?

I am sorry for the too long question but this is very hard to explain.. for me.

Thank you very much in advance.

Hello DongHee Yang

Thank you for the information.

Let me then report some problem current IDE environment has.

#1. Serious problem is that the Package Manager(IDE) hangs and user cannot
stop or quit this problem.

In help content, there is a place explains this step, shown below.
Tizen Platform Programming Platform Development Process Packaging
the Platform  Installing Packages

When user click 'Refresh', IDE hangs and there will be no more response
from IDE.

#2. IDE requires HTTP Proxy address which users might not use at all.

In help content, there is a place explains this step, shown below.
Tizen Platform Programming Platform Development Process Packaging
the Platform Package Manager Proxy Settings

OBS_HTTP_PROXY

The help content says that this environment variable is a must to set. If
not, users get the error message below and IDE hangs.

' 에

오류 메시지 : couldn't connect to host

저장소 ' xUbuntu_11.10' 메타데이터 회수중 [.

To workaround this I'd set OBS_HTTP_PROXY to an open HTTP proxy 'tor'.
This way I was able to move to the next step.

Tor node I used is shown below.

최종 업데이트 :

#3. The repositories I have been given doesn't get connected. All the
repository urls below returns only 'Connection timeout'.

http://download.tizen.org/snapshots/2.0alpha/common/latest/repos/tizen-base/ia32/packages/
http://download.tizen.org/snapshots/2.0alpha/common/latest/repos/tizen-main/ia32/packages/

http://download.tizen.org/snapshots/2.0alpha/common/latest/repos/tizen-main/armv7l/packages/

For those problems I am not able to compile cloned native applications -
clock, calendar, memo, ...

And I wonder if there exists any other way I can make my cloned native
applicaitions get built with IDE.

Best regards

  Dear Joh

 Use these URLs instead

 *
 http://download.tizen.org/snapshots/2.0alpha/common/latest/repos/tizen-base/armv7l/packages/

 *
 http://download.tizen.org/snapshots/2.0alpha/common/latest/repos/tizen-main/armv7l/packages/

 And now we are redesigning Plaform IDE because of these kind of usability
 problems.

 Renewing project wizard and integrating GBS are almost finished.

 If you have idea as platform developer, they will be great help for us.

 Thanks

 DongHee

 As this is explained, there is a problem during building the package I
 cloned.

Hello Daniel Juyung Seo, Daehyeon Jung

I work for an institute in Korea and the institute is doing a project
with samsung. And the phone I use is given from samsung. And if you
want more information email me personally.
And I don't know about the lunchbox but this one has been ugly cased,
I guess it would be done intentionally.

 Flash to Device
 Describes, in more detail, how to flash an image to a lunchbox device

I didn't see this. The guide in the url is only for the
lunchbox(reference phone?), I now see. And surely, every different
phone has its own image.

I wonder if there exist images for my phone, GT-I9300 I can download
or if I can download source code for my phone and build it and flash
it to my device.

Thank you for your help but, the key map is different with this phone.

Maybe this kind of question is not proper on this open mail list, if
so, let me know.

Thank you very much.

Best regards

 As Daehyeon Jung said it should work with volume down + power key combination.
 It just detects the connection without any configuration if I connect
 the device with my computer by using micro usb.

 Can you try it again with another usb slot in your computer?
 And can you try it without usb extension if you used the usb extension before?

 Thanks.

 Hi Journeyer,

 Where did you get that GT-I9300_TIZEN phone?
 How does it look like that? Is it lunchbox(looks like prototype and ugly
 big) phone?

 Why don't you try following instruction which is normally Samsung developers
 do:
 Step 1. Took battery off from device and wait while completely turned
 off(about 10 sec for empty capacitor)
 Step 2. Put battery back on to device.
 Step 3. Press Volume Down Key first and press Power key simultaneously.

 If still no responds, try normal boot process and press volume down key to
 make sure it is not hardware malfunction.

 Title : Re: [Tizen General] Info

 Hello Daniel Juyung Seo,

 I found the magic key combination. It's + +
 . But there is another problem, GT-I9300_TIZEN doesn't get
 connected via usb

 On my ubuntu 12.04 I can connect my nexus via usb cable and with the
 same usb cable GT-I9300_TIZEN doesn't get connected. (The cable given
 with GT-I9300_TIZEN also)

 And on screen I found one sentence
 CUSTOM BINARY DOWNLOAD : No

 I wonder if this sentence means that this phone cannot get connected
 to any PC, or how I can connect this to my PC.

 Thank you in advance.

 Hello Daniel Juyung Seo,

 I am trying to follow your guide below.
 But the first problem I face is that my GT-I9300_TIZEN doesn't enter
 into the download mode event though I press +
 keys simultaneously.
 Does GT-I9300_TIZEN have different magic key combinations?

 It only boots up normally with the key combination. ( + )

 (THIS IS NOT AN OFFICIAL MAIL.)

 Hello, Samsung developer device means tizen reference phone?
 If so, sure you can flash Tizen 2.0a to your Tizen reference phone.
 I successfully flashed it on mine.

 Please refer https://source.tizen.org/documentation/reference/flash-device

 But 20120926 version is buggy so please use 20120921 version.

Re: [Tizen General] Doesn't 2.0 SDK use Scratchbox2 any more? (Journeyer J. Joh)

2012-10-10 Thread Journeyer J. Joh
Hi, Michał Guzieniuk

Thank you for this reply.

I just found the instructions on the blog there.
But that instruction uses toolchain in SDK 1.0 and convert .deb to
.rpm and just try the binary on an emulator 2.0.

I think this is not a 100% proper method because the toolchain SDK 2.0
provides must be used to make a binary for 2.0 emulator/target.

Are those two toolchains same?

Best regards
Journeyer

 Hi Jouneyer,

 You don't have to use proxy address unless you are in restricted network.
 If you are in restricted network(such as corporate network), you should
 contact your network admin. he/she will give you suitable proxy address.

 Title : [Tizen General] What proxy server am I supposed to use for Platform
 Development Environment?

 Hello list.

 Before using the Tizen platform development tools, set up proxy
 configurations for HTTP, HTTPS, and FTP using environment variables,
 as shown in the following example:

 $ export http_proxy=http://proxy.address.com:;
 $ export ftp_proxy=$http_proxy
 $ export https_proxy=https://proxy.address.com:;
 $ export no_proxy=internal.sites.com

 This is coated from the Help Contents of the Tizen IDE.
 (http://127.0.0.1:52641/help/topic/org.tizen.platform.programming/html/platform_dev_env/platform_dev_env.htm)

 I wonder what proxy addresses I can use.
 Are there any recommended proxy addresses?
 Can I use any open proxy in the internet?

 All those are for GBS/Gerrit/Git to be used to build Platform (Application).

 Best regards

 Then create Tizen Platform project in Tizen IDE.

[Tizen General] Can I replace gcc in Tizen SDK (or the Scratchbox) with Clang/LLVM ?

2012-09-25 Thread Journeyer J. Joh
Hello List!

Question #1.
I'd like to know if and how I can replace gcc in Tizen SDK (or the
Scratchbox) with clang/llvm.

Are there any documentation about this?

Or if it is not possible or too much difficult, I'd like to
use(execute) the
linker(/home/user/tizen_sdk/SDK/build-system/toolchains/gcc-4.5.3.sb2/usr/bin/ld)
outside of the Scratchbox.

I tried this, I mean, I just tried calling
/home/user/tizen_sdk/SDK/build-system/toolchains/gcc-4.5.3.sb2/usr/bin/ld
outside of the Scratchbox and received an error message below.

libbfd-2.20.1-system.20100303.so: cannot open shared object file: No
such file or directory

This means that LD_LIBRARY_PATH has to be set. The problem is setting
of it would make problem because it would affect side effect to whole
Ubuntubox I use due to the library version conflict between the one in
the Scratchbox and the other in the Ubuntubox I am on.

Question #2.
Are there any special magic method to call (execute) the binary in the
Scratchbox outside of the Scratchbox?

Question #3.
How can I upgrade the C library and C++ library in the Scratchbox?
My `apt-get install` for those libraries returns there is no later
versions than the current installed ones. But They are pretty old
version.

Thank you very much.
Best regards
