Hi, I think this problem is not *-ati (driver) related. Since the module needed for drm has the same name as the driver has, but resides in another directory. I would suggest you to check whether x11-base/x11-drm or to the kernel module is build for drm. Since I am using the package mentioned above, there is a .ko called /lib/modules/version/x11-drm/radeon.ko. As stage1, stage2 etc. will be upgraded in /boot/grub and also in /lib/grub/i386-pc. You should also check if /etc/mtab is available, because grub-install require this file to determine your partition structure. I think this is, although the 'cd' command is executed, necessary as the mount
command looks at /etc/fstab and if e.g. 'proc' is specified at command line
mount uses information from fstab.
However, I think this problem is whether mount nor bash related. Try
# mount -tproc proc /mnt/rescue/proc
# mount -obind /dev /mnt/rescue/dev
# chroot /mnt/rescue /bin/bash
Especially check the permissions of /mnt/rescue/bin/bash and /bin/bash. They
should be at least 0755. In case of there are several permission problems last
time on my system ('up-to-date-system', no ~*) rebuild the package that include
'chroot' so that right permissions are set for the program and its libs.

Hi. Try to determine possible resolutions by typing hwinfo --framebuffer. Use the hex code 0x... and put it as kernel parameter in your grub.conf. So AMD will stay ahead of the pack and if they find the right way (actually they're going the right way - open specifications) the competition is going on. I hope that nVidia won't acquire AMD. In fact atm. there is no measurable performance difference weather in IU nor in FPU operations, however AMD has a better performance/price. In HPCs AMD beats Intel because they don't use obsolete FSB. I am looking forward to the new CPU architecture where GPU and CPU find together. I am using Intel technology because chipset, wlan, bluetooth and so on are working great together, although there is no HypterTransport. Intel is going to follow AMD because they have the money.
