Re: [gentoo-user] ipw3945d no longer starting when wifi switch is set to on with udev-103 (without coldplug now)

I'm using the testing ipw3945d. I put the init script in my boot runlevel, but I think the magical way of doing it (which I'm going to test next time I boot this computer) is to put in /etc/conf.d/net: RC_NEED_{iface}=ipw3945d AFAICT, this will cause net.{iface} to first start ipw3945d. -Daniel *This .sig left intentionally blank* -- gentoo-user@gentoo.org mailing list

I use testing and i didn´ t had any problems after the update of udev. also testing comes with an rc-start-script now. greez jakommo

Hello Jakommo, I use testing (~x86), I see the startup script, but before coldplug took care of running it when I switched on my wifi, I'd like that same convenient way of doing things if possible. I let the script start at bootup and if I need wifi I turn the switch on and if I'm finished I turn it off and ipw3945d runs all the time if I need it or not, but I think it doesn't take that much capacity from my system.
