** BRAZIL. 9630.324, Jan 18 at 2230, JBA off-frequency, S5-S7,
presumed R. Aparecida in Portuguese. I haven`t heard even the carrier
of this for a long time, but presumed as such on signature
off-frequency. Its 11856v has been gone even longer, while 6135v has
continued more or less active, but I think not 5035 either. My last
log of it on 9630.3 was Feb 7, 2020, but I find one from Manuel M?ndez
on August 7, none since. Now it`s slightly stronger but less readable
than RVM on 9665v.

Recheck at 0320 Jan 19, 9630.3 is a JBA carrier, while 31m is
otherwise virtually dead of US signals, yet 11905-11915 RNA Brasil DRM
noise is detectable, but no AM signal on 11780. K-index is 3 with
strange conditions. But WRMI seems absent from all frequencies, see U
S A (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** KUWAIT. 5959.887 kHz, Jan 19 at 0353, via Bonaire SDR, first noted
as heavy splatter to 5950 when trying for WRMI, Arabic talk measured
here in SynchAM of 5960.000 minus 113v Hz carrier; 0355 music; 0358
two brief ~1 second breaks also visible on waterfall; 0400 Kuwait ID
and news, first about Yemen. This Kabd is always offset minus (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** SPAIN. 9690, Jan 18 at 2235, REE North American frequency is back
on after missing a week or more, S9+20 in Castilian, and presumably
English after 2300 on this Monday when I heard some music. But after
2235 NO signals on // 11940, 12030 or 11685 to be heard here nor by
TWR DR SDR (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TURKEY. 5960, Jan 18 at 2305, no signal from VOT English to us,
checked at DR SDR and even UTwente. Something`s always erroneous at
Ermiler. KUWAIT was VG later, tho, q.v. (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. WORLD OF RADIO 2069 monitoring: not confirmed UT Tuesday
January 19 at 0330 on WRMI 5800 since this and all transmitters are
off air during power outage; see separate report. FSR has pre-empted
WOR the past few weeks anyway contrary to skedgrid. Next:
1030 UT Wednesday WRMI 5850 to NW [still needs confirmation]
2100 UT Wednesday WRMI 7780 to NE
2200 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW
2300 UT Wednesday WRMI 9955 [jammed?] to SSE
0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S

Full schedule including AM, FM, webcasts, satellite, podcasts:
http://www.worldofradio.com/radioskd.html

Our non-commercial broadcasts and website depend on voluntary support:
thanks this week to Brandon Jordan, TN, for a contribution via PayPal
to woradio at yahoo.com and commenting: ``Heya Glenn. Thanks for all
you do for us SWDX?ers`` - also tnx to Brandon for the rx I use most.

One may also contribute by MO or check in US$ on a US bank to Glenn
Hauser, P O Box 1684, Enid OK 73702 USA (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 9975 KVOH, 9955 & 9395 WRMI, 9330 WBCQ, Jan 19 at 0323, no
signals or maybe traces, as K-index is 3 at 0300, but no storms
reported.

At 0325 I find 5800 WRMI also absent when FSR or WS should be on, and
still nothing after 0330 when FSR or WOR should be on. Then I check
all other possible WRMI frequencies, and hear no signals on 4980,
5010, 5850, 5950, 7570, 7730, 7780, so altho propagation is degraded,
WRMI must be totally silent for some reason. Just to be sure, also
check them to Bonaire SDR at 0352: none at all, including those aimed
thataway, 5800 & 9955.

Still at 0545 no signal e.g. on 5850 and I check disgraced FB:

``WRMI Radio Miami International 3 hrs ? Power outage at WRMI: at
about 0115 UTC January 19, the electrical power went out here at the
WRMI transmission plant. This means that all transmitters are off the
air at this time. Our Internet stream of 9955 kHz is still on with
emergency power. Florida Power and Light estimates that power should
be restored by around 0300 UTC, but this is just an initial estimate.
Hopefully we will be back on the air soon`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. Trans-Atlantic JBA MW carrier search, Jan 19 at
0334-0340 UT when K-index is 3 so not expecting much, but, beyond the
high local noise level at lowband: 639(2 with slow SAH of 108/minute =
1.8 Hz), *684(2), 693, *774(2), 837(2 slow), 882, 891, 909, 1017,
1044(2), *1053, 1107, 1215, 1224, 1296(2), 1305(3), 1665(?). * =
strongest. As for the SAH on 639, mwoffsets shows two of the RNE Spain
synchros are/were 1.8 Hz apart, but not including the big one of 300
kW at La Coru?a (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

I've got to figure my reception here in Alaska is one of a few things,
namely either what those in the lower 48 hear in the mornings TA's in the
evening, I hear as TPs along with over the Pole. My mornings are loaded
with Asian's along with Europe and Middle East. My nights are Canada and
the lower 48, as far east as Detroit, Chicago and .. Guymon, Oklahoma!

This is tops on the list, it's 400,000 Watt 1188khz MR4 Nemzetis?gi Ad?sok
in Hungary from Sun Jan 17, 2021 at 1805UTC. I'm glad no one was milling
about our village on a Sunday before sunrise because I was so thrilled with
how good this audio and signal is, I was pretending to somewhat excitedly
conduct my own orchestra. Audio:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1caLbQ2yoimIMrePU2g8uuK6guXaIabIq/view?usp=sharing

Another near top favorite of mine is Radio Eli, 1035khz from Estonia from
Mon Jan 18, 2021 at at 1730UTC. I like this because I don't recall seeing
many reports of folks logging Estonia on AM plus it's not a bad signal for
"only" 200KW. Audio:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/164iBZDMgsbjG9NN53Y2rCDWBNGMCp0XB/view?usp=sharing

Talk Sport 1089 was so clear one morning it sounded almost like Anchorage
or Fairbanks AM stations do. In fact, the signal got a bit clearer as I
listened AND.. the signal hung in for 14 plus minutes at near local
strength like. AUdio:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1h0qOCPxIr4srPPoF1DvwFtT6Iyrid3mk/view?usp=sharing

Here's SBA's Quran Channel on 882khz on Mon Jan 18, 2021 at 1631UTC. I like
this because I can't recall many people logging it. Audio:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1wYqvWbnh--NgKBNJBqpSA6YuKZoB_2nK/view?usp=sharing

I like this one because of the distance, power and the fact I think few
others have logged it. This is Radio Deckhova, 1233khz, only 10,000 Watts
from the Czech Republic. Recorded Sun Jan 17, 2021 at 1817UTC. Audio:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1oq1ZkeXjoONPRU9-ChSJpg5LByawIn7_/view?usp=sharing

This is Radio Quzain, 1125khz from Iran on Sat. Jan 16, 2021 at 1553UTC.
First time heard here and I haven't seen many if any reports from others.
Audio:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/128FLqb9WryQqUFOQUXHYm8CiTeTx2dTu/view?usp=sharing

1287, JOHR Sapporo, Japan is one of my favorite asians. Despite being "low
powered" at "only" 50,000 Watts its heard quite regularly, quite well land
for several minutes at a time. Here's a recent recording of them, audio:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/19nLPuFlKVpm0TVfXXe6QtSKpd9YjebY5/view?usp=sharing

Here's a recent clip from Radio Tabriz, Iran on 1026khz. Not a great
signal, but not horrible.. modulation and audio leave something to be
desired. The signal doesn't usually last long but will reappear several
times during the morning sometimes. Audio:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1UQi4sF9r-wFBw_IGAwPfxDfvi2xM-mrl/view?usp=sharing

I had Radio lasi 103.5 khz form Romania with glorious classical music,
about as good as I've ever heard anything on 1050-1053, considering the
beeping you hear in the background of this recording is my local 1kw
airport beacon, only 1.5 miles away! (most beacons are 25 to 100 watts or
so_. Audio:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1f20j8OIYIcTvWt2IEwRR7R5FwhO9K_Ep/view?usp=sharing

I had BBC 5 Live Sports on 909khz the other day and briefly even had an
echo in an earlier recording. First time heard here:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1w98eXq9zxowBrA-L_yQYrOkagTHqecm5/view?usp=sharing

I'll share some other stations audio later on.

P.s. Yes, our milk and gas are that expensive. No, no roads come up here
from Anchorage but we do have cars up here. Everything is flown in 6-9
months of the year and a barge is used in the summer. Electricity is very
expensive as well and internet is purely by satellite, no other options.

What I meant to say in that 2nd and 3rd line was, "What those in the lower
48 hear as TA's in evening, I hear as TPs or over the pole signals in the
morning. Don't how my confuzzled brain managed to get that part of the
paragraph wrong.

** CUBA. 13771 & 13630 & 13560, Jan 19 at 1413, FMish spurblobs with
F# tone from RHC 13700; 1511 recheck, 13770 at S6-S8, also 13631,

WOR)

** EAST TURKISTAN. 5960, Jan 19 at 2356-2400, as soon as Turkey off,
via UTwente, Chinese talk and traditional music until 5+1 timesignal,
i.e. PBS Xinjiang, Urumqi; land of Chicom genocide against the
Uighurs. BTW, in case you think I exaggerate unreasonably, hear this
starting at 24:10 into The World edition of Jan 19 as heard on KOSU:
https://www.npr.org/podcasts/381444246/pri-s-the-world
PBS Newshour also reports on this January 19
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TURKEY [and non]. 17720, Jan 19 at 1504, S6-S8 of unID talk, the
OSOB except for 17630 slightly better CRI English via MALI. 17720 is
VOT which has just started a 2-hour Arabic broadcast.

5960, Jan 19 at 2324, VOT English is on, unlike 24 hours earlier,
during feature on Turkish culture; 2353-2356* IS and off, uncovering
Xinjiang; as checked via UTwente (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 5800, Jan 19, latest revision of WRMI skedgrid has finally
removed WOR UT Tue 0330 and all other programming at 0300-0400 in
favor of `Freedom Synergy Radio` daily, except: VORW on UT Fridays.
WORLD OF RADIO monitoring, next:

1030 UT Wednesday WRMI 5850 to NW [still needs confirmation]
2100 UT Wednesday WRMI 7780 to NE
2200 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW
2300 UT Wednesday WRMI 9955 [jammed?] to SSE

Our non-commercial broadcasts and website depend on voluntary support:
thanks this week to Brandon Jordan, TN, for a contribution via PayPal
to woradio at yahoo.com and commenting: ``Heya Glenn. Thanks for all
you do for us SWDX?ers`` - also tnx to Brandon for the rx I use most.

One may also contribute by MO or check in US$ on a US bank to Glenn
Hauser, P O Box 1684, Enid OK 73702 USA (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 5850 & 5950, Jan 19 at 0709, WRMIs-12 and -8 are still off,
so presumably all the others too. Bob Biermann later informs that
power finally restored at 0739.

15770, Jan 19 at 1501, my first check finds WRMI-9 back on here, with
SMTV stuff about nim cruelty.

9955, Jan 19 at 1502, WRMI-3 still on with `Freedom Synergy Radio`
about smart farming in Taiwan, S9+20. Skedgrid has been updated again
contrarily to show TOMBS now at 1500-1530 M-F and 1530-1700 daily
along with other expansions. Yes, 9955 still on with BS at 1648 check,
VP via DR SDR (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. Trans-Pacific JBA MW carrier search, January 19 at
1327-1345: Looping NW on the DX-398 so from Japan/E Asia: 594, 693,
747, 774, 828, 972, 1323, 1422, 1566. From WSW so Australia: 702,
1548. Uncertain DF: 1503, 1512, both nothing more than 10 kW from
either. LSR here was 1341 UT.

1566, from 1342 Jan 19, paying special attention to surely 250 kW
Jeju, South Korea, but seems to have a slight beat from second
carrier, China? But no more than 10 kW there. At 1344 a 3+1
timesignal(?) cuts thru and then the station weakens, i.e. when FEBC
change antenna patterns and languages from Japanese to Chinese. Is
that non-hour TS typical of HLAZ?

One of the clubs has compiled a timesignal reference but I have not
found it again (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

This report despatched at 0028 UT January 20
