I rephrase a message form From: Avi Weinryb Assistant director of the Israel
Action network

Hi All,
There will be an academic boycott resolution at the Jan. 5-8 MLA meeting in
Philadelphia targeting Israeli universities and over 40 MLA members are
organizing around it. If you know of anyone attending the MLA meeting, whom
you believe would be interested in joining the effort to see the resolution
defeated, please let me know at avi.wein...@gmail.com or 315-450-6147 . Also,
please direct them to www.scholarsrights.com where they can sign a petition and
learn more about the issues.

Wishing everyone a happy holiday and a wonderful 2017,

Avi

To: jbenefr...@aju.edu

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

As we now enter another year of fellowship cycles, *we wish to thank each
and every **one of you for your continuous support, and for taking an
active part in our growing community.*

We recently launched a call for applications for the 2017 Inquiry
Fellowship, which can be found (and submitted) *in our website
.*

In this program, fellows are invited to join monthly sessions, to be held
over six months, during which they will be able to share ideas, interact
with colleagues, and meet Jewish thinkers and scholars. Inquiry is designed
to encourage exploration and learning of Jewish ideas, while developing the
meeting points between creative practice and the broader cultural context
in which artists work.

*Please spread the word* and share the link with your communities. We look
forward to expand this conversation and invite more creative minds to take
part. The deadline is January 11, 2017.

[ha-Safran] LA Area Archivist Position

2016-12-21 Thread Jacqueline Benefraim
Shalom,

Here's another job listing that might work well for one of our members. You
might ask what does a collection on China have to do with Jews besides Chinese
food on Christmas? CSUN's holdings has a large collection of items about the
Jewish community in China, especially those who fled there during WWII.

Hope we are reaching out to those MLIS members who work in archives,

Jackie
