have come from award winners both Sydney Taylor and Jewish Book Council. Has
anyone created a database of winners, honor books and notables sorted by age
group? I have about 400 books to relabel.

Re: [ha-Safran] Young Adult winners versus Middle Grade winners

2023-08-14 Thread Martha Simpson via Hasafran
Hi Michelle,

When I chair the STBA 2022 and 2023 committees, I was hoping to find an
easy way to sort the books, too. I ended up creating a spreadsheet of all
129 pages of books so the list would be searchable in various ways.
Webmaster Sheryl Stahl activated the search function.

If you scroll down to *All Past Winners*, you will see a search box on the
right (just above the column for Category). You can type in Picture Book,
Middle Grade, or Young Adult in the search box, and just those books will
be listed.

You can also search for just Winner, Honor, or Notable books using the same
search box.

Otherwise, the books are listed by year (the most recent one first). Then
the Winners (PB, MG, and YA) are listed first, followed by the Honors (PB,
MG, and YA)and Notables (PB, MG, and YA).

The Search box will also sort books by creator (author, illustrator,
translator, or editor if it's an anthology), subject keyword, and publisher
(although publisher names have changed over the years.)

Anyway, you should be able to sort STBA books by age category. If you want
to purchase gold, silver, or bronze seals for your books, you can

Hope this helps.
