Re: [JAWS-Users] Windows 10 mail;

2016-09-24 Thread Kenny

Your steps are correct.

The mail app will mirror whatever messages she currently has stored in her
account at Gmail.com. That's one of the advantages of using iMap over POP3.
Any new messages to and previous messages stored in her gmail account will
be sync in the Mail app.

Believe there is an option in settings for restricting how far back you want
the Windows 10 mail app to retrieve previous messages.

Good afternoon to all;

One of my client's would like to setup the windows 10 mail client.

I would like to just verify some information,

1, to setup the email account,

I need to go to,

Settings, windows-key+i

2, tab to the list of items, and right arrow and enter on,

Accounts,

3, then I need to again tab once,

Now, arrow down and enter on,

Email accounts,

4, again I need to tab and here I see, add email account,

Here I would add enter.

Now the type of account is Gmail,

So, I assume I choose google?

Now, when I go through the setup,

Will my client just receive all new messages from the Gmail account?

Or, can my client receive all previous mail.

Just want to make sure I will do this right.

In advance, thank you.

Hi Angel,

Try the steps below to get the Jaws cursor to work:
 From: Dave "Farfar" Carlson
 I may have the solution, provided by another lister. This worked for me
 using JAWS 15 on Windows 7, and was reported to work using JAWS 14, as
well.
 Beyond that, I don't know.

 * beginning of snip *

 Reviewing a Web Page With the JAWS Cursor While Using Mozilla Firefox
 Version 4 and newer
 (Adapted from a GW Micro Knowledge Base article)

 When using Mozilla Firefox version 4 or newer, reviewing web pages using
the
 JAWS Cursor is problematic. Mozilla is using a new graphical technology
in

 Firefox version 4 and newer which bypasses the offscreen model, (OSM).
Since
 JAWS For Windows depends on the OSM to allow the user to review the
screen

 using the JAWS Cursor, things don't work the same as with older versions
of
 Firefox, (such as version 3.6).

 Solution:

 1. Launch Mozilla Firefox.
 2. Press Control-L to open a new link.
 3. Type "about:config" and press Enter.
 4. If you are presented with a dialog which warns you about the dangers
of

 making changes, Tab to the "I'll be careful, I promise!" button and press
 Enter.
 5. At this point you should be out of Virtual Cursor mode and on a filter
 Edit Box. If not, turn off Virtual Cursor mode by pressing JAWS Key - z.
 6. In the filter Edit Box type "direct2d.disabled".
 7. Press Tab to get to the list of filtered entries and you should see
one

 called "gfx.direct2d.disabled" with a default value of False.
 8. Press Enter to toggle this value to True.
 9. Press Shift-Tab to get back to the filter Edit Box and type
 "layers.acceleration.disabled".
 10. Press Tab to get to the list of filtered entries and you should see
one
 called "layers.acceleration.disabled" with a default value of False.
 11. Press Enter to toggle this value to True.
 12. Press Control-W to close the configuration window.
 13. Restart Firefox.

 you should now be able to use the JAWS Cursor to review web pages while
 using Mozilla Firefox version 4 and newer.

Take care.

[JAWS-Users] Resolved, In Windows 10, how can I truly make Internet Explorer the default web browser?

2016-09-24 Thread Mike O'Brien
Hi

I want to thank everyone who gave me a recommendation on how to solve my
problem of not being able to use IE as my default program without the "How
do you want to open this web site?" dialog. I was experiencing the problem
because I use Microsoft Outlook 2010. I found a Registry fix from Microsoft
that fixes my problem. You can find information about this fix at

Again, thanks for the help.

Hi

Thank you for the response. Unfortunately, the results were the same when I
attempted to make Internet Explorer the default browser using the control
panel as when I had used the Default Programs app. I also tried changing
the default browser back to Edge, which allowed me to open that browser with
no dialog when I opened a link in an email. Then I used the Control Panel
to again make IE the default browser. But again every time I open a link in
at email I first get the dialog that says;

When I press tab in this dialog, I Hear;

use the default browser list box Internet Explorer

When I press tab again I hear;

Always use this app to open www.whatever check box not checked.

So I press space to check this and then tab to the OK button and press
enter.  But nothing changes.

[JAWS-Users] Windows 10 mail;

2016-09-24 Thread David Whitehead

Good afternoon to all;
I sent this message yesterday, not sure if it actually made it to the list.
 One of my client's would like to setup the windows 10 mail client.
 I would like to just verify some information,
 1, to setup the email account,
I need to go to,
 Settings, windows-key+i
 2, tab to the list of items, and right arrow and enter on,
Accounts,
 3, then I need to again tab once,
Now, arrow down and enter on,
Email accounts,
 4, again I need to tab and here I see, add email account,
Here I would press  enter.
 Now the type of account is Gmail,
So, I assume I choose google?
 Now, when I go through the setup,
Will my client just receive all new messages from the Gmail account?
Or, can my client receive all previous mail.
 Just want to make sure I will do this right.
In advance, thank you.
