Re: [JAWS-Users] Windows 10 mail;
Your steps are correct. The mail app will mirror whatever messages she currently has stored in her account at Gmail.com. That's one of the advantages of using iMap over POP3. Any new messages to and previous messages stored in her gmail account will be sync in the Mail app. Believe there is an option in settings for restricting how far back you want the Windows 10 mail app to retrieve previous messages. -Original Message- From: David Whitehead Sent: Friday, September 23, 2016 2:40 PM To: Jaws Users List Subject: [JAWS-Users] Windows 10 mail; Good afternoon to all; One of my client's would like to setup the windows 10 mail client. Mozilla is using a new graphical technology in Firefox version 4 and newer which bypasses the offscreen model, (OSM). Since JAWS For Windows depends on the OSM to allow the user to review the screen using the JAWS Cursor, things don't work the same as with older versions of Firefox, (such as version 3.6). Solution: 1. Launch Mozilla Firefox. 2. Press Control-L to open a new link. 3. Type "about:config" and press Enter. 4. If you are presented with a dialog which warns you about the dangers of making changes, Tab to the "I'll be careful, I promise!" button and press Enter. 5. At this point you should be out of Virtual Cursor mode and on a filter Edit Box. If not, turn off Virtual Cursor mode by pressing JAWS Key - z. 6. In the filter Edit Box type "direct2d.disabled". 7. Press Tab to get to the list of filtered entries and you should see one called "gfx.direct2d.disabled" with a default value of False. 8. Press Enter to toggle this value to True. 9. [JAWS-Users] Resolved, In Windows 10, how can I truly make Internet Explorer the default web browser?
Hi I want to thank everyone who gave me a recommendation on how to solve my problem of not being able to use IE as my default program without the "How do you want to open this web site?" dialog. I was experiencing the problem because I use Microsoft Outlook 2010. I found a Registry fix from Microsoft that fixes my problem. Then I used the Control Panel to again make IE the default browser. But again every time I open a link in at email I first get the dialog that says; When I press tab in this dialog, I Hear; use the default browser list box Internet Explorer When I press tab again I hear; Always use this app to open www.whatever check box not checked.
