Re: [JAWS-Users] Jaws2018,Win 10-1803 and WLM

2018-05-17 Thread Marie
Oh I am so glad to hear that others love WLM as I do and I also will
continue to use it as long as possible. This current issue is, to me, a
minor annoyance compared to any other email client I have tried. and I think
I have tried just about all of them.

WLM has been abandoned for quite some time. Still it continues to work so I
keep using it. Nothing else out there really does it for me at this time.

[JAWS-Users] Getting My Messages With Gmail, How I Did It

2018-05-17 Thread Mike B.
Hi All,

Okay folks, in order for me to be able to receive my posts' sent to the
Jaws-Users list I had to do the following using Gmail with Outlook Express:

Open up the tools menu, then arrow down to accounts and press enter.

Once in the dialog box, highlight your Gmail account, and tab to the
properties button, and press the spacebar.

In the resulting dialog box, control+tab to the servers page, and tab down
to the, Account Name, edit field.

In the Account Name field, type the word recent with a colon before your
e-mail address.

So, if you're typing this information into your e-mail field, you would type
in:

recent:usern...@gmail.com

Tab down to the apply button, then shift+tab back to the ok button and press
the spacebar.

You'll land back on the accounts dialog box, at which point, you tab to the
close button, then press the spacebar again.

The next time you send and receive your messages, you'll receive each and
every message you ever sent via Gmail, so be prepared to get a flood of
e-mails once you do this.
Take care.

The directions have been on the server for years already Mr. Mike, never the
less it is working for you and that is all that matters.

Okay, just need to verify this setting. I put, recent:, in front of my
email address and Gmail domain on the Servertab instead of on the General
tab.
Take care.

WLM has been abandoned for quite some time. Still it continues to work so I
keep using it. Nothing else out there really does it for me at this time.

Marie: I was informed, about 2-3 weeks ago, that Microsoft is no longer
supporting WLM, so am uncertain as to whether it is a JAWS issue or not. But
keep on VFO, and see what happens.

Since updating to 1803, sporadically Jaws refuses to read the body of some
emails. Generally I can close the email and re-open it and Jaws read it just
fine.
It also seems that this occurs after having an open Word 2016 doc?

1803 is giving a lot of people issues. This doesn't help you right now, but
at least you know you're not alone so to speak.

List, have a Toshiba 5500 series laptop moving toward end of its life.

Anyone purchased a current Toshiba or Dell laptop that works well with Jaws
and is not a touch screen computer?

How about any other newer purchased laptops?

Thank you for any thoughts.

John
