[JAWS-Users] Chat with Thunderbird?
Hi, I see and have seen, but never messed with it that there is a chat section in Thunderbird. I'm using the latest version of both JAWS and Thunderbird. Do any of you know if I could easily and comfortably use the Face Book and Twitter portions of this? [JAWS-Users] Help, please?
Hi, I'm dealing with this annoying issue in my emails. I'm using Windows 7 Home Premium, JAWS 15 and Thunderbird 24.2.0. When reading emails, I hear this XWestern thing before any text of the email, on blank lines and such. When trying to demonstrate this problem to others by forwarding a message to them, they do not hear this. I've had my settings to read in HTML and Plain Text with the same results. It does not do this if reading messages with NVDA. Can anyone help please? It also did this with JAWS 14. Do I need to back Thunderbird back to a previous version, change a setting or am I just stuck with this? Thank you. [JAWS-Users] Possible bug in JAWS 15 with latest Skype?

Re: [JAWS-Users] jaws saying wrong things at times
Hi, I have a different question about JAWS saying wrong things or not saying things. I'm running Windows 8 and JAWS 14 as I haven't installed the update yet. Sometimes I've noticed if I'm reading something and try to use ctrl left or right arrow instead of hearing the word, I hear . In some messages I was sending today I would sign Lisa as I will here or things I'd put in the message it wouldn't read it till I hit left arrow and then it was there, but if I did the command up arrow-JAWS it would not read that it was there. My mail program is the latest beta for Thunderbird and I keep saying I'm going to downgrade it, but I might not have to. Have any of you seen this behavior or do you know of a fix? Thanks and sorry for the long post. Lisa On 10/29/2013 12:15 PM, maryjane griffith wrote: Hello I have windows 8 and Microsoft office 2010 the problem I am having is. Re: [JAWS-Users] Microsoft Windows 8 And JAWS
Hi, Like someone else that posted here, when I first began using Win 8, I loved it too until I started trying to do more of the things I'm used to doing and discovered some of its inaccessibility issues so I reverted back to 7 and that was a nightmare. I don't like that I could never get the Weather or news app to read with either JAWS or NVDA. I did not like that I could not use the built in chat feature. I was also disappointed that the built in mail program wasn't accessible for me. I'm happy in Windows 7 again till things are more accessible with 8. Lisa On 11/23/2012 12:44 PM, Steve wrote: That is kind of a broad question. Is it worth the upgrade in terms of what? Just to generalize, my take would be as follows: If things perform as you like now, then it is probably not worth the upgrade. If you want quicker boot-up times, you may get them with Windows 8. If you are an access trainer, as I was, then you might want to put it on your system either as an upgrade, or as a dual-boot so you can become familiar with some of the new features as the experience is quite a bit different from earlier versions of Windows. - Original Message - From: Steven Hicks steven.hick...@btconnect.com To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Sent: Friday, November 23, 2012 12:43 AM Subject: [JAWS-Users] Microsoft Windows 8 And JAWS Hi friends, is anyone using Microsoft Windows 8 and JAWS that can tell me if it is worth the upgrade please, my Wife has offered to buy it for me for a present. Re: [JAWS-Users] Windows 8 / JAWS 14 Installation Problem
Hi Tim, I did not have the same experience as you, but once JAWS was installed, the authorization box popped up so I went through the steps to authorize it, restarted JAWS as it said and then the authorization box came up again after telling me the authorization was successful. I called FS as didn't have any more authorizations left. For some reason I'm only getting 1 at a time which makes it difficult if something comes up on the weekend and I have none. Good thing have NVDA as a backup I guess. LOL Anyway, FS had never heard of this and she said she would bring it to the attention of those that needed to know as it could be a bug with JAWS 14. Has this happened to any of you? Also, MS Word told me yesterday I had to register it again so hope that doesn't stick. Have today left and my time will be up, it said. [JAWS-Users] JAWS sending emails
Hi all, I'm using JAWS 13 as don't usually run beta programs. I'm using it on a Windows 7 Dell laptop and my mail client is Thunderbird, the latest version. Whenever I try to send a message to certain people in my address book JAWS will put a ( before the address and a ) after it thus causing the message not to be sent. If I clear the address from my book I can then create a brand new message manually typing it in and it goes just fine. Thank God I also have NVDA on my system to do little tests like this and I hadn't even planned to test it, but I ended up in here with NVDA and was able to create a message with one of the addresses JAWS gives me problems on. Do you have another screen reader on your machine? If so you could try using that screen reader to enter the password and see if it works. That will tell you if the problem is jaws or not. -Original Message- From: jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of Lenny McHugh Sent: Monday, July 30, 2012 4:37 PM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] nls bard and jaws 13 no, they have been working on it and they set up the temp password. [JAWS-Users] playing you tube files?
Hi all, I can play these files with no problem and don't recall having to do anything to do this. I use Firefox for my browser. My best friend uses IE and she can't play them at all. I also tried this in IE and I couldn't play them. Is there some sort of add on I need to get to be able to play them or that she needs to get to be able to play them? Thanks for all the neat shortcuts and info about this player. Now, if only Adobe would get more user friendly. [JAWS-Users] MediSoft JAWS?
Hi, I jumped into this thread late so if this has been covered, please forgive me? I'm hoping to begin school in the fall to train to be a medical coder and I know they use MediSoft software. I called FS and they told me to ask lists as other people might know. Do any of you know anything about whether this software works with JAWS or if there are issues? Thanks. [JAWS-Users] Kendall PC reader JAWS?
Hi all, This may have been discussed before, but I missed the thread, sorry. Is it possible to read Kendall books from Amazon or other places using the Kendall PC reader? Thanks and I might have the name partially incorrect, but it's where you can read them using your computer without having the actual physical reader. Thanks. [JAWS-Users] Reading .xml documents in IE
Hi all, I used to read the papers from Newsline and when I got them they were in .XML files. I used to be able to read them in IE, but now, I can't. Do I need to do something special to be able to do this? I'm using Windows 7 Home Premium, JAWS 12 and IE 9. Thanks and I really hope someone can help as I loved doing that.
