If you have Jaws 11.1430, you can down load AIM, and it's accessible with
the chat feature. And you don't need to sign up with AOL either, just
choose to use your current email address, and it will import your facebook
contacts right in to your buddy list. Not only that, if you use twitter you
can post to both that and facebook at the same time. And the best thing

 Hi,

This is for Internet Explorer 7.

 Go to www.facebook.com

Press Enter on the link which says, Open Chat

A new window will open. You can now choose the person you wish to talk to.
After finding that person, press Enter on that name.
On top of the page, arrow down till you hear, View Profile.
Below it, there should be an Edit box where you can type the message.
This box is like the history window for Windows Live Messenger.
If you hear your name followed by the time stamp spoken then by the
message, you have sent that message. If your friend responds, you
 should hear a Pop sound.

  Hope this method works.

Hi,

I might just stick with the normal way. Imagine opening different
windows for the different IM clients out there at the same time--WLM,
YIM, GTalk, AIM and what have you. Grins
You will definitely have fun Alt+Tabbing. =)
Anyway, thank you for the suggestion of AIM, will be useful for
those who struggles with the regular Facebook site.

 Regards,
 Siew Ling

 Justin,

The information below may seem tedious but it becomes more natural the

Ok here it goes. 1.) go to facebook.com. 2.) move down the page to where
JAWS says Chat and the number of people on will read after it says chat.
 3.)
Route to Jaws cursor by pressing jaws key + the minus key on the number
 pad.
4.) At this point it gets a little tricky you will need to move to I
 usually
go to about the second letter of the word chat and do a left mouse click
using the number pad that key is the divide sign). 5.) After pressing the
left mouse click you should turn back on pc cursor and scroll down
underneath chat it may say loading at this point I usually will press the
jaws key and the escape key at the same time this key combination updates
the screen usually it works the first time but should it not then try it
again. So this is the instructions for opening the chat area.

Instructions for getting a chat going:
1.) scroll down with PC cursor activated to the name you want.
2.) Once you are at the name you want press enter on it.
3.) I then will pull up the jaws find using the key combination (control
 +
 the letter F)
4.) At this point I will type in the name of the person I am wanting to
 chat
with and repeat this step until I am in the chat screen. You can find
 this
out by each time you find their name scroll down a bit and see if their
 is
additional information on this person such as view profile or close chat
window. another option is scroll down underneath the chat list and find
 the
 chat window that way.

NOTE: I have autoforms turned off using the jaws key and the letter V and
scrolling down to where it says auto forms on. I am not sure about this
 but
I believe you then press enter to toggle auto forms off if enter does not

 do
it then try pressing space bar.
   * * * With auto forms mode off I scroll down into the chat window and
listen for it to say edit at that point I can press enter and turn forms
mode back on. Once you type your message you then will press enter again
 to
 send the message.
You can check to see if the message was sent by scrolling through the
 chat
window and looking for your message. Above your message their should be
 your
name or it might say the word me and a time (if the message was sent
 successfully).
Possible Problems: I just recently started encountering this problem but
after typing the message and hitting the enter key it just sits there.
FIX TO PROBLEM: After hitting enter I then will press the escape key in
 the
upper right hand of the keyboard

Justin,

FIX TO PROBLEM: After hitting enter I then will press the escape key in the
upper right hand of the keyboard and usually this fixes it.

PROBLEM 2: After sending messages for a while sometimes the messages will
not go through.
FIX TO PROBLEM: I either have to close the chat window and try reopening it
and typing again the message or if that does not work then I completely
leave facebook and log back into it. This usually will fix the problem.
I hope this information helps and gets you chatting. Should you have
problems find me on fb and I will send you a message lawdog...@comcast.net
and I will see if we can get you chatting that way. Just listen for a pop
sound that alerts you that you have a message on chat. You can also email
off list and we will see what we can do to get you chatting. I apologize if
this is too elementary for you but I try to be as basic as I can since I am
fairly new to jaws and I am not always familiar with the jaws terminology.
