Can you press cap lock twice quickly and hear either cap lock on or cap lock
off? If so, then it is working correctly. If this doesn't work for you call
FS. Because if that doesn't work for you after all of the people on this
list who have tried to help you with this, they can not help you solve your
proplem. That is Where FS should come in, call them!

Vicky, If you have the laptop keyboard configuration set up on your
computer, you should be able to tap quickly on the cap lock key and hear
either cap lock on, or cap lock off. When cap lock is on you will type in
all caps. With the cap lock off you will use the shift key to type an
uppercase letter. You probably already know that. But here's the thing, if
it is not working that way for you, then, it is time to call FS.

I was just looking for the key itself, which is the caps lock and how to
turn it off when I need to use the shift key.

For some reason, tapping it twice quickly has no effect. If I change the
JAWS key to another key, my caps lock key works fine, so I know it's not an
issue with the physical key on the keyboard.

I'm just wondering if there is something else I need to adjust to get it to
function correctly when tapping twice to use as a caps lock key.

the capslock key is the insert key if you are using the laptop layout,
the keystroke to bring up the jaws cursor is: capslock+p, to bring up

however you can toggle the capslock on and off by double tapping it

Howdy,

A minor correction: The pass through keystroke is, Jaws key + 3, on the
number row above the main keyboard,

Jaws key + B, = Says the controls in the dialog box in their correct Tab
Order.

Take care. Mike. Sent from my iBarstool.

So is the caps lock key currently acting as the JAWS key? If so, try the
JAWS pass through keystroke caps lock plus the letter b. Then press the caps
lock key. I am not sure if will work but if is worth a try.

You don't need to press the alt cap lock to turn it on or off. Just tap on
your cap lock key twice quickly without pressing any other key to turn cap
lock on or off.

When set to laptop layout, the caps lock acts as a toggle. If you want to
invoke the capslock for instance, if you want to type aan entire word in
caps, press it twice quickly. Jaws will say, caps lock on. Once you are
finished, toggle it off by pressing it twice quickly again.

My problem is that I cannot turn the caps lock key back to using it as a
caps lock, so when I type, everything is in caps and if I use the shift key
to capitalize the first letter of something and leave the rest in small
letters, it doesn't work.

Re: [JAWS-Users] JAWS keystroke needed

2018-02-08 Thread LeDon
Vicky, If you have the laptop keyboard configuration set up on your
computer, you should be able to tap quickly on the cap lock key and hear
either cap lock on, or cap lock off. When cap lock is on you will type in
all caps. With the cap lock off you will use the shift key to type an
uppercase letter. You probably already know that. But here's the thing, if
it is not working that way for you, then, it is time to call FS.

an issue with the physical key on the keyboard.

I'm just wondering if there is something else I need to adjust to get it
to function correctly when tapping twice to use as a caps lock key.

not sure what your looking for hear;
the capslock key is the insert key if you are using the laptop layout,
the keystroke to bring up the jaws cursor is: capslock+p,
to bring up the pc cursor, capslock+semi colon.

2018-02-07 Thread cheez
Vicki. You said you wanted to turn the caps lock off when you need to use
the shift key.
I may be misunderstanding you here, but, the caps lock and the shift key are
2 different keys. Therefore, other than using the caps lock in the laptop
layout, you wouldn't use the caps lock to capitalize one letter. but you
know that.
Unless you have a strange keyboard like I have that has only one windows
key.

however you can toggle the capslock on and off by double tapping it
