 Hi

I would be interested to read an expert's answer on what is going on here.
Sometimes it seems that the msgstr is pre-filled with a lot of random junk.
 In this case:

 #-#-#-#-# index.po (PACKAGE VERSION) #-#-#-#-#\n
 Tùy chọn\n
 #-#-#-#-# chrdlg.po (PACKAGE VERSION) #-#-#-#-#\n
 Tùy chọn\n
 etc
 etc

I interpreted this sort of thing as rubbish, deleted it all, and replaced it
with the translation of the word
Options. I compared it with what has been done in the French translation,
and that is what they have done too.

It is not rubbish, it tells the translator in its imperfect way that
the word Options was translated as Tùy chọn in index,po, as Tùy
chọn chrdlg.po etc. Somewhere below there will be a different
translation, this is why the pomigrate2 tool lists all occurrences.
Translator can decide what the correct translation is, and replace the
 list with the correct translation.

 Best regards,
 Andras

Thanks, Andras. I hoped there was a logical explanation, but it never occurred
to me that it was useful stuff.

Hi Kendy, all

For pt-BR that will be OK.

I am a bit concerned that we rush for 3.5 and leave this issue unfinished.

I guess LibreOffice will send a ping to a given URL and get a response
that a new version is available. I affirmative, can this URL be placed
in a configuration (XML) file (so that special deployments can handle it)

Also, as far as I remember, OpenOffice had a download interface for the
new version. Are you going to reactivate it? I would also like to let
special deployments to handle the download URL in a XML file.

Thank you

Olivier

Hi,

Due to some late features, on
http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/ReleasePlan/3.5 we can read that
Hard English string UI freeze is on Week 2, Jan 9 - Jan 15, 2012.
Previously it was Dec 19, 2011. Today I checked if there were string
changes, and there were 3 modified and 1 new strings. So I decided to
cherry-pick Delete $1 (Header/Footer) and Insert + Rows/Columns
patches, too. I'll announce here, when I update Pootle.

Yes, it is there and it fixes bug. It is good to have it in 3.5. I
think it is not a disaster to break the string freeze as long as it is
properly communicated to translators. We still have 5-6 weeks until

AFAIAC, if it is only a restore with minor updates, then it should not be a
problem. It would be much worse to see only English text there, even if
applicable translations already exist somewhere ...

So - good news :-) The text was never removed, only its building, so it
should not affect the translations in any way. Now it is building
again, so the update-related dialogs should have help again.
