[lace] Seasons greetings

2011-12-23 Thread nicky.hoewener-townsend

Hi to all
Amidst the final preparations before family begin to arrive I just wanted to
say thank you to everyone who has participated on arachne over the past
year, there is such a wealth of knowledge out there and it's a great way
sharing that knowledge - thank you to Liz for getting it going and to Avital
for watching over it for us - thank you Laurie for your Lace News site, I
hope you are making a good recovery from your recent operation.

I'm looking forward to catching up with the Christmas card exchange pictures
later next week, but meanwhile may I wish everyone all the very best for the
forthcoming festivities, seasons greetings to you all where ever you are and
however you celebrate.

Nicky in Suffolk

Yes, from me too, thank you all very much for all the help and advise I have
received this year, with the receipt of my Arachne Lace exchange yesterday.

All the very best to everyone in this season, hoping you all have a special

[lace] Seasons greetings

2011-12-23 Thread Gray, Alison J
Before I turn off my computer for the Christmas holiday I just wanted to send
seasons greetings to everyone on Arachne. And to thank everyone who has
encouraged me to step out of my comfort zone lace wise this year. And to
thank Brenda and the Lace Guild for their Advent calendars.

Here's hoping that whatever you do over the next couple of weeks it involves
lace.

Alison in Colchester, Essex where it's a grey day, but my eldest son's come
home for the holiday

[lace] linen hankie

2011-12-23 Thread Janis Savage

Hello David
DH went to the post box today and came back with a small box which he could
not figure out what was inside. As soon as I saw it I knew that it was the
linen hankie from you. I did not believe that it would arrive before
Christmas but, thanks to a lot of posties working overtime, it did.
It is a beautiful hankie in fine linen and I will make sure that I make an
edging worthy.

Many thanks from
Janis in Honeydew, South Africa
where it has been 29C all week but rain is forecast for Christmas day.

2011-12-23 Thread Clay Blackwell

Dear David,

My hankie parcel arrived today also! It was fun to have an early
Christmas Present, and like Janis, I am inspired to make lace worthy of
the fine linen!

Have a very happy Holiday!!

[lace] New lace magazines

2011-12-23 Thread Daphne Martin
Hello Everyone
I`d just like to say about the new Lace magazines Vueltay Cruz
Twist and Cross.
I received my magazines today and I have to say I`m definately not
disappointed. There are three lovely glossy magazines with patterns and
instructions for beginners, plus lovely patterns for us more mature
lacemakers as well.
A big thankyou goes to Antje for telling us about and making the magazines
available to us all.
Has anyone else subscribed yet?? They are worth the money I promise you.
Daphne
