RE: [LegacyUG] LUG ARCHIVES
Ron, I just gave Dick's URL a try and got the same response 403 Forbidden and I'm using a Windows PC running XP. Could be just the site itself being off line temporary as I have had the same msg from other sites in the past yet when I try a bit later it works. Re: [LegacyUG] LUG ARCHIVES
If the archives are working for some and not others, then I'd suggest you might try purging your browser cache. Best way for Internet Explorer - shut IE down, right click on the link on the desktop, select PROPERTIES, then under BROWSING HISTORY, select DELETE, then pick your item(s) to delete (I usually do a DELETE ALL, but that can also get rid of SOME useful cookies - your choice). Yes, you can do this cleanup with IE up and running, but . . . And once your cache is purged, empty your trash can too (er - I guess it is called recycle bin now). Then restart IE. You MIGHT also want to try deleting your Windows TEMP folder, but this SHOULD NOT impact the browser - usually! There are tools for this, but I don't recall them. I usually delete them manually, but that's risky if you don't know what you are doing, so I'm not gonna go into details on that process. (On a side note - having a bunch of junk in your Windows TEMP folder can cause your PC to run slow or even weird. Wish I could remember the preferred tool for purging it, but my mind is blank at the moment - sorry) Bob - Original Message - From: Dawn Crowley [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: LegacyUserGroup@legacyfamilytree.com Sent: Tuesday, May 27, 2008 10:52 PM Subject: Re: [LegacyUG] LUG ARCHIVES The initial screen looks normal, but the search result is forbidden. ronald ferguson wrote: Dick, In a nutshell No. I used your URL and got straight through using a Windows PC.
