Yesterday I added a problem report to our tracking system since I could duplicate this. Today the mapping seems to work as it should. I think the problem was on the BING end of the mapping. Having accessed the Master Location List via a location which has Lat Long, if I right-click to re-position the pin nothing happens (the pin doesn't move), but if I close that screen and then go back in I find that the pin as been re-positioned. Having the same problems with Master Location Maps and the Plot Locations facilities as described by others, problems which appear to have started within the last few days. As noted by Jenny, the first time I enter the Master Locations List from an existing, geo-coded location, the map displays correctly, but if I then highlight any other Master Location entry, nothing happens in the map display even if it is a geo-coded entry. From the symptoms I would suspect that Bing has stopped honoring mag requests from Legacy software, possibly blacklisting Legacy. I am having the same problem. After using Legacy 7.0 Deluxe for the past four months (running it with XP/SP-2 and IE8) with no mapping-function problems, today I found that the mapping function no longer works. The symtoms are the same as described below by Charles Apple and also as reported today on the user group by Kay Fordham. I am wondering if something changed in the Bing mapping resource that rendered Legacy's map function inoperable? Interesting. I seem to be on the exact opposite end of the current mapping problems (or lack thereof). Prior to last week, if I got to the Master Location List by using the blue triangle thingie next to a location from the Individual's Information window (or Marriage Information), the map would never come up. However, if I used the menu item, View/Master lists/Location, then the map would come up. The difference is that getting to the Master Location list from the menu would start with the topmost blank item selected. From there, I could select any location and the map would zoom to that location as expected. I figured it was a bug that would eventually be addressed. Suddenly last week, I noticed the map working as expected regardless of how I got to the Master Location List. I think youve hit on it, Todd. Legacys mapping calls up Bing (was Virtual Earth) and if there are problems with that website, you'll encounter problems using the mapping in Legacy. Sherry, Bing Maps seems to be working fine for me (finds locations and gives directions) but I'm having the same problems as the others from within Legacy on both my XP desktop and Vista laptop (using IE8 on both).
