In what order have you got them listed in the Events/Facts area?

The Chronology Report, not surprisingly, lists the Evens
chronologically, ie in the order in which they occurred. However, the
Report mechanism cannot interpret data which isn't there, so if you have
Events/Facts which are not dated, these will appear at the end of the
Report in the order in which they appear in the list.

Hey, all. I'm still relatively new at this, and I'm trying to come up with a
really good checklist system for each person on my tree, so at a glance, I can
tell what major info I have and am lacking. I'm thinking the To Do List might
be the way to do this. Can I come up with standard to do items to populate the
to do list, or do I have to go through each of them separately?

[LegacyUG] Error 3021for MRIN's

Fellow Legacy users,

I Need help! When inputing and new spouse or marriage, I get this message:

 Error getting next deleted MRIN.
Error 3021: No current record.
Would you like to TRY IT AGAIN?

All of my blank MRIN's are filled in. Is that the cause of the problem and
should I choose for it not to select abandoned RIN's? I select NO and after two
times I can move ahead with a new MRIN.

What is suggested?

re: [LegacyUG] Error 3021for MRIN's

2012-03-07 Thread Jim Terry/Support
Terry,

There are several glitches, like error 3021, that may popup in the family
file from time to time. They can often be fixed by doing a Check and Repair
of the family file. Please click on File on the menu bar and select File
Maintenance Check/Repair and proceed with the repair.

1. If any error messages occur during the Check/Repair process, click No in
the error message box so that the repair steps can finish. Do Check/Repair
twice if errors are found.
2. If the program works, you can stop here. No further repairs are needed.
If the program is still gives you errors, proceed with the following
steps:

Export your records into a new Legacy family file:

1. Click File on the menu bar and select Export To from the file menu.
2. Choose Legacy File from the submenu and proceed.
3. Give the file you will export to a new name and click Save.
4. The Export screen will open. Please click the large Start Export button.
(If you get a message about sources, click Don't Assign a Source.)
5. Use the new family file and delete the old one when you are satisfied
with the results.

RE: [LegacyUG] 2012 webinar brochure

2012-03-07 Thread ArdenholmeGenealogy
Thanks Geoff

May I ask if you have any plans or know of any Sign Language versions of your
webinars? In the USA, ASL (American Sign Language) is used there and it would
be great to have ASL on your webinars if at all possible for your Deaf viewers.

I am from the UK where I am beginning to try to get people to provide a BSL
(British Sign Language) version of any genealogical podcast/webcast etc. It
would also be useful to know if there are any Deaf genealogists out there in
other parts of the world?

Thank you,

Jemima

RE: [LegacyUG] 2012 webinars - closed captions.

2012-03-07 Thread Mark Lang
I am extremely hard of hearing, wear hearing aids and find some webinars hard
to hear (even with full volume). My preference would be Closed Captions
(subtitles). Use them all the time on TV and videos. Only way to hear. Live
captions is always behind, and closed captions will take too long to get video
free to people for 10 days. However post production closed captions to CD
videos would be great.

Kind Regards

Mark

[LegacyUG] marriage notes screen

2012-03-07 Thread Michele Lewis
When I click on the marriage notes, the box is maximized (fills my entire
screen which is what I want). However, when I type in the notes field the
type is tiny tiny tiny. If I close the notes field and then reopen it, the
type magically becomes large and if I type anymore in the notes field it
types large. This happens EVERY time I open a marriage notes screen that
doesn't have any previous writing in it.
