You're getting emails from me and others because you're subscribed to the Legacy Users Group mailing list. Brian - I'm with you in that the DMARC policies are new (and confusing ) to me. But can you state if the following boiler plate language is being added by your list server or somewhere else during the hops: >> The original message to the list is in the attachment. >> >> This action is required because of the DMARC Reject/Quarantine Policy >> imposed by some email providers. Users who want to send messages >> without conversion to attachments should use a different email >> address for their subscription. >> >> Known providers for free email accounts whose emails do not require >> this conversion include gmail.com and hotmail.com. The impact of those on mailing lists means that mail to mailing lists from subscribers using yahoo.com cannot be modified when re-transmitted as a mail message from the list. Brian, Even your messages to answer other peoples' questions are coming to me. I have checked out several emails from Legacy users, and see NO way to unsubscribe from them. oops, hubby just found one email from you and Loren, which has this unsubscribe thingy. But, if I unsubscribe, doesn't that mean I won't ever hear from Legacy again? I don't want that either! Please advise. Re: [LegacyUG] Colors for Children - posted as attachment
If the content of the attachment can be re-transmitted on the list, great. Otherwise, those of us who care, will never see those messages. I think that it needs to be made clear to those who will not change their provider that their messages will never be read by the wise. It is dogma that one never open an attachment. Many phony ones have been posted on your list. A clever hacker will also include your explanation. Per many prior emails, it is the email programs people use, doing this. Yahoo is notorious for it. There was another one as well but the domain eludes me at this time.
