You have to go to Options, Customize, be on the General Tab and make sure that the display tool tips is checked. Then it will work in the Family View. Also, if the tag is empty it will not show the description. You shouldn't have to do that. I don't consider the title associated with a tag to be a tooltip. A tooltip is what should pop up when the mouse hovers over a button or entry field. Cogitating on this (and other facts about the universe) a little further, I guess the tags shown on Family View do behave like buttons. They can be left- and right-clicked. I suppose they are buttons and so can be regarded as controls, which can have tooltips associated with them. But, I still don't think you should have to switch them on like all the other tooltips. -- Regards, Mike Fry Johannesburg Legacy User Group guidelines: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Etiquette.asp Archived messages after Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/legacyusergroup@legacyusers.com/ Archived messages from old mail server - before Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/legacyusergroup@legacyfamilytree.com/ Online technical support: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Help.asp Follow Legacy on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/LegacyFamilyTree) and on our blog (http://news.LegacyFamilyTree.com). RE: [LegacyUG] Tagging TIP
Brian et al, It works for me, which is why I wrote about it and suggested it. I won't put anything in the book unless I have it working properly in Legacy. My reputation as an author would be mud if I wrote something incorrectly that was not true. Obviously a number of things have to happen - 1) the option needs to be switched on, 2)a name for the tag entered in the Advanced Option dialog; without either the tag name does not show Kind Regards Mark Lang -Original Message- From: Brian/Support [mailto:br...@legacyfamilytree.com] Sent: Sunday, 3 June 2012 6:55 AM To: LegacyUserGroup@LegacyUsers.com Subject: Re: [LegacyUG] Tagging TIP Perhaps that is why it did not work for me when I tested and input the problem report.
